I think I am understanding this song so differently now.
The phrase "girls just want to have fun" seems to be turned around by the main character to mean "I need to be free."
I loved the arrangement. I was close to tears, which has never happened with this song before.

The original version was sung by a dude as a more punk-esqu song. Very different meaning to the song. Music affects lyrics to a pretty crazy extent.

Paired back, well-executed and all-round delightful! I love the way you layer in sweet vocal harmonies and subtle keys parts just when we think we've reached a comfortable plateau, but everything fits just right without cluttering up the mix.

As far as interacting with the videos, I honestly often feel speechless at the end of one of Stacey's songs and can't think of any words that would do justice to what I heard and how I feel. The beautiful melody of the singing and playing is so delightful and mellow and perfect, and so talented, and Stacey is so beautiful too. It's a nice feeling of being blissed out and lost for words. She's so good. At least I can say I'm proud to be a Stacey Ryan fan.

Hi! I've been playing guitar since I was 7 but never had the patience to learn to finger pick like that! Do you have any tips or videos or did you just learn by practicing? Also would be amazing if you wrote the chords you use in the info box! :) Your but folk videos give me life hahahah
Once you know your chords real well, practice playing your 3 little strings with your index, major, ring finger, (each small string has only one finger) and the 3 big strings with your thumb. Start by just going 1-2-3-4 (thumb-index-major-ring) and bit by bit, add some stuff, such as playing more than one string at the same time, playing up and down (index-major-ring-major-index of ring-index-major-index for instance, while keeping a steady bass with your thumb on the low thick strings, alternating between the E and A or E and D strings. Keep your fingerpicking hand nails a bit longer than your fingers and try to keep your wrist straight and relaxed (not bending).
Play this over some nice chords (let’s say Am, Dm, G, Cadd9 and a little E thrown in there from time to time) and voila! Folk
