I love it. You remind me so much of my Granddaughter, who has been described as "joyous" by so many people that actually, I just thought it must be the word of the day, but it wasn't. It's who she really is and I think you are too, don't ever change. You are a delight and I love this transformation! I love antiques, so this is right up my alley. AND, as a beginner, it's something I could handle, although the hardware will be hard work!
Your granddaughter sounds like she is my kind of person!!! I am like this probably 90% of the time, I love to make people happy and laugh and life is way too short to not be happy or well maybe it's too long to NOT live with happiness lol.....
You are one in a million! Not many would go to the lengths that you do to make your vision come to completion.
You know I always say if something is worth doing it's worth doing well. I really really enjoy going the extra mile for things, I don't even realize it is something I do until people say "that was labor intensive" or "too much work for me" But they do say if you love what you do it won't feel like work :)

So I should have talked about the hardware it was cheap, I think the entire makeover was maybeeee $100-$110 ? Not too bad the hardware is fairly cheap

Oh my goodness! I love this piece! I just had that idea and wasn't sure how to do it. You have inspired me greatly!!! I had never done any furniture renovations except for turning an old library table into my "cow" work table. (The bottom has a support piece and it stuck out so I pai Ted it with spots and cow faces at each end) I loved it. I began looking on line for ideas for a secretary desk I got at an auction (for $10) and found you!!! I have been doing this for a short while now and loving it! Thank you

I love this look and your transformation turned out great 👍 I am so glad you showed us how to do the drawers with a handsaw. I know it was probably more time consuming than using a power tool but I'm building my diy arsenal so I found it very helpful.
That's exactly WHY I used it, I think it is the most user friendly really, using any of the other stuff requires a little more control and is also not quite as forgiving if you make a mistake :)

Amazing as usual! Totally get the lipstick issue too. The way I get it off is to reapply some of the lipstick and wipe it off with a cloth.

It looks great. Personally I would alter 2 things though. The card holders make the piece look a little busy, just the handles would have done the trick., or use card holder handles which are available. And secondly the faux drawers needed a slightly bigger gap, say 3mm. It would make the piece look more authentic. I know when using a hand saw it’s difficult to do that but if you are going to do more of these I would invest in a trim router., you can pick them up fairly cheap. Mine cost approx €70. I only mean this as advice and not criticism as what you do is great and you are such fun xx
