I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody make ribbons like that through a straight pour. I have seen people wreck the pour with a comb or a skewer or the lip of the cup, maybe paint a small line with a popsicle stick, but I’ve never really seen anybody pour ribbons on top of the straight pour that really look like ribbons and are so fluid. It gives the piece so much movement. I am absolutely loving this. Very unique. Gorgeous!!!!!!

I cant wait to get the glue and poly... My cousin loves Burgundy and she will love this as much as I do... We paint together most of the time and help each other out.. So all of the paintings that we do are ours we say.. We are 1st cousins with twin sisters, and have grown up together our whole lives.. Just 4 months apart. We are now 55. My twin sister Linda passed away in an accident at 40. Without my cousins- sisters Chrissy and Carolyn I wouldnt have made it through.. Carolyn and I love watching your videos and learning from you.. Thank you so very much..

Awww, I'm sorry! I know you've used Artist's Loft Ready-Mixed paints before...the ring and ribbon works pretty well with them...maybe give those a try?

This has inspired me! My lifelong friend’s oldest daughter just moved into her first apartment, and I have been wanting to make her something for her walls but didn’t know what. Her favorite color is pink, of all things! I am going to modify this color scheme slightly and try out a similar ribbon pour. Wish me luck!!
Great piece, Chris! It reminds of when I was a teen and maroon and pink was the trendy style for awhile. About the same time, my school colors were maroon and grey. So I had a trip down memory lane with this piece. The colors did go together beautifully. When you asked what colors to add, I was think8ng that chrome would be wonderful if it’s a shiny chrome! Some shiny ribbons reflecting light would be wonderful.

I used to do paintings like this and I'd torch it afterwards. I'd get amazing little Galaxy type cells wherever I torched. You should try It! Love the color combinations here!

Hi Chris! I just love the sharp, crisp edges of your ribbons. Have you tried using corner savers. It's just cardboard you fold and then open to hold on the corners so you don't lose too much of your design when you tilt. Sometimes, it's sad to see a really neat part fall off the corner. just a thought.

I love these ring and ribbons, so I tried one last night. I followed your pm recipe but got crazing. I’m not sure if it’s from the water or paint. Do you think a little gac800 would interfere with your recipe?
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt as long as the consistency was still correct. I don't have an issue with cracking/crazing with this PM with the exception of one time when I poured over a previous pour...then it cracked like crazy! By chance did you do that? Possibly it's the paint brand? Though I've used several brands without any issues. Is it hot where you are? Those are the only reasons I can think of why it would craze.
