You are so welcome! Thank you for the lovely feedback. Hope you’re enjoying projects on your overlocker now! It really opens up a whole new world of sewing 😘❤️🥰
I've had my overlocker for a few months and i really found you video so useful i always watch you every time i change colour such a brilliant video thank you so much x
I just got the exact same overlocker and used your tutorial to thread and used the machine for the first time. So helpful, thank you! Completely new to the overlocker world and started watching a few videos, yours was the most direct and to the point, with helpful information - thank you!
It was my first time using an overlocker. With your tutorial I was up and running with no problems making pyjama bottoms! Thank you for the clear instructions and excellent camera work.
My overlocker arrived today, my first one. I spent ages before I bought it, searching for instructional videos, and this is fabulous! Despite the machine arriving all threaded, I cut the threads and began to thread it myself. Did it within a few minutes thanks to your marvellous instructions and my first practice run was perfect. Thank you!
This makes me so happy to read! I am so glad you threaded the machine successfully! How are you getting on with it? If you’re using it a fair bit, don’t forget to dust inside and give it a little oil just it to keep it running smooth. Hope you’re enjoying your new fabulous overlocked edges! 😘❤️🥰
My wife has been trying to do this properly for days and roped me in to help - this is a very good guide - slowly taking you through the steps - many thanks for posting
Hi! Thanks so much for the lovely feedback. I understand how frustrating and difficult threading the overlocker can be. Hope your wife gets up and running okay! All the best, Sam
Just got my first overlocker. Your tutorial was excellent, great pace and made it so easy. I’d read the manual but it was a bit daunting. Thought I’d have a look online before trying the dvd that came with the machine. I’m so glad I did. Many thanks!
Oh what a life saver of a video. Thank you so much. My overlocker arrived today and i didn't dare begin to set it up. Thanks to you i now feel confident to sit down in the morning and set it all up. 😊👌👍
@@SewinginSwitzerland and I set it up!!! Goodness knows how I would have done it without your video - and I'm not at all fazed by mechanical stuff usually but this one is a challenge for the best of us. I think I can see now why the spools are so large 😊 . You wouldn't want to go whipping those off and on on a frequent basis. Anyway.....I overlocked the edges of the fabric that came with my newest cross stitch kit and it WORKED. Phew. Thank you again for putting out such a truly helpful video.
Grrrrrreat tutorial; very helpful after taking off all the packaging and going through the parts and functions in the manual I found it all a bit daunty looking at all the metal loops and threads loops 😮. You have restored my confidence and I now know I can do it. Much gratitude going out to you. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much! I completely understand how overwhelming it can feel and look. Please reach out if you get stuck at any point and I’ll do my best to assist. It’s more fiddly than tricky, just a case of knowing what goes where! Enjoy your new machine - overlocking really is fab! 😘❤️
Oh Thankyou so much for this! My machine arrived yesterday. The thought of threading it was so daunting to me. Hey presto I ve done it! It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. You explained it brilliantly. I'll definitely be following you on Instagram. X
Thankyou so much for this very helpful vidio. I would have been lost without it .I will be subscribing to you channel. I look forward to using your othere videos thanks again.
Hi at 11:04 you show the thread being passed under the arm connected to the rod, later in the video this seems to be over the arm (21:00 for example) is this a mistake or how it should be? I have an issue where the machine starts correctly, but I get lose loops on the back, when I cut the chain to release the fabric, I have 6 threads not 4, one is looped around the neck (where you are pointing to at 7:25), this can be pulled out to leave 4 threads, but it keeps doing it every time. I have rethreaded the machine multiple times, cant understand why its doing it. Thanks for any assistance
I see this also. I was used to threading my 1034D (no issues) so I'm watching this to see what's different with threading the M343D. On the 1034D it stays as it's first done here, left under the looper arm.
I noticed when you put your thread onto the holder, you then went through the holes. What about the hooks? Do you not wind the thread around them? Also do you move the tension dials when you thread up the machine?
Hiya, what hooks do you mean? On the display panel with the numbered hooks or somewhere else? No I don’t adjust the tension dials - I would leave them and then adjust depending on the fabric you are working with. It’s best to run a scrap piece of the fabric you plan to use through the Overlocker, just a few stitches to check the tension is correct and adjust if needed. If you let me know what type of fabric you’re using for your project, I can make tension suggestions (but still worth doing the practice piece). Hope that helps! ❤️🤞
Should the lower looper thread be resting over the upper looper arm? When you thread the lower looper you don't do this but at the end of that section it's above the arm, as it is when the upper looper threading begins. It's confusing.
Hi Samantha please help ive threaded my serger using your instructions and every time the second thread keeps coming out of the hole numbered 9 its like a magic trick because it doesn't snap or tangle. It just comes out of the hole whilst still being entwined with the other threads. Ive been dying to use it but im really fed up with it not working . Have you ant advice . 😭🙏 Thankyou.x
Hi Elaine, no worries, let’s puzzle it out together. There will be a reason it’s happening and we can work together to find out what’s pulling it free. Firstly are you threading each one from right to left, starting at the very far right thread spool? All the best, Sam xox
Hi thanks so much - that’s great advice! I do actually own a pair but I wanted to make it a total beginner video that allows someone to thread it with no extra tools needed. Wishing you a wonderful day 😘❤️
I just used your tutorial to thread my machine and it works perfectly. The only issues I keep having is that my machine isn’t cutting away the excess fabric so sometimes it gets stuck with the machine🥲 Do you know how I can fix this?
Brilliant tutorial Really like your tone and speed Thank you👍

This is the best tutorial for my Brother overlocker. You show every step so clearly. I had been doing it wrong after following another one.
So helpful thank you! Used this to thread my new overlocker for the first time

Hi dear just a bit of advice please buy bent nose long tweezers you will be able to thread the machine a lot quicker.

I can see why brother provide a pair of tweezers to help with the threading
A magnifying glass would help too 😂🙈
