So far in testing, I have found that Rex is surprisingly one of the best leaders in the game so far. His deck with Alliance Dispatcher and Strategic Acumen make go wide strategies so easy that coordinate is always active. The deck is also filled with board buffers, and Rex also being a board buffer on deployment is very useful. I think he is probably the most aggressive deck we will have in the game, and if decks don't run token hate, he is guaranteed to run them over. By 6 resources, you generally have 5 to 7 units on board, and the clone tokens will have about 4 power and 5 health.
@@juanbonilla1006 I imagine it shouldn't be too hard to try and replicate, just shove all the token buffers in there, and fill in the blanks as you please. Stuff like Yularen, Shaak Ti, Cody.

Not sure if you discovered this not already since making the video but Jango can exhaust from damage from the units abilities too, like Ruthless Raider and ISB Agent. It does not have to be combat damage, it just has to be damage dealt from the unit, which includes its ability.
I think Rex has serious potential just because of how many stat points he brings to the board. And put him with sentinals to keep him and the board buffers alive and you suddenly have a really strong deck imo
Great video Matty! Agree with Palp - might be gamebreaking, might be too much of a loss not having the leader unit.. but defo cool game design. Can you give me your 4 best leaders specifically for prerelease/sealed please?
I've always loved drawing cards in TCGs, so the draw card leaders, especial Pre Vizsla, is really intriguing. I wonder if there are enough "draw" cards to really make a deck focused around that with Pre Vizsla as the leader, while still having enough other utility for removal and pumping up your own units, etc. to be viable. I'm still pretty new to the game, so someone far smarter/more experienced would have to explore that. But even theorycrafting, and thinking about the possibilities is something that will be exciting going forward as more and more cards are released, and you have a wider variety of themes to explore. Very exciting.
The fun thing about Palpatine is that I haven’t got a clue if he’s going to be amazing, awful, or middling. It’s going to be a difficult deck to build, and I wouldn’t know where to start, but I’m super interested to see what people come up with.
Anakin is the deck I’m excited about. And Ventress. Ventress can use sneak attack as a one card extra damage swing on turn one. Also you can use droid deployment to exploit Ventress unit and use leader Ventress to make unit Ventress swing for 6 damage by turn 2.
@@jamesparkinson6237Negative. All cards enter play exhausted unless specifically stated like most leaders’ Epic Action. When a card is flipped, the new face-up side is considered to have entered play.
Did they say something about only being able to ignore a Villian aspect penalty when he's Darth Sideous? I just assumed he got all three + base from the jump
I have been playing online with Obi for a bit now in a blue green deck with a lot of sentinels and healers and have had a ton of success against every meta deck. it seems like everyone is downplaying the impact of sentinel. I cant wait for the physical set to release to really put it to the test!
I think it's going to take a lot to unlock Palp and not much to disrupt him. Dial it in though and he's clearly got the most potential because of the 3 color deck.
I bet palp ends up in A with the others. Its not that hes not unreal. Its that the deck is going to be extremely difficult to pilot. Hes on par with qira imop.
Qui Gin Jinn was very dead during the clone wars, so understandable he isn't in this set. I would be surprised if he doesn't make an appearance in set 5, Legends of the Force.
I love Palpatine so much, from a game design perspective alone, so freaking cool.
Agreed!!

You telling me Quinlan Vos got a leader but Qui Gon didn’t…. Cries in duel of the fates 🥲
Kinda wild yeah :(
Hoping these leaders shake the meta UP!

P38 Starfighter really works well with Jango. Not sure if he's BETTER than Boba, but maybe he's a good direct counter.

Hey dude great question. Circle back with me / keep an eye out for videos specifically on pre release. Great call tho
With Asajj her on atk Trigger work with combate tricks ?like short First, surprese strike etc?
Yeah you can surprise strike her and really get a massive attack with first strike damage
You should make the cards bigger and your face smaller and read the rules out loud
Good feedback thanks!

I agree - it is exciting. I have some rough lists in the discord - I think theres some decent draw options - one of my favs is I am your father!
@@ktodmatty That was literally the first card I thought about. I can't wait to play it. :)

Is there potential for an infinite loop with the new palp? Or potential to do lethal damage to a base once a player takes the initiative?
I think when he flips he stays tapped so you can't do it all the time
Once he flips he exhausts that’s what I was told
Would it not be one tap on each side per phase? So if you tap hero side, it’d be untapped for villain but once he’s flipped back, he’d be tapped?

You pay aspect penalty of side doesn’t Match is my understanding
