The Final video from the Tohoku Roadtrip!!
WHAT WOULD YOU BUY FROM THIS SUPERMARKET IF YOU WENT?
If you are wondering what its like in a Tokyo Supermarket...
Done one of those too! ruclips.net/video/gcCdRyvff0o/видео.html
Really like Japanese supermarkets (and even the ones you get in the basements of department stores. Have had times when we, for a change, hit them up for snacks and pre-done food and have a picnic in the hotel room in the evening after a hectic day. I remember a really good one by one of the stations in Namba which had lots of salads and other things freshly made onsite.
Hi Norm san
My girlfriend and I are obsessed with supermarket as well.
Love this vid so much.
I just started youtube in English thanks to your inspiration.
Thank you for a great content.
Taiki
Probably snacks representing the local area, AND Chocolate! 🤣
Hi Norm
I would buy everything hello kitty lol.
Very big supermarket just like at home, but it wound be called an extra like Tesco extra.
I was hoping the hello kitty toliet paper was there would love to buy some to take home.
🤗😍💙💖💙📸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I would probably raid that bakery section like there's no tomorrow :P I miss Japans baked goods, even the konbini selection is usually good!
Man that was such a great supermarket!! I love exploring new supermarkets. Let’s do it again😎
Next time we gotta do that “other” store 😉
(That came out way more suggestive than intended 😂)
Tokyo Lens I have no idea what store you’re referring to, slightly worried now😂
Lol
Hint: cats that you refuse to hold
Sharmander Can you please pass this message to Rena. "I hope your having a great day." Thanks Sharla!
Sharmander . Great to see you both together again.
I have a guilty pleasure of exploring supermarkets in countries or areas of my own country that I’m not familiar with. It’s so interesting to see the different things they have or the different things they don’t have.
YAS! The Canadian-duo is back for more Tohoku fun! ❤️
I think we might have to do another road trip.... lol
@@TokyoLens yes please!
I love videos like this! Not necessarily a bunch of super exciting views and goings on (though those are hecka fun, of course), but just casual, relaxed insight into the regular day-to-day life of Japan! Not a lot of people would think a supermarket trip could be interesting, but I think this video just goes to show it is! Thank you kindly!
I love the way you and Sharla bounce off each other, I imagine you'd have some good laughs behind the scenes! Thanks for taking us on your lil road trip :)
Have really enjoyed these collab videos hope you do more again soon. You and Sharla are two of my absolute favorite RUclipsr so having you together is always a bonus
And this trip videos where you are exploring more of Japan have just been so fun and interesting. Thanks for taking us around with you
This is still the best channel on youtube. Every episode is so wholesome! Never a bad episode either!
Alwaya enjoy a video with you and Sharla!
I would definatly have went with snacks for sure!
The sweet sweet intro TOKYO TUESDAY yeaaayyy :D
It was a very nice video, I love the combo of Norm and Sharla! Always fun to watch these videos :)
I love it when you and Sharla costream! And it's so special to see the regional goods in Japan! They really seem to have such a strong regional pride.
Brings back memories from when I lived over in that region 20+ years ago. The Nebuta festival was a great time and the locals loved interacting with us.
i've been waiting for a new episode Norm, you're great buddy keep up the amazing work! :)
Cheers!!
Thank you so much
NOTIFICATION SQUAD HYPE! Love all the vids with you and Sharla, you guys are so fun to watch together :D
yeaaaaah!! All the love in the world for the Notification squad!!
(mind you thats just pure selfishness out of me lol - I love hanging out in the comments on the release, so Y'all are my first and highest-energy line of response on a vid! haha)
Huge fan of your channel and also of Sharla always great to see you collaborate =)
Coming in clutch with another good video! Keep it up my man. Always looking forward to amazing content
Great video love watching about Japan local stores and how people in Japan live. Thank you
I'm glad that you filmed in Aomori because I was born there.
Nice video as always.....you make the simple things so entertaining. By the way, I was so surprised to see you in Matti's channel yesterday, that was so fun, you should take him to Japan that sill be and epic adventure! .
Love your vlogs with Sharla❤
I like these group excursions you go out on. Glad to see Victor with y'all.
Nice video! It was fun to explore with you and Sharla. Our favorite things from the store on our trip were Boss coffee, sakura candy, and various gummy fruit candies. You should do a mini video on the toilet candy...Lol.
I honestly rate how good a supermarket is by their bakery section
I enjoy the grocery store tours. A lot of interesting items. Seems kinda fun to go to the grocery store in Japan.
The energy you and Sharla give off is great!
Cool, I love Aomori, I’m just spending a week here right now! Cheers!
And now on my Tokyo Lens day… I am watching old videos and feeling very hungry seeing all the snacks! And missing Japan like mad 💖
I’m always fascinated by grocery stores and other countries I always make sure to visit them if I can it’s fascinating to see the differences and similarities
Ah I just love that intro. It resonate with me on another level. Double love for Tokyo Tuesdays. 🌀
Great couple of videos ^_^
Always nice to see places other than Tokyo.
So sad the roadtrip is over, but thank you for showing us to many interesting locations and things along the way~!
Awww thank you so much for tagging along!
Cute Japanese food! Thank you for sharing!😊🇯🇵🌸
Those apple pie kitkats are really tasty, they're one of the things in this month's Japan Crate.
Hi Ant-man, loved the grocery tour. Also forgot the "r" in Northern in the video description at the start of the video. Thanks for making cool videos!
Thank you for the nice video. Basically unlike other areas, Tokyo has many supermarkets.
Compared with Tokyo, other areas have fewer supermarkets in a distant place, that is why, supper markets are so big like this.
Oh Norm...once again, you had me at Sharla 😍 even gave you a like :)
So many snacks, drinks and food I would be ready to taste.
1:40 I'm watching this during the Coronavirus stuff and I just had to laugh when Sharla asked to look at the toilet paper section, lol
Lots of interesting stuff out there. It would be awesome to try out some of those.
Those are nice grapes! They grow Steuben grapes in Tsugaru, the grapes are originally from NY. My state. That's cool they have a lot of stuff from Hokkaido
I like doing supermarket tours too. Need to check out the Tokyo one. Should be fun once I get there.
Yay toilet paper run!! 😂
I love walking around in Japanese supermarkets and try to find all the matcha related stuff I can.
Tips is to come by later, like 20:00 in the evening, then you will most likely find discounted fresh stuff that the store want to get rid of so they don't have to throw them away. Time can differ from place to place.
Hey Norm, I am watching this video while drinking green tea from my new ぎりぎり mug 😉
Got very distracted by the last part of that comment lol.
Thanks so much!! Really excited to hear that~
I loved your group dynamic so much, good vibes, a nice area, friendly contacts with residents - felt good while watching. :)
(I just recently discovered yours and Sharlas channels, so I might be a bit of binge-watching lately. ^^)
I always love a good binge! welcome to the adventure!
I love exploring Japanese supermarkets and this one is huge! Wish you guys bought a lot of stuff and did a tasting video.
I know this is such a small thing, but seeing a grocery store in another country is SO interesting. What a lovely last video for the Tohoku Road-trip series ❤
Another awesome video :D I wouldn't know what to buy as there are so many unknown things ahaha. Also I just booked my Japan trip for the 18th of April next year :D So excited :DDDD. Would love to meet you there if possible :)
WOW! The foreshadowed supermarket video! Nice one! I would try all the candies from there. :D
Hi! This supernarket vid & Ms Sharla made me a subbie. Really want to go to Japan now, not just to Tokyo & Osaka, to explore & eat my way through everything!!!
Love the walking around Japanese supermarkets my fav!!!!
P.s love sour cream and onion chips!!!! ♥️
I'd like to try alot of stuff there.
Thank you for this.
Lol Sharla's so funny.
Love u girl
I recently had a bag of those apple pie kitkats in my tokyo treat box and they are just amaaaazing
Sharla's all about the Toilet paper! Great video man!
She knew about 2020.
Thanks for sharing, ive added to my Aomori stay :)
So many videos! Lol it’s so great. :D I also got my sticker and tote designed by you. It’s awesome! And so well made. I posted a pic of them on twitter. Have a great day and excited for more vids when ready. :D
This was a great pick me up video on my lunch break while having a rough few days. Thanks guys! Your trip looked like so much fun. I wish I was a part of your group lol
I hope your day continues to improve!!
@@illicitshadow thank you thata very kind!
I really enjoy when you guys do videos together.
You basically just filmed my Tuesday evenings!! haha! great stuff!
I haven't had Apple juice in years and now I'm craving it!
BTW If you are ever in Fukuoka let me know if there is anything I can do to help film a video!
Even if it is to carry a heavy camera bag! lol!
Love seeing inside a Japanese supermarket. Great video!
Now I really want apple juice 😂
I just found this channel and I love it!
Hey, Sharla and Norm! I'm so jealous of you guys at having that KitKat apple pie. I used to have this obsession of trying as much of Japanese KitKats as I can. I actually got to about 20 flavors, at least 6 of it I sampled on my monthlong vacation in Japan. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no other flavor where I live other than matcha_ and as much as I love matcha, I've already tried it a dozen times. I was hoping to try the really weird ones, like soy sauce. At least I got to sample the _wasabi_ and _sake_ once. Anyway, nostalgia over. Love both your videos. Cheers!
Really love you two together ❤️
All the fruit! It looked so tastyy~
All over Japan, their bakeries, patisserie's make amazing pastries, breads, puffs, croissants etc. Totally sugoi !
You guys are super fun. ✌️
Enjoyed your supermarket trip
It's often an adventure, going through foreign supermarkets :D
Great video Norm
Thanks for video! Now I have to go buy some snacks and apples.
このリンゴジュースめっちゃ美味しいですよね!!!青森行きたくなった
I was stationed in Okinawa in 1985. I never went to the grocery store so thanks for the trip. Sometimes I buy Japanese snack boxes for gifts. My idea of candy and theirs is quite different.
omg no ok the toilet candy is actually really good skfjksks also the aomori apple juice is SO good!!! i drank a whole case of it in like a week 🤣🤣
I can't wait to go on my first trip to a proper Japanese supermarket n leave with way too many items :''''D
What a delightful video!
Notif squad!
I'd definitely have a hard time choosing what to buy in the fried food and bento section tbh.
Lol it’s always a tough choice!!
For some reason, this is my third time coming back to this video, and I'm always so overwhelmed when I think about how many goods you can come across at the grocery store... How much more when everything is in a different community/language/cultural context?
I will say, though, that I did try those apple pie Kit Kats when I last visited, and it is probably my favorite flavor so far. Tastes exactly like an apple pie; it blows my mind.
The anko toast... xD made me remember eating toast with butter and anko in 2008.
just got settled here in misawa aomori and still feeling lost inside japanese supermarkets 😅😂 but im actually enjoying every minute of my grocery runs. there's a lot to explore! 🥰
I'm so sad it's over T___T It's been absolutely delightful to see you all together! This supermarket is really nice- I would probably be able to live off of Yakitori and Bread xD. I wonder how those apple pie kitto kattos are? (Sorry, I cant just say Kit Kats anymore haha). I'm excited to see if you'll post more festivals on our way to a new year. And if you dont celebrate, or dont do a video, I still wish you a happy halloween! ♡
The bakery part reminded me of that one live stream you did while Alexander was shopping and you found watermelon bread 😂
This video mad me hungry. Some of that bread sounded really tasty! I also like wheatgrass so I'm sure I'd like that drink.
I think if I was in Aomori I'd definitely be looking to buy apple stuff since that's their thing.
Those apple pie KitKat are probably my favorite ones so far!
How is it possible that you can make a trip to the grocery store so fascinating? Are you some kind of magician? You must only use this power for good!
Pretty sure the fruit sauce is like the flavored syrups at IHOP. For a second there I thought y’all literally found that guy’s seaweed. 😆
LOL can you imagine if it actually was his?
I almost wouldn’t be surprised lol
My last day in Tokyo we had peach fruit sauce in a pouch we bought in kawagoe. When I got back home I saw it in hackensack nj! We put it on bread when we were trying to finish what we had in the hotel. It's sweet. Misleading bc in a pouch u think it's a bbfood/apple sauce but it's...concentrated. in kawagoe the check out was the same. Person then money machine
Cool video! I miss cheap beer and whisky!!! Too much tax in New Zealand... I also miss kit kat!!!
I leave before spring. These are things I'm going to miss when I'm gone...
I love this type of content... Supermarkets at less populous regions and countryside. There's something special about them.
They have those checkouts in Tokyo too. Belx and Life definitely have them. You just need to shop in the same supermarkets that I do.
Supermarkets in other countries are my favourite. I always put them on my places to visit on Google maps before I go on holiday anywhere.
☺😊😀😁4 Smile's (nice shop bakery 😰and nuts.🙊 you got to love how excited a girl can get over TP😆) missed that one 😢.
Hey your in my area! Hello from Aomori!!! This area is also big in boxing, kickboxing and grappling. Maeda (the man who taught the Gracie Family) is from Hirosaki!
Those cheese snacks though... so good. Eat it with some chocolate and wow 🤩
You road trips are always fun
Interesting! There used to be Cub Foods stores here (US Great Lakes area-not Illinois, nor Wisconsin/Minnesota) with exactly the same font used for the name. They closed down about a decade ago...probably longer.
Sharla knows everything about stuffs at a supermarket^^
It is interesting to see how supermarkets are the same yet different. I like the sound of the Apple pie kitkat. I wish there was more flavours in the UK . There seems to be a huge choice already prepared/lunch choice food which looked yum. Butt pudding and toilet cake!
sour cream and onion is a great flavor, you can finish a bag without feeling tired of the flavor.
but agree on the how unappealing wheatgrass is.
I’d love to try those Apple drinks! I’m going to be in Tokyo in March so any recommendations of stuff to try from the supermarkets there would be cool!
I love seeing what foreign supermarkets have.
They have those types of registers in Tokyo too!
Aomori is a great prefecture! I spent about 6 weeks in Hirosaki in 2017. The apples are next level - there must be some good Aomori cider (alcoholic) somewhere...
