I was there yesterday (7/17/2024). First time in 11 years (I was 10 when I first went). This ride made me scared of wooden roller coasters back then because I had my head down, eyes closed, then hit my head on the bar after a bump. This time around, I kept my eyes open and head up on every ride I went on and loved them. Same with Shivering Timbers. It's probably now my favorite ride there!
I love Zach zoomed but it was my first time there in like 5 years bc of COVID, we used to go every year up until COVID but we went 6 days ago (probably going in Friday this week) and before COVID the only roller coaster I went on was the Big Dipper, my picture was so funny on it, I was sweating and crying (I was like 6 or smt) but yeah when o went on Zach zoomer last time I had the most embarrassing scream ever so if I go this week I can’t really find my self on shivering timbers
This actually was the first non-kiddie roller coaster ive ever ridden! It was my bithday and i rode it so i could ride all of the other rides without fear. passed out near the end lol, Thunderhawk is a great ride too, just make sure to keep your head back so you dont headbang 😂
MI Adv is underrated, too. Great family park with plenty of great rides. I will say that ST had a bad "hop" in the track on the first or second drop (I can't remember which one" that actually hurts. I remember when the trick-track was still in it and it almost gave you whiplash. Glad they removed that, as a coaster can be rickety feeling without leaving you with a headache that almost ruins the rest of your day. That being said, ST is still a great coaster and could just use a few tweaks to make it world class again.
I have been on this ride hundreds of times, when I was very young till now, it’s gotten so shaky and we need rmc to help this ride out, it had to get e-braked 4 weeks ago at the top for failure, it’s so sad
CCI will always be the greatest wooden coaster manufacturer in my opinion. Their sheer variety and classic wooden feel will forever be unmatched to me.
The great American roller coaster at the Atlanta, Georgia six flags sucked. My butt hurt so bad after that ride I felt every loose nail on the track lol😂
The air time is incredible on this one. Riding it in person, you can hear the wheels leave the top of the hills, only being held on by the up-stops. The train gets eerily quiet for a second each time it happens!
I am so glad I saw a video of shivering timbers, and I did it wolverine wildcat to see if I would like it. No I do not like the big lots I would pass out if I did that my stomach was wrong door by felt like I was gonna get sick. I do not have motion sickness. I’ve done a Spinny ride a Michigan adventure very very very funny and I just do not like those big drops. I would literally passed out and so I did not do that for us just the Wolverine wildcat not never doing again.
I just rode this coaster today. I had heard good things about it, so much so that I tacked a trip to Michigan's adventure on to the end of a trip I planned with my GF to king's Island and cedar point just so we could get on it. I have to say, it was underwhelming. The maintenance on the coasters at this park is lacking, and on the woodies, the rides are unbearably rough, with the notable exception of the stretches of titan track on wildcats revenge. I thought at least it would have airtime to make up for it, but the airtime was underwhelming.
I'm sorry but it was VERY underwhelming when I rode it, plus WAY too many laterals, my neck was hurting coming off of it. Weak Airtime in the front, horrible jackknifing in the back
It’s good that people are giving it more recognition now! CCI is great. Rampage is also one of the most underrated woodies in the USA too!
michigans adventure is so underrated, every time i go there i can’t stop going on thunderhawk it’s amazing

As someone who works at Michigan Adventure it's awesome to see ST here! We have two other wooden coasters, Wildcat and Zach's Zoomers.

Great for views and sensation of speed, but the back has the intensity of the forces.

Yeah a day after this rollercoaster, I couldn’t move my neck properly cause it was stiff and I had body aches. Went away in 2-3 days

The turn section from the first half going to the second half is pretty tough but other than that its cool.
This ride was so scary and I had a lot of fun being in my hometown in Michigan and being able to spend time with my family 😁

Thunderhead? MI-Adv has 2 woodies: Wolverine Wildcat and Shivering Timbers (not including the kiddie coasters). Also has Thunderhawk (steel inverted).
