- Welcome to the fifth video of my photo trip to Svalbard.
We had some windy conditions and visited a glacier with some very nice dramatic sky. On our way out of the fjord we spotted a polar bear resting between some rocky area and went into our zodiacs. Even a polar fox showed up.

Hello Alfred, very enjoyable video's, I am recently back from an early July trip myself with Arctic wildlife tours, I am assuming you were perhaps visiting in June as there is clearly more snow and ice around than when I arrived, we never made the drift ice as it was apparently 120 miles offshore. during our 10 days we only had one day polar bear experience so it seems you were far more lucky than us, congratulations on your videos and images I really did enjoy, thanks for sharing and well done. I will be returning one day!
Hi John. Yes, we were at the end of June, beginning of July and even then it seems we had less snow and ice. The climate changes are very visible on Svalbard, which had some heat records this year. My first trip to Svalbard I've done back in 2017 in the beginning of Mai and then you had a lot of snow in Longyearbyen. I hope you had great trip with Arctic Wildlife Tours, even if you just had one polar bear experience. You defianetly have a better chance to see more bears earlier in the season. 😊 Greetings from Northern Norway 🇧🇻😊
May i ask how much was the cost of this trip? Spectacular nature and wildlife
There are several companies which offering these kind of trips with smaller groups of 12 passengers focusing on landscape and wildlife photography. This was my third trip to Svalbard and I always used Arctic Wildlife Tours. They have very good guides and I have seen 8-19 polar bears each trip. Look at www.arcticwildlifetours.com for the price. 😊
