I just bought a honda cbr1000rr 2017 sp2 for just under £15.000 new and unregistered to say im happy is a under statement and i love your passion keep up the great content
The reason the SP2 is less susceptible to simple exhaust changes is that the OEM fuel maps are a little richer to begin with, but if you do the same exercise of full exhaust and Woolich tune on the SP2 then you will see the SP2 be significantly faster and stronger than even a tuned SP ;) The SP2 pulls a lot harder on top end if you rev it out due to the superbly flowing cylinder head.
Just like to leave one more message you inspired me so much I traded in my brand new Kawasaki ZX 10 R and I got myself a 2017 Honda CBR1000rr /SP2 I absolutely love the bike it’s absolutely incredible it only had 156 miles on it guy kept it in the garage never rode it traded it in for the H2 Kawasaki And I was lucky enough to get my hands on it thank you guys so much this thing is incredible I wish I could send you a few pictures but I don’t know how to do that through RUclips
Aww dude this really got me in the feels! 🥰 so so cool to hear! So stoked for you and hope you enjoy it as much as both shaan and I are enjoying ours 🙌 just did first track day and my SP was perfect 👌 please send me some photos on Instagram 🙏🏼

JERRY!!! I really want to see this bike of yours in the flesh!! cannot believe your dyno results, my bike feels like it’s on steroids so yours must be on another level! Yours must be loud though no? I was conscious of noise levels for track so didn’t go full system but after seeing your numbers I don’t think I would care too much about noise regs 😁
Project Moneypits it’s not far at all ....it’s just over an hours ride I’m coming from Kent ...jus let me when ur free an il ride over no problem the weathers been really nice over this way pretty much had the bike out most days 👍🏼
Shan’s fuelling is lean low down (snatchy throttle) and then rich higher in revs on full beans like a normal factory OEM bike.. the Akra bike has near spot on AFR hence makes better power with the full catless system..
Kal Heer yeah I want to ride the SP2 back to back with mine just to see how different they are even though the power is the same, maybe it will convince shaan to map it!!
You’re driving on the wrong side of the road! Oh...wait, across the pond.👍🏼 Something about a chick🐣on a liter bike, very cool. Especially a bad-ass 2017 Fireblade 💯🔥🏍
Hey 👋 I’m 5 foot 6 (170cm), I fit very snuggly on the SP, my mate who is 6 foot said it felt a little cramped, may be able to solve that with adjustable rearsets. Hope that helps 😊
Yo! Awesome dude thanks. Yes I bought new abs plastic fairings, prepped them myself and had a painter paint them subaru obsidian black but with gold glitter in the lacquer. 🤙
@@projectmoneypits5204 Fair enough.. it looked very similar. Your FireBlade looks amazing in that colour scheme, better than the factory colours to my eyes. I had thought of buying a bike and wrapping it.. but think what you did seems a better option.
The SP’s are apparently notorious (according to the many 1000rr forums I’m on) for not properly remapping the ECU’s to account for the different exhaust flow.
None of the SC77 Hondas has the ability to "remap" to compensate for any changes outside of ambient changes. Not sure where the rumor started. So its not a case of not properly remapping, there is no automatic remapping at all.
@@Treizez34 yes. These bikes do not have long and short term trim tables and so have no "learning' to fall back on and recall or save for future reference the way our cars do. Also the OEM O2 sensor is a narrow band sensor and wont read the larger AFR changes properly to be able to make the appropriate compensation. This is why it frustrates me no end when I see people payign for an ECU reste service so the bike can "relearn". There is no such thing and and didn't learn in the first place so there is nothing to relearn :)
Nice bike 🔥 where did you buy the fairing ? I would like to change my Fireblade SC77 from the Matte black to to more shining like yours - look great when a bike shine 😉
Mine are auctmart fairings that we’re new but I bought them second hand for cheap thankfully, and then paint job is custom 😊 if budget allows and you want another complete set of fairings to paint than go for monster fairings as they are better quality from what I have seen in terms of fitment. 🤙
Great, thank you very much. I Think i will go with the Monster Fairing. They have Them painted glosse black👌 And then some Honda sticker in Gold 😍 thank you for reply 😀
Those charts read 170bhp and for that full system akra Dyno that reads 190+bhp. Doesn't bhp stand for "brake horsepower" which is essential horsepower at the crank and NOT at the wheel? I just had the same work+full akra+BMC filter on a whp Dyno and it made 150 stock and 165whp, this was at the wheel not brake/crank horsepower. Edit: good video btw. Also how many miles are on the bike? The only mod I have yet to do is velocity stacks, which my shop has estimated another 7+ at the wheel for the sp2.
Chase Null these are wheel horse power figures, the numbers at the bottom tell you the exacts. Engine dynos (like manufacturers use) read crank power, chassis dynos read wheel horsepower. These bikes are ‘meant to’ be 189bhp at the crank as per manufacturer stats. Both bikes are around 1500miles on the clock now 😊 I haven’t had experience with velocity stacks but that sounds like good gains unless it’s ridiculously expensive to do?
@@projectmoneypits5204 stacks are only about $400 but they are known to give sp2's bigger gains than sp1's because of the larger head. It's the last mod you can do before cams and engine work.
Hi Kirsty, I have contacted SP engineering to purchase the shorter exhaust shown on Shaans bike, they have told me that particular mid pipe has been custom made. Am I able to please find out where this was done and if I can get one made. I will purchase the muffler from SP. Cheers Matt
Matthew Caesar I had the link pipe cut downs to make it shorter for the look and custom bracket made so it bolts to the oem foot pegs and gives a clean look. Hope this helps
Stupid o’clock 😂😭. Eventually I want to upgrade from a 600rr and I’m looking at all my options. The 1000rr sp is on top of my list! Trying to persuade my wife to go from 3 wheels to two but at 5 feet tall seems she can’t touch the ground on anything 🥺. Told her it can be lowered but she wants to sit on a lowered bike first. Have yet to find one lowered 😒
You would not be disappointed with an SP it’s such a winner, although my 2016 black edition is actually the better road bike (next video). Hope you can convince the wife to get on two wheels, at 5 feet tall options are limited although I’m really into the cb650r’s which have a nice low seat height and enough punch to have some fun! Lowering a bike is a possibility but it does throw off the handling a bit!
The mechanically sympathetic side of me will always let things warm up. One I hate starting anything up and revving it Then shutting it down and two it only costs you a few minutes so not the end of the world

Hi. First video I seen of yours (I like it!), So you may have answered this. Did you have this bike custom painted gloss black?
Also.. did I see your black CBR600R at Chiswick Honda for sale late last year? I was very interested in it.
