thank you HP for creating series of laptops with such anonymous names to make it harder to find repair videos lol, but anyway, yeah this one is quite identical to the one i have... thanks for the video! cheers from the far east

Thanks for the video man. I have been trying to reformat this laptop model for a customer since 10am this morning and keeps overheating. Looks like the GPU is running at 90°C currently. I have it sitting up on books with a fan running under it just so I can reformat it currently. Working for now but I will be pulling apart today once reformat works. I have tried the whole "blow out the dust externally etc". I am trying to do my best to open the laptop as I wasn't being paid to do a full service.

if its an APU (CPU+GPU combined) it might be cooked and failed Chip
if it is, its unlikely repasting the cpu would help
But fingers cross it just that, that you need to do to fix it

@@rickstechrepairs yeah I think it's cooked. I mean the re-pasting got it down to running at about 50ºC this morning but it just died again while just updating outlook.

At 6:58 how did you manage to get those cpu screws out? Mine do not budge, maybe because the hole is too shallow?

Im thinking the number grade of the paste makes a difference as im using ARCTIC MX-4 2019 Edition - Thermal Compound Paste and it is still overheating, Any ideas that may help i would be very grateful

@@rickstechrepairs Do I need to reset the computer after replacing the thermal paste

@@ali-b3076 no it’s not a software issue, it’s a hardware issue so no reset needed, although this thing is running windows so expect it to automatically reset without your permission anyway
