- We watch the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's ship Lady of Mann arrive and turn at Fleetwood before we join the ship for a day trip to Douglas, Isle of Man and back. As we leave Douglas on the return journey we see the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's "King Orry" leaving the harbour on a Liverpool service. We then catch a glimse of a large marine animal in the Irish Sea befor arriving at Fleetwood after dark.
I'm Manx I use to watch this lovely ship the Manx people miss it very much including me 😔😔🇮🇲🇮🇲🇮🇲
Many happy memories of yesteryear not to be forgotten !
Lovely view or the King Orry on the move as well in the same direction.
Loved the trips to IOM as a kid, sometimes a rough crossing ! Remember going via the Viking from Fleetwood having travelled on the "boat train" from Manchester.
Lovely memories. Thanks for posting 👍
Oh the nostalgia of 3 manx ships in the harbour together
Miss the old side loaders...The Lady was one of the nicer ships.
Traveled on the last run of the Lady in 1997 to Liverpool after the TT. It is to be remembered that at this time the IOMSP had six ferry boats and a freight boat, Now down to one mixed cargo (passenger/freight)ferry + a cat + one 'freight' boat.
Once sailed on the duplicate service ( the postal, fruit and veg, light cargo and passenger service) from Liverpool which took less the 3 hours for the trip. Full steam ahead once out of the river. Nearly fast enough for water skiing?
Fantastic work
The best ship
Fleetwood 10 times nicer to sail from than Heysham!
I never knew she could carry cars!
Fleetwood looks dismal
