Fun fact: Alpine ask Michelin to make the tires with less grip because it wasn't really fun. Michelin said that it was the first time that a manufacturer ask for less grip on tires.

There is a mechanical action on the exhaust line between the normal and sport mode that tame or unleash the engine sound.

And all the reviews say the same : it makes people happy. Plus that there are extremely long to produce (handcrafted) so there Will not be many.

Alpine has always basically been Renault. The first Alpine was a modified Renault 4CV that the brands founder, who was a Renault rally driver, used to win. Subsequently the Alpine cara were basically built in conjunction with Renault and Renault bought the whole brand in 73. Ever since then Alpine has been basically Renault's sport coupe division. They even almost always had some renault branding on them, including the diamond.

Once you get used to this and memorize all the buttons it's the best thing ever. You can do anything you want with the radio (you can even access your phone and make phonecalls) without even looking and you don't need 20 microscopic buttons on the steering wheel. It may seem weird if you have never had an opportunity to get used to it, but as I said, once you get a hang of it it's really comfortable to use.
As you can see, the reviewer complained about small radio controls on the infotainment screen while having big and easily accessible remote behind the steering wheel, that's typical for people who have never used this feature :)
Why change something that works well? :)

Renault always made a total design revolution with every generation of their cars, so something must have kept them from changing the radio remote as well. Maybe coming up with different but equally ergonomic shape of this device is not as easy as we think?

are you sure it's the same gearbox as in Megane RS? Alpine has 7 gears while Megane has 6.

I thought they developed a new dct because they were not happy with the renault transmission. Heard that because many wished to see a manual option but they hadn’t enough money to develop both, so they decided on the dual clutch.

@@lucamuller6729 It's not a new transmission, neither it's a Renault's transmission. It's a Getrag dual clutch, Renault uses it as "EDC" in the rest of their lineup (Megane, Talisman, Scenic, you name it), of course gearbox software varies from comfortable in family models to aggressive and fast in sport oriented models. BMW and Mercedes both use the same transmission in their transverse engine layout cars as well.
Alpine officials said that all those linkages that manual requires would actually make the car heavier, so that's why there's no manual version.

      Megane has a 6 speed EDC, A110 has a 7 speed Getrag

@@bimbeano EDC is designed and made by Getrag, they just have different gear sets, this gearbox has 6 and 7 speed variant. Talisman has 7 speed EDC/Getrag for example.

arekb5 oh ok, thanks! I wasn’t aware its such a popular transmission.. pretty cool too, if they scraped the manual only because of weight savings! Thanks for the info

Lightweight = fun. Similar to a GT86/BRZ, but the interior is so much nicer than a GT86/BRZ, but will it last with it being Renault? If the centre console already wobbles, I have my doubts.
Also, not sure on the front lights.
