By releasing concerts on stream and/or DVD/Blu-ray they can do smaller venues and still maintain contact with a large fan base. I'm in no shape anymore to go to live shows and really enjoy that I can see them live on pro-video and am not limited to fan cams which have their place but are often not great sonically due to the limitations of the mics and positioning of the person shooting the video.

I too was interested in Miku backstory. My thoughts on why she was successful in starting Band-Maid.
Since Miku was part winner in an idiot contest and spend time in an idiot group that didn’t workout. Management knew that she had appeal to an audience. She showed them her was willingness to put in the hard work and the Maid concept was not usual in Japan and the gap she promotes does sound interesting...so why not. We know our little pigeon is not afraid of hard work!
Great interview looking forward to the next one.
    🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!

There was, in Chicago I believe, the Saiki "word of the day" tsuiteru, lucky, and she applied it to Miku, "You're lucky - you have luck" as in she found Kanami which led to Akane and then Misa. However as in poker, which Miku is also very good at, it isn't the luck but how you recognize the luck when it happens and leverage it to get where you want to go. And how you recognize the bad luck and deleverage it to minimize the harm. That is one of Miku's abilities as I see it.
I love the documentaries you have done and also the ones that came with the TGT and Yokari sets. The behind the scenes of Yokari especially have made me love them all even more.

Great PO-cast! PO!🕊 Fantastic conversation. As for Kasper's question on place. I've been in several different places in the venues. They are all fantastic as seeing and experiencing the Maids is fun AF! The rail is fun as you get caught up more in the energy of the Maids. And you get to see the facial expressions. You have a good opportunity to catch a pick or a stick. But you are right, if you're standing in front of MISA, you are going to get more bass. I had that experience at Sacramento. I was actually lucky to catch a MISA pick at that show. If you're in front of Kanami, you get a bit more lead. San Diego I was on the Kanami side. Almost got a pick. Bounce off some guys behind me. Didn't know i was standing on it. And there was some guys crawling around. I turned around and shined my light on my phone. I took a small step back and there it was and the guy crawling on the ground snatched it. Boo!😫 And if you are in the middle, You get the vocals and a decent mix of the bass and guitar, but I do feel you get to "feel" the drums. I was just off center in the second row at Portland. I've been in the side middle standing, New York. It was good, but I had taller guys in front of me, so it kind of sucked. In LA Balasco, I paid to be in the "private" box. Johnathan Lane was there too. That was great, as the sound booth was next to the VIP booth. And the both Johnathan and I agreed, the sound was amazing! In Yokohama Arena, I was in the back with a lot of other Gaijins....LOL. Just being there in the environment, made it a fantastic show. Sound wise, it was awesome and the full visuals of the lighting and video board, was amazing. I wish I was in the middle pit area right in from the runway though...😆 At some of the other Japan shows, I've been in the upper level in the seated area. Some of these shows, the lower level are seating and others had standing. The sound has been great in the back. So having been in different parts of the venues, to your point the venue design can affect the sound, but at the end of the day...for me...if I can get to the rail, then yes, I love the rail, even if the sound may not be the best overall. But if I can't get to the rail, I would prefer to be further back and higher if there is an option. Middle works only if it's an all seating assigned venue with a slope floor, Line Cube Shibuya Acoustic. Of course, people still will often stand even in Japan. I was in the balcony at the Yokohama spin off show and almost everyone was standing. Just some of my thoughts...I'm sure each show, venue and persons experience may vary... PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

Please, please, please Band-Maid announce a European tour in 2025. I'll get my old, tired butt on an airplane and fly there to catch a few shows. My favorite miku moment, when She shows the guitar that Tony Visconti gave her to use ( a Zemitus 12 string electric) the other guitar is owned by the George Harrison estate. ) she was afraid to use it because, miku wispers into the microphone " Someone scratch the top. The audience starts chanting "play it! Play it ! Miku starts to put her hands up motioning for the people to stop chanting, she then tells them in my favorite angry raspy Pigeon voice "Please Be quiet!!" 😂😂😂

So keep on the good work, you are one essential piece of the BM institution.

I always thought Saiki was saying "vocalist Saiki desu", not "boku wa". I'll definitely be listening closer next time.
I think the only time we've seen the real Kanami is what we've seen from some rare rehearsal videos, and her composing during "Band Camp". I think she goes all-in on this character like Andy Kaufman so even in behind-the-scenes stuff from like the US tour Blu-ray she turns it on. I think, except maybe Akane, they all play characters (Misa is apparently really girly in contrast to her image; Saiki very recently said that she was always trying to act cool; and of course Miku is apparently an old man, which is pretty much the opposite of her pigeon character). I think Kanami being away with the fairies is appealing because of "the gap" it creates with her musical genius.
Regarding "Epic Narratives" I'm on the side of too many songs released beforehand, and I can't rationalise it away. Even at the most basic level, listening to the whole album, it results in an uneven experience because I've heard the old songs 4 or 5 times more than the new ones, so I want to rush to the new ones.
    That Fukuoka setlist is incredible!
    Thanks for the cool conversation!

47:46 - That is precisely what drew ME into BAND-MAID, Saiki's voice is peculiarly and uniquely EXACTLY what I needed and WANTED to hear, (even though I didn't know it at the time) and Her harmonies with Miku, (although I already liked PUFFY AmiYumi and the Peanuts aka 'Mothra Girls') I find that these MAIDS are far more pleasing to listen to for longer periods of time.
