- Great buildings are man’s creative expression on a national scale. The diversity of materials and objects that restorers must work with requires specialists who understand technologies and manufacturing processes that became obsolete a long time ago. From gilders applying thin layers of gold leaf to cabinets makers and textile workshops that restore palace furniture to craftsmen and artists who restore ceramics, paintings, and frescos, we explore the diversity of techniques and processes needed to restore palaces, monasteries, and cathedrals.

More documentaries just like this one pretty please!
Amazing
WOW! AMAZING STUFF 😮 Thanks for sharing..
Absolutely stunning! I loved the part of how the artisans maintained the same level of attention to detail even though it would never be seen. Makes me sad for today where the most important thing is money.
They skipped the part that states how many of these items were looted.
Spectacular documentary.
Wow! What a delightful way to present the skills and knowledge of these devoted artisans.
We are strong!!
Did anyone catch which palaces this was filmed in? I caught Madrid but not the others.... thanks!
Name of painting at 1:30?
I think that is Guernica by Picasso,
Which palaces, in which cities! Kings and princes of which royal houses? You may have said at the beginning of this documentary, but that didn't broadcast on my viewing of You Tube.
good documentary but the camera is working tooooo.... much to fast for any details appreciation... what a shame!
You had your time on Earth and choose to critic, someone's camera work. What a waste!
Didn't Orwell say, High Art only preserves something and the something it preserves, means nothing and therefore. There is no value to any of it.
If we choose to recycle the same mistakes, we will make them all again.
This guy talks like Nick Drake sings.
Is ITALIAN palace built 3 Famous Italian Architect ...
Wondering whether this is an AI voice.
Me too. After listening I think it's a human. I think some of the "strangeness" may be due to the script. It's a little awkward. Like it's a translation from another language.
@@Tmanaz480 Sounds like Peter Serafinowicz; British actor/comedian.
Could be the voice of a foreign speaker who is very good in English
Terrible commentary. Banal, disjointed, often sounds like a bad translation from another language.
Yes wondering whether its an AI blabbing
Mm. Find money in the budget for full time fire watchers.
Tedious and poorly translated.
I love art history but I just didn’t like the way this was done. It’s narrated in its entirety by a pretty unexciting (but lovely) voice. I wish there were interviews and other voices.
The voice sounds a little like King Charles.
I don't understand this Art🥲
I don't understand this.
I don't like Guns & I'm scared of the them🥲
tyrannical governments feel the same way.. it’s a double edged sword.
You can stand around in History, making no point at all!!
