Laura, I know you are carnivore, not lion diet (as have I been), however, I just realized something AMAZING that Id love if you shared with your viewers! In The Bible, Leviticus 11 originally our guidelines of what animals on the earth we could eat was none other than only ruminant meat!!!!
1And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, 2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth. 3Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat. 4Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 5And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 6And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you. 7And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.
How amazing is that?! This, I believe is why lion diet works so well as the basis of an elimination diet! So I think if someone wanted to include what the Bible goes on to include after (fish of the sea that have both scales and fins, but not anything of the sea that does not have both scales and fins) would be ok for a starting line also. It makes so much sense to me... We are all from different background with geneology in different parts of the world so our bodies all react different to the other foods that may not be from the same region our bloodlines are from, but the original basis of food guidelines were for everyone. Not until after the flood were all foods permissible, and we of course know how most of the plant foods have been manipulated... But also, in searching KJV Bible, very few veggies are mentioned anyway. Only found mention of fruits, barley, corn, grain(which is no longer the same by any means today thanks to GMO), nuts, melon, honey, sap, onions, garlick, herbs and spices such as cummin, anise etc. It just blew my mind that the animals we use for lion diet are the same within God's original guidelines!!!! The only animals that haven't been manipulated by the GMOs etc bc God created them as specifically being clean for our consumption!!!! So awesome!!!!

Laura, I have to thank you soooo much. I listened to this video yesterday and I found the missing piece that I am searching for all my life.
For me carbs, especially sugar, were also a comfort and nurturing. And when you said you had to grieve that you wont be able to eat sugar again, I had a big aha moment. And today I feel soooooo much sadness and I cry because of that truth. I too have prediabetes and I too cant eat just a little sugar. And I have to cut it out.
And today I am finaly grieving. ❤❤❤ And I am finaly detaching from the need that sugar is my comfort. Such a relief.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

People making their comments about what YOU are eating annoys the hell out of me. They need to do them (whatever that is) and let you do you. If you live a carnivore lifestyle and add a few condiments here and there and you don’t gain weight then that is WHAT WORKS FOR YOU! BRAVO! We all need a little spice in our lives. It’s ok to be YOU! You are a great example for us all to follow. You’re honest. You don’t hide what you do. Most of these back door keyboard warriors are hiding who they really are. Keep on doing what you and your family are doing. It shows in your beauty inside and out. 👏👏👏👏

I would like to thank you for putting everything out there on RUclips for us. It's helped me a great deal. In 2010, I was 230 lb doing household moving, constantly lifting and carrying, and then I broke my back. That turned my world completely upside down. Pass through time until 30 days ago when I was at my heaviest of 416 pounds. For the last two months, I've been learning everything I could about the carnivore diet. Three weeks ago, I pulled the trigger and started it. After weighing myself today, I'm down to 386 pounds, and I'm down 2 pant sizes. Because of this, I think I'm going to start my own RUclips channel and record my journey. On top of all that, I'm 53 years old, so this is going to be a fun journey. Once again, thank you for putting things out there on RUclips for us it's helped me a great deal.

I started a few months after you did, and started counting total carbs keeping them below 20, and quickly started cutting them down to below 5, I went to no added carbs with just the few we get from eggs and small amounts of cheese. I started at 370 and lost down to 190. There were many health improvements. Sadly I didn't keep up with all of them 😢. During all of that I was also my wife's 24/7 caregiver and then lost her two years ago. It's been hard to stay on track since losing Ruthie, but I started getting back into the grove again this past Monday. I'm back to watching your videos and the others that I followed from the start!

Don't let the scale be the deciding factor. If there's one thing that I've learned over my life of yo-yo dieting is sometimes the scale is not accurate sometimes it will lie haha but seriously focusing on non-scale victories like how your clothes fit or how many inches of fat you lost around your body or how you feel physically and mentally is much better judge than what the scale says. You can lose inches of fat around your body and the scale won't change because sometimes you're changing your fat to muscle ratio and muscle tends to weigh a little bit more

I did a 2-week water fast not long ago, followed by a 1-week binge and a 1-week fast to reset, basically not eating anything 3 out of 4 weeks in that month. I can understand your pain. I think the issue with binging on food is that it's not only carbs that get you addicted, it's also whatever abcxyz chemicals they put in the bars and other heavily processed food that keep you going back.
Stay with natural food, and it's so much easier.

It is so comforting to have someone say what it is difficult for me to say. How you describe how sugar food trigger a bigger problem is for me so true. A little isn't enough and sends me into a binge. I just can't tell someone why I can't have that type of food so I just say something like oh I'm diabetic and I can't eat that. I often wonder if what we go through with food and a alcoholic goes through with drink isn't the same. Family, Friends, co-workers all are pushing food into our faces and it is so hard to turn it down. Thank you for being real and upfront with your struggles.

It's the difference between me controlling food or the food controlling me.
The grieving process is real. It's like saying goodbye to your BFF only to realise they were toxic. In doing so, I find it easier to abstain. I love myself enough not to self sabotage and poison myself. This mindset has helped me immensely.

Hey Laura, Been subscribed since 2020 and went carnivore for a year and dropped 100 lbs. Now on Keto as I had to use too many supplements to keep my blood work in middle ground. Been a while since watching you videos, and All I have to say is WoW. It is very obvious Carnivore works for you just looking at the radiance you are exhibiting now it is Amazing. I do understand your decision about surgical intervention for excess skin. I am still intermittent fasting with Very Very slow results for Autophagy consuming excess skin. It is working for me. As a male of 64 and not dying from the S.A.D. " standard American Diet" I now have Time, Energy, Health, and Clear mind to continue on my journey for Fitness and overall well being. Convincing people that good, healthy food selection though being expensive is still cheaper per day of quality Life than the cost medical interventions that still can’t get you there. Keep up the good fight and spread the knowledge . Thanks Phil

We are a community, we should support and help each other as each of our goals should be a healthier "self". I have been carnivore 3 years after 7-8 on keto. I add sauces, spices, and some occasional stevia sweetened beverages too! I still consider myself carnivore because I am not adding fruits, veggies, etc., as I also have had an addiction to food. You will always have "those people that criticize". Keep doing what you are doing! You and Judy are two of my go-to's for support! It is never a one size fits all :)

I needed to fast more, eat more fat, eat more often blah blah blah. I was doing all of those. I still had days when I wanted a treat. I didn't give in but felt like man what am I doing wrong but listening to you I may not be doing anything wrong and I just occasionally have a craving. So good to hear you say you have that issue also. I do follow the rules. Meat eggs butter and that is it. Mostly beef

It doesn’t matter what diet you eat there’s going to be diet police. I was vegan as well for a while, and nobody was ever vegan enough. I really enjoyed watching this video because so much of it I could relate to. Seeing your success has very much been everything I needed right now. I’m currently going through the adaptation, so I’m having the strongest you can have. Exhaustion ,brain fog ,body aches, feeling like absolute crap but I know it’s my body changing to eat this way, and I just got to get through it.
Also, like you, my husband and I are on this together. He just started carnivore a few days ago maybe close to a week ago and he just started following me with the same symptoms. We really thought we were sick until I looked it up last night and found out this is just what you go through kind of like the keto flu but much worse. Thank you so much for making this video I just subscribed to your channel and I’m going to go back and watch everything. It really helps to find somebody that lost as much weight as I need to lose and the stories are pretty close. Also having your husband go through it too it’s very motivating because we are doing it together and that is good and helps a lot. It’s nice to see another couple made it to where we want to be and I’m very excited now to watch your journey. Not ready for the 48 hour fasts yet. I am not sure if I’ll ever be able to do that .At 62 years old the thought of not eating for a whole day let alone two just absolutely overwhelms me .I could do the intermittent fasting and eat one or two meals a day . I won’t say it’s impossible but right now that is very daunting to me. But I’m open minded and we’ll see if one day I can do that. My husband and I keep losing the same few pounds then we go down a little bit and then back-and-forth up and down and go down a little bit so it’s very slow going but we are in our 60s and we have a lot of repair to do in our bodies . I’m sure in time our bodies will start losing the weight a little better and especially if we do incorporate the intermittent fasting. Thanks so much for sharing your story here. I am pretty excited after watching this! I have to still lose a little over 100 pounds starting at 264 pounds .

When I get into dairy I can't seem to stop until I suddenly realize I'm all clogged up and any veggies cause bodily pain to start again. And yes, I understand about no "treats", I can't have just one bite because I won't be ok. You have been a great blessing to me, I thoroughly enjoy your cooking techniques and shopping trips. I faced the same thing in 2020. I went from 365 to 230 between 2107 and 2019. Everything shut down and I was under heavy stress working in healthcare and losing friends and patients. All of a sudden one cheat turned into old habits. When my weight got back into the 290’s earlier this year, it was the last straw. I admitted my sugar addiction to myself and am now rededicated to a diet that I am not addicted to. It is just too easy to lose control.

There`s even more to it. I started Keto / carnivore in 2018, too, because I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At that time I already had ulcerative colitis for over 20 years. Along with some fasting I lost 140 pounds in half a year and got rid of the u.c . Up to now I NEVER had to inject insuline or take another medication for my diabetes. I never had any "rollercoaster". Dang, your story is mine too. Just started the carnivore diet. On day 3. Have tried keto before and fell off the wagon after about 2-3 weeks. Spending time with family is what kept causing me to crash plus boredom with the foods. Family always has tons of carbs and deserts. Also, something you said really resonated with me. I realized that I could only lose as much as my self esteem would allow me to, which wasn't much. Once I progressing with weight loss I would get to a point where my mind would tell me "you don't deserve this" then I would inevitably snap back to the weight I was before, or higher. So, it's almost like your self concept, esteem and self worth has to change as well. Thank you for this video.
