    Ingredients:
Pancake mix of your choice, each McGriddle calls for 2 pancakes
    1 egg per sandwich
1 slice American cheese per sandwich
Sausage patties or bacon, 1 per sandwich
    1/4 cup 100% maple syrup
    Butter
    Directions:
Make pancake mix according to package directions. Set aside.
In a small pan over medium heat cook maple syrup until bubbling and thickened. Test the consistency, you're aiming for soft ball stage, by dropping some into a cup of cold water. If a soft ball form that stays together but is pliable, you are at the right consistency.
Dot the syrup over a baking liner or parchment paper and set it in the fridge for a few minutes to set. Pop the dots off once they've set and mix them into the pancake batter.
Coat a pan in butter over medium heat. Create pancakes about 3" in diameter and cook. Remove from heat. Prepare your meat and eggs to your liking.
Build your sandwich using the pancakes as the buns, layering the egg, meat and cheese inside. Enjoy!

My boy made these “McGridles” on Christmas Eve night. They were delicious but it took all night. 😂. Your method looks much more doable! Nice work Emily!! Emily rocks!

Haha give them a try! These were pretty easy and you could also just mix in a little syrup to the batter and make it even easier

I do a thing where I pour pancake batter in a circle (in the skillet); crack a couple of eggs in the center and then pour batter over the eggs. I was inspired by something Anthony Bourdain ate in an episode of "Parts Unknown" in Libya - a sfinz is what it's called. I didn't know you could sub out an Egg McMuffin egg on a McGriddle. Genius. You might've just changed my life with that hack idea. Thanks. Great as always!

I rarely eat Mickey D's, but I would definitely try this. Love the effort to get the maple syrup just right. 👍

Very clever integration of the maple syrup flecks. Will have to try this as a treat for the fam and hopefully time everything right so all the components are at a good temp when served.

I recommend cooking the pancakes first and then putting some foil over the top to keep the heat in if your making big batches

Would love to try this, it looks way better than McDonald’s. I’m also with you on the Kraft Singles, it’s the best cheese for grilled cheese and to eat by itself.

That looks amazing! I’ve never tried a McGriddle ever but will definitely try this at home. Since it’s Super Bowl weekend do you have a recipe for a hot pizza dip?
