Loved the video...I've been seriously considering trading my Heritage for one of these. Thank you very much! I just think the SGS would suit me and my riding style better than the softtail. I like the Heritage, but I think for the highway riding I do mostly one of these would be better...I think. 👍🙂
I'm not sure if it's the camera sound or what exactly, but it seems really quite. When I finally get the street glide I want I hope they sell it it denim black with the new 114 and a little louder pipe.
Great review Bike n’Bird, thankyou!! How would the Street Glide Special handle the “THREE TWISTED SISTERS”? You mentioned it is nimble, but how does this bike handle on twisties?
Just got 2019 streetglide special had them put pipes on it when i got it sounds mean as hell sounds like a big block keep the shiny side up all have fun besafe
Yes of course, you and I know this, however, there are some people that might say, "whoa??? The rear cylinder gets shut down????" I only thought that you might want to clarify what EITMS stands for. Engine Idle Temperature Management System. I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm only saying this because there might be some people that might ask that question. I have it on on my bike and it runs a little rougher when the system is activated but it turns off as soon as you roll on the throttle or move faster than 5 MPH I believe. I can tell you how to turn it on or off if you're interested. However, it was a great review. I have a 17 Street Glide and I am not happy about the Infotainment System. It's difficult to navigate. But I love the bike and I love riding. Have a great weekend.!
What is your thoughts on the stock rear suspension. If you bought that same street glide would you change the stock rear suspension. Because I saw a video of Matt Laidlaw testing out the Fox and Legend rear suspension on his bike and a co-workers bike. Both were street glides. They are around $800 to $900 and he said the stock suspension was good but that he wouldn't back to stock after riding on both the Fox and the Legend suspension. What are your thoughts on that subject.
I'd have to get some ride time with an upgrade before I could comment. If I were to buy a special though I would get something a little taller since they're an inch lower I believe. But stock is fine for what they're meant to do
Have you done a video test drive on the 2019 ultra limited yet? Im interested to hear your opinion. Im interested in buying one with in a month. Just doing as much research as i can 1st. Thanks
Hey man i am riding a sportster 48 and i wanna to try the SG but i am afraid of the weight , i am afraid of the bike fallen into side , is it heavy? The handling etc? Thankss
I like my 2018 street glide. I dont care about the dash screen. Must the time u have to be alert not looking at the dash screen. Later ima upgrade to 114.
I have a 14 Streetglide special and I immediately notice that the windshield needs to be taller. Wind was almost blowing my glasses off. Gas lid does not pop up when you push the button so it took me a minute to figure out how to open it to access the gas cap. The seat does sit a little taller making anybody shorter that 5'8" have to stand on their tip toes not to mention cramping in your hips from it. (Either get a lower seat or shorter shocks in the back) You want taller bars? Get ready to spend $3000 on bars and installation. My advice; find a bike with taller bars already on it. Slip on pipes are cheaper to buy than bars.
@@BikeNBird well let me clarify. If it's stock cables yes. But if you have to get extended cables there's no way. Changing clutch cables, Brake lines and bleeding brakes, rerunning wires through the bars and good forbid you don't have the bars with welded bends in them and then soldering them. All that is at least an hour. If you have a fairing bike you have to take off the fairing to get to the bars which requires more rewiring to unhook the radio and lights and hook them back again when your done and then put the fairing back on. Three hrs minimum and that's on a good day. There's reasons why shops charge so much to replace bars on fairing bikes bc it's a pain in the ass. Where do they come off charging even $2500 if it's a 2 hr job? The math does add up even if you bought some $500 bars and their labor costs are $100 hr
Road across South Dakota to Sturgis Aug, 6, saw people riding BMWs, riding Hondas, Riding Suzukis, riding Yamahas, even a few Ducatis and KTMs made me wonder, do these Harley things come standard with a trailer to tow them behind your pickup or motorhome or do you buy that separate?
I've never understood the "tow the bike there" mentality. Some people tow the bike within a few miles of Sturgis, and unload the bikes and ride them in. LOL!! I wonder if they throw some dirt on themselves too?
Stretched saddlebags. Blacked out everything. Security , ABS and 6.5 GTS versus black and white screen , and 6.5 vs 5.25 speakers. And the rear wheel is 18 inches on the specials versus 16 inch rear wheel on standard glides.
You also get different wheels that are blacked out with the engine and exhaust. They are called Talon Wheels which I think looks better than the regular streetglide and Road Glide Wheels.
I am in the market and i am really tossed between the Indian Chieftain and the H-D Street Glide Special. I love the scorched orange but we are too far into 2019 models, i think i am going to wait for the 2020 models which should be released next week at Sturgis for both. Harley does have better colours, but i think the Indian is a better bike in the way that you get more for your money. As for what i hate, for Indian i hate the dash cluster, i just dont like it, looks like a robot face and wile is not that big of a deal, it is what i look at. As for Harley, what i do hate is the suspension and lack of locking saddlebags. Neither Harley or Indian is perfect, but Indian seems to be closer and i hear about less problems with Indian than i do with Harley. Honestly, my mind isn't made up yet.
Ouch, 27k+ what is Harley doing with this pricing? Sure I love my Harley's but 27k it hurts... I may end up getting the new 2019 Indian Chieftain instead... I own the 2017 Road Glide Special 19.5k out the door and the infotainment system sucks, super slow, etc. Oh well, next!
$27,000!!!!!! LOL! Harley seems to be having enough problems competing with the new V twins around, not to mention other very well known large touring bikes. I doubt the $27,000 price tag will help that, but good luck!!
Sorry Bro but all the new bikes are taking away the romance of the ride. All I want is a good motorcycle me and the road ahead Leave all your cares behind and just ride!!
I have a 2015 Street Glide Special and I’m loving the 2019’s!
Great review, thanks for posting.
I purchased a new 19 Street Glide Standard last year and love it! 👍👍
As always..... Great Review !!
Lower fairings would be on my list.

Is the Sony ECMC a lavalier? (Type of mic; think TED Talks presenters)

40 years riding Harley's....top 4 mods: taller windshield, detachable tour pack; Stage II audio update and Stage IV engine upgrade....
Nice....but for myself handle bars 1st because i am tall
Good review
Nice video, great work. I love that bike but I wouldn’t like riding it in 104° heat. I’m from Maine, I would melt!
killing it
Great review Bike n’Bird, thankyou!!
How would the Street Glide Special handle the “THREE TWISTED SISTERS”?
You mentioned it is nimble, but how does this bike handle on twisties?
Multiple guys in our group have done the sisters on a street glide
I agree, $27,000 and no Daymaker headlight. Even a lot of the Softails have an LED headlight.
I'm surprised that bike does not have day makers. every 19 model I have looked at has LEDs .
I love street glide 114 BB
Nice review. Subbed
thank you welcome to the channel!
Just got 2019 streetglide special had them put pipes on it when i got it sounds mean as hell sounds like a big block keep the shiny side up all have fun besafe
Nice!! Which pipes did you get?
Dennis Beach what pipes?
@@motowolfpack8422 mean as hell ones
Its 6 degrees in Boston or that new Vivid RoadGlide Special with stage one screamin eagle street cannons would be out and turning heads!!
what did you use to record this video?
The EITMS will shut down the rear cylinder AT IDLE ONLY. You may have suggested otherwise. It stands for Engine Idle Temperature Management System
How did I suggest otherwise? Obviously its not going to shut down the rear cylinder at speed...

Does the sound different idling on one cylinder?

Well I bought a 2018 RG ultra if that gives you any idea. Same thing without the fixed fairing
@@BikeNBird thanks!
At first said road glide not street lol
Hey man i am riding a sportster 48 and i wanna to try the SG but i am afraid of the weight , i am afraid of the bike fallen into side , is it heavy? The handling etc? Thankss
Its heavier at slow speed but you get used to it very quickly. At speed it's not bad at all.
As soon as you adjust you will be taking turns like your Sporty.
How did you like the hydraulic clutch compared to your Street Bob’s cable clutch? I own a ‘17 Bob and a ‘17 SGS and like the cable clutch better.
I like cable clutches better
Why?
Because I like them better.
I can't tell the difference.
I like my 2018 street glide. I dont care about the dash screen. Must the time u have to be alert not looking at the dash screen. Later ima upgrade to 114.
I have a 15 Road Glide and rarely use my radio. I just really like the fairing look and protection.
touch screen work only with harley davidson gloves 😆
Nice bike just got one the matte red and got it for $24K out the door
WOW! For a 2019 Street Glide Special 114 ?? Great deal
Ya what a deal i paid 29500 for mine.
hi , what size of handlebars do you prefer for you ?
Depends on the bike but I usually prefer something in the 13-14" range with straight wrist position
my 2014 street glide special with the 103 motor is just fine. No need to upgrade if you ask me.
I have a 14 Streetglide special and I immediately notice that the windshield needs to be taller. Wind was almost blowing my glasses off. $3000 😂 Bars are a 2 hour job MAX doing it yourself.
@@BikeNBird 2 hour job??? Yeah right
@@joetroutt7425 I've changed about a dozen sets. None have taken over 2 hours.

They are the ones that play bumper bikes all over the roads.
All I need is someone to donate thirty thousand dollars to my bank account and I’m good to go
Ok what’s your routing and bank account number
Jason Sitton Lol
Whats the difference in the standard street glide & the special besides the engine?
Painted inner fairing, ABS, upgraded stereo, upgraded shocks.
Stretched saddlebags. Blacked out everything.

One of the things I am considering because of the same concern. Indian seems to be about 2k less on the new 19s
You know that this bike is not for beginners 😔 That's the only reason I've disliked this programme. Other than that it's a good vid 😎
I ride too far, too fast and too often to ride a Harley

God made Hondas for short people.
Which god?
The motorcycle God da!!! anybody that knows anything knows that.
Would that be Jeebus Crust?
Must be the all electric hybrid model.. couldn't hear it running at all just got on it and away you went..I will pass

How do the new bikes take that away?
What do you mean. 🤔
That's why you buy two bikes. A cheap bounce around town bike (Sportster) and a comfort cruiser.
So now the BoomBox system is now equivalent to what Indian has had for a couple years now. not very innovating, sound like Harley is just catching up
cept 4 the fact they invented it in the 1st place
Harley company is in such a death spiral, I predict they go bankrupt and fold inside of 4 or 5 years from now........
