The One took me to Daydreaming territory. But instead of a booming solo after the second chorus, the solo was built into the song. Best song on the album. Yup, I said it. Fight me.
Love your reactions. The look on both your faces on Forbidden Tale when the fast, heavy part comes in is just pure gold lol. I was the same. It gave me goosebumps. Fucking rocked. It’s their best album for me. Hopefully, with them now being self-managed, they’ll finally announce an Australian tour. One can hope.
Just finished listening to this and great Livestream! So much fun!!! Ryan's comment after listening to TAMAYA!, "I just heard the best song on the album, now I just heard another one!". That's for real the overarching sentiment with this band for sure! BAND-MAID is like hiking through beautiful mountains in the countryside. You get to a bend and think "this is the best view".... Then a few miles along the path and another one opens up and you think "no, this is the best... But the other view was JUST as awesome!".... How can we ever decide? Natural forces are at work here! 😉🎶🎶🎶🎶 (No sorters we used in the making of these decisions ぽ!🤪) I am making my daughter watch this too!🤘

Hello O&R. I just watched your reaction to Forbidden Tale. You both lost it at the same time I did when I first heard this truly wonderful piece of music. I have the feeling that sometime in the near future Band-Maid will take to the stage with an orchestra.
I missed the premiere but it was a really fun watch!, i mean, it always fun to see you (and Ohrenje) being blown away by Band-Maid Poor Ohrenje... how many times this band will make him cry?, with songs, music videos, not touring Europe lol
Some thoughts throughout: How?? How do they keep doing this?? Every album, they push themselves, but never lose themselves in it. It always sounds like band maid but its always shocking on first listen. I give up. I have no bearing for what limits are anymore, it's scary and awesome. I actually believe they will achieve world domination however they define it. And god damn do they know how to finish an album. Its always like this. The last few tracks just drive you up a wall and you hit the floor and look up asking for one more!! Forbidden tale-: I feel like they said "hey, lets make a song we can play in the middle of the set where they will all cry and headbang for a while." Also can't wait to see a translation for this. I'm sure its just me trying to cope but I coulda sworn she said "I hope you cried" right after I teared up lol Brightest star: Too soon to say if I like it more than Sayonakidori but this genuinely feels like the next level progression of that song to me. Most of the things I loved, with a little more oomph. And while this doesn't have the awesome vocal flex, I highly suspect the live renditions of this in the future will be the long awaited Miku guitar flex and I can not wait to see that in person. Not to mention the look that will be on her face when we're all losing it after she just crushed it. Go easy: Yep, that's what I would call a generic band maid song. It will bounce in and out of my 10 favorite songs on a monthly basis forever now... Toi et moi: What can I say? I was one of those fans that said I could not have a favorite song and that a handful of songs floated in and out of my top five. But eventually I gave it up and admitted that "why why why" was the only song that never left my top five. Therefore it must be my favorite song.. Enter Toi et moi, (Are you serious??? I just figured this out a couple months ago!) It's real good too lol. Get to the top: That has got to be the most f'd up thing I've ever heard as the "hook" but for Mincho, that's just chill mode so she can just casually flex on the rest of us like that. End of the day, once again they have crushed my high expectations. Hope I see some of you in the crowd soon!!!
For me its a Saiki's album, no chit chat strike blow in your face. A testament to their strong will to go by their own hands. And I agree with Ohranje, the Brigtest Star is sound like Cluppo with BAND-MAID (Kanami-Misa-Akane) as her backing band. Kinda Becky-ist or Sheena Ringgo
Give Kanami a rest. You can already hear that she is tired. Give her a vacation for 2-3 years. Start a family, have a child. She is very tired. It has been noticeable all year 2024. Freedom for Kanami!!!
I must confess my sin. My first hear through I was thinking like "oh wow, this album is easy to rank my favourite. maybe i'll give it a try". Then I listen through again a couple times and realize how idiot i am. Every song has its own flair which I can't just place one above another. (while i'm typing this comment, I am unconscious humming The one🤣). Ranking attempt failed again!
The thing about Bestie that don't sink in with me is that lack of change in the second verse compared to their other songs. It's still sweet and lovely song but not as engaging in my personal opinion. But yes it has grown on me. Kanami composed The One keeping in mind it possibly being the last song Band-Maid play. I love this song, but hope it's not going to be their last song.

Yes. it's different from other tracks, and it's pleasant but feel like some thing's missing (that's how I feel anyway) and Show Them is definitely hard rock, a bit like Manners but completely different from Manners. Wonder which you like better. I think I heard the subtle influence of Incubus in some new songs though. I might be imagining. 😅
I prefer Honkai though. This is my least fav on this album. Still good and I won't ever skip any song. 11 songs out of 14 songs are already in my top 20.
Something to consider about their decision to go independent: their time with Platinum Passport also happened to be their slowest output. Their output volume is still way above most other rock bands but, still... I'm wondering if this will be a return to the album-and-change/year pace they used to have.
Just quickly Ryan, you did ok in french, but you really butchered the german word Magie. It's pronounced like Mah - gee (gee like in gear or geek). I just thought you'd like to pronounce the songs of your favorite band the right way 😉

It is like being a fan of The Beatles in 1970 always complaining they shoud go back to the Hard Day's Night era. It is just not going to happen.

And the Gaijin Guys review : two of these guys were so uninterested in the album that they didn't even listen to half of it before the video. They looked bored the whole time. These are red flags.
This album got the most listens for the YEAR for me. I love it. I don't understand why people want them to keep playing the same stuff. I want to hear where they will go

The whole album is great. But for some reason "the one" just draws me in. I'm not even sure what it is about it. I need lyrics lol.
