one of the BEST examples of the (as I call it) three types of leadership is the movie Hidden Figures. The main three female characters exemplify the three main types of leadership. 1)Leading ones self....to make yourself better today than you were yesterday 2) To lead from the front....to show your team where you need to go and help them get there and 3) Leading from behind...that no matter your rank you can show those around you, even those who you report to, what good leadership looks like and inspire them to do better. In the movie these characters, in matching order are Mary Jackson (Played by Janelle Monae), Dorothy Vaugh (Played by Octavia Spencer) and Katherine Goble (Played by Taraji Henson). I encourage everyone to watch this movie twice...the first time purely to enjoy the movie and the second time to really watch and listen and see what the three key forms of leadership look like.

You’re right, anyone can be a leader, regardless of their position or title. As long as we have the willingness to learn and grow, we can aspire and guide those around us to become better versions of themselves.

Spot on Simon Sinek. There are many things that need to be introduced in curriculum at schools and university, leadership is one of them.

Teaching human skill is crucial - soft skills are the true foundation of effective leadership.

I love this man! He needs to talk to school districts and school leaders. They are some of the worst leaders I've worked for.

Bravo for backing-up the notion that “soft-skills” is nonsense vernacular in the context of Leadership. Human-skills as you describe it, are incredibly difficult to develop and cultivate especially under the constant challenges of business and industry. Thanks from a Leadership & Executive Coach in Calgary Alberta.

Simon, you never need feedback or anything about all here.
Sometimes if there's a bug or really going astray i comment something.
But now, I'm really feeling the grip of the movement. We all know this is slow, eternal, continuous work while always knowing clear where you going.
Please help reshape America ( u conduct us all in the end )
Bring groundiness back to the wealth building nation. Prayers, peace ✌🏼

I've had my share of bad leaders and good leaders during my 20 year career.
Many of the managers and partners I've been in team with have been bad leaders and even their skills to do their part of the workload aren't up to par with most of the junior and senior associates.
It seems like some places just promote people who happen to stay the longest in the company, not so much emphasis on their skills as a worker or leader.

Fair point but it would’ve sounded a lot more sincere if at half of the video it didn’t transform into a sales pitch (to me)

Didnt sound like a sales pitch to me. Sounded like him letting everyone know what his purpose for him being there is. Im pretty sure the host already paid for him to be there.
