Here's what might be a stupid question - if i run the vaccum and its in the water, should i be feeling any suction at all from the rectangular hole in the bottom while its running? My vaccum rolls all around the pool but i dont think its picking up anything, and i feel no suction from that hole.
The fan/impeller motor fails. It is an old type of motor with brushes. I replaced the brushes on mine but it has failed again a year later. It doesn't seem possible to purchase a replacement motor by itself. It is located in the sealed black box within the casing.
What is the normal self test for the dolphin proteus dx4? I tried the self test method and all it did was move one direction for a couple of seconds, stops, then move the same directions for another couple of seconds then stops. This is a brand new unit. It did the same in the water, moves backward a few seconds, stops, then move backward for a few seconds, then stops.
Did you ever figure this out? I got a brand new dolphin Mercury unit. Does exactly what you’re saying. Oddly enough every 3-4 tries of unplugging and turning it back on it does work for about 10-15 min then shuts off again.
@@R2JProductions I contacted maytronics and they replaced my unit. They sold out the DX4, so they shipped me an equivalent. The Triton PS. That one works fine, only once in like 30 or 40 times, it kinda stops moving after like an hour. And the led in front never works. But as long as it's cleaning my pool. I'm not complaining much. My guess for my previous one is a bad board.
These dolphins are junk, mine was used last year from end of July to September. Now a red light comes on the power supply and the vacuum is useless. Yes the impeller is completely clear tracks are clear nothing at all in the filter box. All this money for more Chinese garbage

Same here. Barley vacuums anything
