Just having the most HR’s doesn’t make you the best player. All the baseball analysts say Ruth because he was the best pitcher and hitter at one point during his career while not only hitting for power but also average .342 over his career. Ruth lost multiple years to pitching early in his career so if he had never pitched he would have 900+ homers. With or without injuries he wouldn’t have been better than Mays and definitely not better than Ruth 😂

not religious but some numbers have meaning. number 6 mark of the beast. 3+3 = 6, 9 up side down is 6 . 2+4 =6. the great players wore these numbers. kobe, Kareem Jabar, grant hill , Shaquille, Jordan usa number. larry bird. dr.j. many more.
No pitching, like ZERO pitching, after Randy, who left in '97. Trading Tino Martinez and Jeff Nelson for Sterling Hitchcock, and then Derek Lowe and Jason Veritek for Heathcliff Slocumb, so it wasn't surprising.

So nice to hear him talk about hard work. On the surface he seemed to just have raw talent and didn’t have to work at it. But we should know better for someone who has 600+ homers.
All of us kids in the 90s wanted to be like Ken on the baseball field, such a cool kid with the backwards ball cap, constantly chewing gum and blowing big old bubbles, all the Gold Gloves and the greatest swing of all time....

He is the greatest to ever play imho.
@@-hunt-6225 he's not hitting 900 Homers
@@JadedStranger Not lifting weights and staying flexible is the real reason. When you work out and keep flexible you can bounce back quicker from certain injuries. Even at an advanced age
I got to watch his whole career. He is a legit legend.
Same 90s baseball 😊 sadly its gone
I was born in 1980 and was a very average youth ball player. KG JR was one of my top 5 favorite players as a kid and this interview just makes me like him even more. What a solid dude, class act all around.
Look at those gold gloves! I remember doing Jr's batting stance among many others growing up playing whiffle ball. And I'll never forget in 1991 in Oakland when he was going through the tunnel after a Mariners A's game, he gave all of us kids high fives as he walked up the tunnel. A great guy. A legend.
My favorite baseball player of all time.
Ironically he wore 24 just like Kobe.
🐐🐐
That's not irony dude
Kobe like him but not at all no disrespect to Bean!
not religious but some numbers have meaning. number 6 mark of the beast. 3+3 = 6, 9 up side down is 6 . 2+4 =6. the great players wore these numbers. kobe, Kareem Jabar, grant hill , Shaquille, Jordan usa number. larry bird. dr.j. many more.
The most toxic fans are Kobe fanboys
Kobe wore 24 like Griffey
My favorite baseball player of all time. Clean life. Great family. Role model.
I think ken is the goat ,if it wasn't for injuries he would have broke every record
"You're never gonna be the biggest, fastest, or strongest, son.:
Uh, he nearly was, Sir.
But he wasn't because he ain't use the needle

@Randummm come on bro, dude didn’t juice, he had all the talent like bonds but also had something called character.
@@mizztery2994 lol his head swelled up like a balloon, you know The Simpsons has predicted many things...if only they would have made it Barry Bonds.
Was keeping him humble.
This man and manny were my favorite players without question
Growing up the Seattle area in the 90's was special, because of him.
AGREED💯
No pitching, like ZERO pitching, after Randy, who left in '97. Trading Tino Martinez and Jeff Nelson for Sterling Hitchcock, and then Derek Lowe and Jason Veritek for Heathcliff Slocumb, so it wasn't surprising.
Best all round ball player I've ever seen 👏 Grif was poetry in motion
I got a special place in my heart for Ken Griffey jr. Till this day hes still my favorite player. If he played today I would probably watch a MLB game.
I loved watching Ken Griffen play. You could tell he loved the game.
Griffey Jr was my idol when I was a kid!!! I had his poster on my wall and just loved how he played, such a class act person who probably should've had 700+ homers had he stayed healthy
I like Griffey more and more every time I hear him talk. Such humility and such knowledge. To be that humble when you have that much to brag about... ya love to see it!
This guy was the reason I played baseball, still one of my favorite athletes
My all time favorite, Jr Griffey. Got to watch his dad with the Reds, good stuff.
You have to RESPECT this man for not pointing fingers or judging other players, what they did to make it. This father and son of the Griffey's were the ultimate class act!!
I love Griffey. Absolutely love him. And there is zero percent chance he didn’t know. Absolutely zero chance.
@ALBERT POO HOLES stop trolling.
@ALBERT POO HOLES why did he play worse after taking it then? lol
Yeah he danced around it saying a whole lot of nothin'. Aroid and buhner we're top candidates at the time. It just makes him look suspicious
Loved Ken Griffey Sr. He raised a good man and a class act. Good on you Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball aside isn't that the goal every father has?
What a class act, wish there were more people out there in a position like Ken speaking on just do right
Class act. The best pure hitter I ever had the pleasure to watch. Loved watching him belt home runs.
Having known Ken personally for a while everything he said in the entire interview was 💯! Great guy and a great person!
Griffey Jr., Ozzie Smith, Willie Mays and base stealer Henderson! Salute!
Ozzie Smith
@@buckwildsrq Right! My mistake!
Ricky henderson criminally underrated !
Griffey says he wasn't the fastest or tallest at 6'3" pulling back homeruns at the wall...yeah right. Dude's the GOAT and a class act. He deserves to go in the HOF twice.
shannon letting ken talk at around 20 seconds is the sign of a great interviewer a lot of these new wave clowns try to talk over people instead
The worst type of interviewer is the one that overshadows the person there interviewing.
@@Riles3152 100 percent
Fat joe is a horrible interviewer
Because the youth nowadays has no respect for anything.
GOOD POINT
Watching Griffey Jr. and Strawberry swing the big stick was like watching poetry in motion.
Agreed 💯
Yelp
Pause!!!
Ken Griffey Jr and Darryl Strawberry had two of the best swings of the bat that I ever seen!!
Totally agree! Griffey Jr and the Strawman had the best swings! Good times!
Griffey Jr one of my favorites . He loved the gane , Brought so much joy to the game . You could see it .
From the Mariners to the Reds he gave the game everything .
