    Thanks for the video. I have 2 Bafang setups (BBSO2 and BBSHD) and I am excited about these motors, especially since the CYC Photon is at $950 in the US. I really want to upgrade to a torque sensing mid drive motor. I have a torque sensing rear hub setup which I love.

    Got my motor installed yesterday and restricted the 1. level to 20 km/h and the 2. and 3. to 25. Still the motor gave me assistance far beyond that, so it's not really working, or I did something wrong...
    P.S. should those limits have an effect in all three modes (eco/city/sport)?

    Thanks for the overview. The ToSeven could be a great choice when someone is wanting something more than a Tongsheng , wants torque sensing the BBS02 doesnt , wants to use your existing battery the BBS M625 does not allow, but not pay the CYC Photon significant price. I will be watching the ToSeven closely to see if its a viable option for me. The only thing i don't get, is it appears you need to choose which voltage ToSeven version you want (e.g., unable in menu choose, 36v, 48v, 52v etc). Happy to be corrected , as if this is correct it is a deal breaker for me. I use a mix of 36v and 48v batteries from various bikes (Reention tigershark mount). Thanks

      @@HighVoltageKits thanks. When you test it, I would like your thoughts on the 500w version for road riding up a 1km 10% gradient . The thinking is if I get the higher power version it is heavier, and I will use more battery capacity (less range).

    I’m interested in the DM02. Especially interested about heat. Have looked at the TSDZ2 with open source and it seems like you need to do special stuff to keep it from overheating. Hoping that the DM02 resolves that. Looking forward to you testing the DM02 prefer 52V battery.

    What I would like to be able to do is set an ebike motor to a profile that conforms to the legal limitations for a certain jurisdiction eg 250W Max power and Max speed 15mph for the UK and then be able to load another profile, eg. 'unrestricted' if I want to use this configuration in a place where it is legal.
    It would be best but not essential if loading the alternate profile were not straighforward, eg it had to be done via a phone app so that the police could not accuse me of quickly changing the profile.
    Can this be done with any of these motors?

    • @HighVoltageKits
      @HighVoltageKits  Год назад +4

      You cam define the speed limit individually for each power level on the bike. The overall power is not definable. The power is set with the amps and the a % of that. In reality the police can only really test you for the speed limit. So if you can show the motor cuts off at 15.5 in a check you ought to be okay. Unless you were riding through a red light or something. There is no test for power outside a lab.

    Also exciting news is a new battery supplier coming aboard that you support. Many of us are particular about what battery cells we have in our batteries because cell quality is so hugely important therefore if we can buy a 52V battery from your supplier with known cells be it 18650 or 21700...name brand and cell model is critically important....Samsung, Panasonic etc...then we know what to expect in terms of discharge current and longevity aka cycle life.

      In ebike conversion motors there is the CYC stuff. The Photon at the lower power range and the X1 for higher power. There are a few other examples around but I do not know much of the merits of them. The CYC X1 is more powerful stock but also a bit more fragile and harder to fix and maintain when it goes wrong.

      These motors are open source and manufacturers want to sell as many units to individuals, vendors or suppliers as possible. They want these units to be able to satisfy many laws/restrictions. Could some of the programming or adjustments being not easily accessible be done on purpose? I imagine if these units were on bikes,such as a Specialized, they would sell them with certain restrictions preprogrammed to get around local ordinances/laws. Just a thought.
