In a band and with loud sound, the transducer microphones suffer feedback? can feedback be controlled in those situations?

Hi Jack, do you think that this type of pickup takes anything away from the acoustics of the guitar at all? Sorry Jack after watching a installation video I realized that this is a different style pickup. I just picked up a very clean Yamaha LS6M acoustic with a under saddle piezoelectric pickup. I don't see me using the pickup in the future and if this type is going to take away any tonal qualities I would rather remove it.

Hi Jack, do you prefer this over the JJB that you liked in other video? Same price basically. I always enjoy your reviews!

Its hard to say honestly as the guitars they're in are quite different. I think they're realistically very close.

Have you tried the Schatten HFN passive pickup? I’ve heard on youtube only and it sounds to me like a K&K or JJB without the low mid boom. I’d love to hear your take on it.

My favorite acoustic guitar pickup is the Trance Audio Amulet. Nothing I've found is better. It's a bit expensive though, so I only have it in one guitar ( Gibson Doves in Flight custom ) at the moment, but I hope to convert most of my acoustics to it eventually.

That's only because you haven't tried this Journey Tek EP001K pickup system yet. Trust me. Professional guitarists everywhere have, or are, discovering this Journey Tek system, and are now having these mounted in their own acoustic guitars. This system even rivals the highly heralded K&K Pure Mini system ( they look practically identical ) and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING delivers a more pure, acoustic sound. And to think this Journey Tek system only costs $50 US........the K&K Pure Mini now costs $150 US. Hey, to each his own, and if ya like the system you already have, more power to you. But I can assure you NOTHING sounds as pure & natural as the Journey Tek OR the K&K Pure Mini. Take it from JP Cormier...........he is world renowned as one of the greatest bluegrass/folk acoustic guitarists for the past few decades. His albums have won multiple awards, and he travels & does 200 to 250 shows worldwide, every year. Chet Atkins named JP Cormier as "the most important acoustic guitarist of these modern times"........end quote. Try one of these amazing ( only $50 ) Journey Tek systems on another one of your acoustic guitars, and I'm willing to bet the farm you will also be convinced my friend. So easy to install too, by yourself. I just purchased and installed these in all 4 of my acoustic guitars. 100% PLEASED. NO batteries, NO "internal microphone" that often induces annoying feedback at high volumes. You simply adjust all tone & volume via your acoustic amp/PA system, or a DI box that you can place on a stool right next to you on stage, which really isn't necessary for most applications. ( I've been gigging professionally myself here in east/central Florida for many many years. I began playing guitar & singing back in 1974. ) Wishing you & your family all the best.

Please see my other response. I forgot to mention: the compression of uploading this video to youtube is obviously horrible. Also: in the first scene using a pick & strumming, there was an un-Godly amount of trebles. I don't know if this gentleman prefers that tone, or if it was yet another youtube compression gliche. All 4 of my acoustic guitars with these pickups sound WAY better through My Boss Pro Singer acoustic amp.........vs what we're hearing on this video, and some of what is heard on this video/audio is fairly decent. But don't let this video ( or any other ) give you any false impressions on just how great this Journey Tek system sounds in ANY decent to top-shelf acoustic guitar.

First of all Mains comment was terribly rude and arrogant... With that said, It does sound quite tinny to me as well. That mid-range tinniness tends to lead to listener fatigue pretty quick. I'm wondering if what we are hearing is being caused by the lack of a preamp causing an impedance mismatch even with the amplifier. So what you're hearing is a over amplification of mid-range attack on the strings. When you play the low strings by themselves the low end sounds pretty good but that mid-range tinniness would drive me nuts. I'm used to playing a Cole Clark live which does kind of spoil me in terms of plugged in acoustic sound. It has without a doubt the best and most natural sounding guitar pickup system in existence. However I did purchase one of these journeytech pickups for my Taylor GS mini and I'm going to install it today. I will be using an LR bags gigpro belt clip preamp with it in hopes to get a more natural sound. Friend of mine has the k&k ULTRA pure system which includes a preamp inside the guitar. His guitar sounds fantastic. So much so that another friend with a high-end taylor guitar is having the taylor pickup removed and being replaced with the k&k ultra pure. The difference between the ultra pure and the pure system is that the "ultra pure" has integrated preamp that's minutes inside the sound hole, whereas the "pure" system is basically the same as this journey tech system. There's very minimal stuff inside the guitar. Just a couple of wires and the endpin Jack.

@@JackFossett acoustic guitar sound is something really difficult to control / master!!...the type of guitar, pickup and amp and mix of the three brings about infinite variations. So, recording and doing some "a-b" comparaison is a way to do it!!...also, keep in mind that certain pickups will not work well on certain guitars, so you might need to explore different pickup systems for your instrument. Then comes the tweeking, the eq'ing of the sound through a preamp, and/or on the amp or console!!...learning how to eq an acostic guitar is an art in itself!!...best of luck!!...

@@JackFossett don't forget that everyone watching/listening to this video has a different sound system and most of them probably aren't very good. mine sucks. on a youtube video it's not likely that good sound quality can be achieved.. Good demo..

@@JackFossett I have to agree with Mains. It sounds tinny. Why make your guitar sound like a lower model Taylor when Martins are known for rich tone. There was no tone. Maybe its the recording.
