Big tech needs to change its ways of thinking - colonization is still deeply rooted in the supposedly “new world” of technology and represents a huge brake on progress.
This is the proposition of Christoph Hassler, consultant for diversity, equity and inclusion and trained communication designer with many years of experience in visual design and UX.
In his DEEP DIVE, Christoph shows how the Western perspective is limited and shaped by colonial thinking. Materially, we exploit Indian clickworkers just as we exploit Africas natural resources. But ideologically, too, we rely on the narrow basis of European knowledge. Christoph advocates opening up, allowing diverse voices and listening to everyone. Because only then do we have a chance of overcoming the challenges of our time. To save what can still be saved.
