    Not co-written with Tony Arata. Tony wrote the song after seeing the movie 'Peggy Sue got married'. Garth heard Tony perform the song at the Bluebird Cafe and told him after the gig that if he ever got a record deal that he'd record the song - which he did three years later. The rest is history - one of the greatest songs ever (interesting note: Tony had the melody in his head for many years but was never happy with the original lyrics until he re-wrote it after seeing the movie) that had been turned down by many artists in Nashville over a 3 year period of time. That said - thanks for posting this video.

      You could be right. The chords Suspicious Minds(my favorite Elvis song) are G C D Em and Bm. So I can see how you think they sound the similar.

    No. You slide the C chord up a whole step, you don't use a traditional old D chord. Big difference.

    • @countrymusicguitarclassics
      @countrymusicguitarclassics  3 года назад

      I play it both ways and I don't think it is a big difference at all. Some difference but certainly not a big difference.

    Found you by accident, of course, looking for a song without a Bm. I'm into the song and DAMN you throw the Bm in and I just got it. God, Garth, and music work in mysterious ways. Thanks for the Bourbon Trail plug
