Yeah that's a ridiculous title. It gives off a sense of gatekeeping, even though most successful commercial/narrative directors don't start till they're in their mid to late 20s. So don't worry mate, you got plenty of time.

Lol this video pisses me off, man. Its all about who you know and this kids not about to share that part. He’s not just shooting with friends on a Sony. He’s on $50,000 budget sets and has a team of Gaffers and grips with expensive studios and lighting at his leisure. But yea “send those emails”, right 🙄

It blows my mind that we treat this like it’s normal lol he’s on big budget productions and has a whole team working for him. He’s not just some kid with a Sony shooting with his friends. He’s tapped in , in ways that he’s not gonna share. It’s all about who you know.
Exactly, also he had to get money from somewhere to create his projects before getting paid work ops. He barely touches on that. How are some of us from less privileged backgrounds able to get the funding in order to shoot specs?
