The only way to fix our problems is to go through a major hard time. Most Americans would see the result as bad policy but it has to happen. America is doomed in my opinion. I believe in miracles so it’s possible but I don’t believe we deserve it. Hard times are comin no matter what we do.
I have 4 Arken optics now and just ordered another one last night with a set of low height rings and a medium height rings. Arken has become my new favorite optic for a hunting optic set up.
Yup, I bought two of those 35x Arken scopes when you first announced their availability to replace my nice but grossly out of date 25 year old Nightforce 40x NSX scopes on my BLASER R93 LRS 338 LAPUA and my 260REM Armalite AR10, I prefer the 260REM over the Creedmoor because it can hold a few extra grains of powder which is nice to have when I'm loading my 150gr Sierra HPBTMK 6.5mm bullets; and yes, I have a 1/7 twist.
Just ordered mine. The only issue is that every item over the chassis adds $25 shipping cost as I was going to order 2 different bag riders and it was going to be $75 in shipping.
We should already have abundant stocks of ammo and reloading equipment to not let this worry us. If you don't I'd make it a priority, also get training and practice with what you have. Always be safe and treat a pew pew as it's loaded.
I think we have all the minds we need here to build this economy and actually make things here. The tooling and trade craft in tool making, I'm seriously concerned about.
I was thinking the same about pricing going up in the near future if available at all. So, I order EP5 7-35X56 Gen 2 FFP (Mil / VPR), Lever, Bubble Level (34mm), and Ridid Precision Mount (34mm 20 MOA) this week with 30% Black Friday Sale (got everything just under $700 - not including taxes). I always try to buy products made/manufacture in America and found that very difficult regarding Precision Scopes, everything I looked at was made in China or were completely out of my price range. Hopefully that will change in the future.
The same people that scream 🇺🇸 drive off in a Toyota.🤦♂️ I am an American of Mexican descend. Almost every man in my family has fought for this country and fought in every war/conflict since World War 2. We've even lost family in Korea. Because of my grandfather I would never buy a foreign car. Unfortunately half the American cars have foreign parts now A days.
Yeah, man. Your car analogy is fubar. Not only am I not going to invest in a subpar product, especially when we're talking things that cost in the 5 figures, but the Japanese and Germans have invested more in U.S. automobile manufacturing in the last 30 years than the Big 3. Somehow Toyota can find a way to make the Tundra in San Antonio and Nissan the Titan in Nashville, but GM and Dodge both make their trucks in Mexico. Ford ain't much better. They produce the Fiesta, Focus, and Fusion all in Mexico. Every BMW X suv has been made in Spartanburg, South Carolina since 2001. Mercedes-Benz has a plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
This is why you stock up over time. As well as stock up on plenty of supplies to make it so that even if it dried up for a long period of time, as in years you can still make whatever calibers you normally would need
Dunhams is selling 762 NATO Aguila for $24 a box ON SALE! This same box a few months ago on sale was $17. If it gets worse than this, forget about it! 😊
Dunhams is pricey. Their ammo and firearm prices are ridiculously high unless you get some crazy sale deal. I got my Savage 110 Axis Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor with the MDX Oryx chassis and a Vortex 4-12x for $899 a year ago. That’s the only firearm I’ve ever bought from them….

I get it, it's time to invest in america. People need to understand where they buy things and how it effects our economy, now it's cheap but when you can't buy quality anything and other countries turn off the spigot we will be forced to buy cheap crap that we could make in america.
My arken 7-35x56 just came in yesterday I used your code Rex thanks that scope is a house I also got the throw lever and titanium mounts I’m in the process of mounting it on my old ar30 in 300 win curious to see what I can accomplish with it!!
The overseas (typically Asian) made stuff can impress in look, feel, and operation at first, because they've mastered visual reproduction. Long term always proves that they haven't optimized what you can't see- eg., lesser quality alloys, poor internal finishes, inadequate adhesives and lubricants, etc. Use a 3-400 dollar Chinese made scope in the desert sun or sub-zero conditions on a regular basis and it will show it's actual value.
Disagree...i used to be a glass snob AND brand loyalist. Having owned 4 different Arkens and having carried one extensively in sub zero conditions for 10 days/nights shooting everyday, i can tell you that while I do NOT trust Chicom manufacturing like i trust German manufacturing I still will purchase 6 of these before I buy another Kahles, Steiner or S&B for my purposes. My kit always has duplicates for load out BUT previously glass was the one item I didnt duplicate due to cost. Now it's a no brainer, 2 Arkens in every kit - not out of brand loyalty but out of experience with the particular scope.
Here in California we had an ammo increase July 1, 2024. Gavin Newsom put a 11% excise tax on firearms and ammo in addition to the 10% state tax. So basically 21% tax on firearms and ammo 🙄. I don't wanna hear about voting because it doesn't always work
Here comes the people who think running away from the communists is the solution. This is the main reason they keep taking one state at a time because so-called 2a people like to run. Don't you know you will eventually run out of states to run from?
Many German/European countries are outsourcing their products as well. My buddy works for a German car dealership and many of their cars are made in Mexico. I know for sure many VW's are made in Mexico..

There is a difference in work ethic and have like 60 paid holidays or more like Germany does, it's all cost. And yes cheap labor still cheap, we will have to tight belts to get better.
Europe and USA are trying to eliminate lead in glass for high definition optics. Makes it more expensive and lighter though. Bet China still uses lead in optical glass.
How’s the eye box on the Arken? Do these start to darken on the upper end like their other models? Sorry for the skepticism, but while their products have lots of features, I’ve yet to look through any of their SH or EP products and thought they were on par with 1500$+ optics glass wise. The back to back vids of the same setup makes it look like a late night infomercial shilling a product vs an actual review.
China's increasing sophistication in product design/manufacture is to the point where they can actually produce technically competitive OR superior products to their western counterparts for vastly less money. I actually prefer Chinese parts for many of my "projects". I'm kinda not excited about the impending 'trade war', if I'm being honest... Also - Dealing with chinese companies is friggin' "Tea with the Queen" by comparison to dealing with the entitled, spoiled, ineffective American employees. I really hope this can change. Looking at the kids, I'm not super hopeful.
I hope Trump will be able to use the "tariff " as a bargaining chip not just as an across the board import price hike. I think China is the big nitrocelulose producer which is not good.
