80s LOUDNESS was amazing and Akira Takasaki is a true guitar god. One of Paul Gilbert's early main influences.

Ok Loudness have had many different phases. Their early albums like Disillusion and The Law Of Devils Land are classics. They then hit an "international/American phase" which the song you did was from. Later they went more darker/heavy throughout the 90's which included vocalist changes. In 2000 the original line-up reformed and have been going strong ever since . Some songs worth chucking out are Black Wall (1983) Slaughterhouse (1992) and King Of Pain (2010) - so many great songs and albums. Great video by the way 🙂

Loudness was the biggest export from Japan at the time. There have been others that were around at the time, but they didn’t hold the influence in the west like Loudness did. Their biggest exposure was when they were the opening band for Motley Crue in the USA. They did get lost in the shuffle a bit, and then their label pushed for an American singer Mike Vescera. That yielded two albums. One was all original material, and the follow up was mostly reworked versions of older classics. This divided the fanbase immensely. After Mike departed to work with Yngwie Malmsteen, they started working with Masaki Yamada formerly of Flatbacker/EZO. One album somewhat followed the original formal of the band, but subsequent albums got a little weird. Minoru Niihara started Ded Chaplin, then later the amazing Sly with fellow Loudness alum Munetaka Higuchi on drums. As Loudness progressed, Minoru then started X.Y.Z-A, who are still active in Japan. In 2000/2001 the whole band came back together. They are still active minus Munetaka who died of liver cancer in 2008. Last year they released a rather good double album called Sunburst, which has a sound that is a mix of all their output all in one package.

Loudness toured the US in the 80s opening for Motley Crue. Many liked them more than Crue... Also this was from the 2022 concert where they Co headlined with Nemophila. Both performances were live streamed. Guitarist Akira Takasaki is the cost owner of Killer guitars. Nemophila's guitarist Saki uses Killer guitars and has her own model. As for the band Nemophila, they have been blowing up and are wrapping up their first US tour (Dallas then NYC) They have a new song out called RISE. Check it out. I'd put the link. But Boobtube kicks it out.

Funny I never heard of any Japanese bands until I got on RUclips.
But after doing some research I found out that I had hear X Japan and that there was a female Japanese band from the 1980s called Show Ya, which I actually did remember hearing at least one sing of theirs in the 1980s. And I knew that Michael Jackson got a wrist guard which he said his friend Yoshiki gave him. And Yoshiki was almost unknown in the US and that they went bu just X at the beginning, whom I did hear about but didn't know they were from Japan. I just thought they were Americans who happen to be of Asian ancestry.

I seen Loudness in 1980 at the Salt Lake fairground collusion, held 1000 people, very small,
Loudness is their name because they’re loud as Hell! Again at the Salt Palace, 13,000. And it was just as loud. Louder than Ozzy, anyone back in the day!
