Pro Tip: Only use this thing when the grass / dirt is bone dry. Any bit if moisture and it is clogging up with wet dirt. It also isn't just the 40v system. It works fine with the ONE+ system too.
I bought this a couple of months ago and its been sitting in the box! 😂 glad its not too loud as im getting them neglected edges early before the heat! Thanks!
I went and got one last year after watching your video and never opened it. My ex husband came by and - instead of teaching me how to use this attachment - taught me how to use my Ryobi weed wacker to edge. The lines are jagged but the job got done. After all this time, though, I got tired of how tedious it is for me to get neater lines, so I finally opened up this attachment. It was missing the hex nut in the wheel tightener. After a year, it was too late to return it. Had to go to Home Depot to find one. It’s an M8-1.25 in case anybody else needs a replacement or didn’t get one like me. Anyway, looking forward to trying the edger attachment later today.
For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself. Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.
Those front edges look great! I noticed the mulch volcanoes on your trees, I had those and it killed some of my trees. Turns out I had to pull the mulch away from the trunk so you don't get girdling roots and fungus. Who knew?
@@sherburnoutdoorsWell congrats on the good luck. Ignorance is bliss! "They lived for 25 yrs and now the trunk is rotted and they're dead... but I got 25 yrs out of 'em!"
thank you for this video. attachment works on gas models as well. going backwards isn''t ideal i learned. i look forward to watching your other related videos.
Im still on the edge getting this or keeping my Mclane gas edger.. i hear this stopping alot and the one thing i wish ryobi had on this was a rear guide wheel.. like the dewalt does.. makes it stable instead of wobbling or yawing left and right and it has a adjustable depth so you wont be digging way to deep and gumming up your tires which i see you have, not necessary to dig that deep.
@@sherburnoutdoors Understand my comment a rear wheel guide not a rear wheel.. a metal angled bar that rest on the sidewalk and has a flange that wont let you yaw into the sidewalk so its a nice guide that keeps your edger straight instead of unicycling all over the place. Plz check out the dewalt edger attachment.. look at the rear bottom of it you will see what im talking about.. and you will agree.. trust me.
Thank you for the wonderful videos. I just got one. Tried to use but my motor runs very fast. I guess there is no speed control, right? I just squeezed the power trigger lightly - hope the motor wouldn’t run too fast. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work. One viewer’s suggestion to use on dry grass and soil is very helpful. I did got web grass/soil clogged the blades.
I’m looking at getting this model and the edger. Would you say the edger eats more battery? I have a very long side walk and I’m concerned I will need to purchase extra batteries
the Hart Powerfit edger attachment is exactly identical to the Ryobi Expand it edger attachment but cost less same serrated blade as the Ryobi. Im thinking getting either one for my Kobalt 80v attachment capable trimmer and converting it to a patio cleaner by removing the blade and putting on a brass bristled 8 in wire brush wheel as this attachment has a 1 inch arbor so a 8 in wire brush wheel with 1 inch arbor will work the wire brush wheel for bench grinders will work to convert this edger attachment to a patio cleaner to clean in the gaps in expansion joints in concrete and other areas to clean out debris. as Ryobi has a patio cleaner i think 18V or 40volt but its better to convert an edger attachment instead of buying the tool.

Very!
Pleasantly surprised to learn that my gas-powered Ryobi power head attachments work with my new 40V power head.
I have the tiller attachment and love it, lots of power!
Great video, first time user. Thanks showing this!
Glad it was helpful!

Those volcanoes have been there for over 20 years. If they are not dead yet, should be be good

Thank you for the support
Ooops. I didn't know the wheel adjusts. Great video thank you!
Thank you I’m getting this today!

This has a wheel

Need help. Mine came with a holding pin, item I from the owners manual. Where does it go?
Nice video I just got one
Curious how much does it cost
I’m looking at getting this model and the edger. Would you say the edger eats more battery? I have a very long side walk and I’m concerned I will need to purchase extra batteries
I have a pretty big yard and the weed eater does not eat that much battery. The mower on the other hand does. Hope that helps
Wow that looks nice you just convinced me to get it lol
Just got this today at my local DTO for $57. I'm excited to see it's results. Thanks for the vid!
Enjoy
What kind of grass do you have? Looks absolutely fantastic!
Fescue
Does it work with 18v lane trimmer?
Does this work with my 18v p2008??

Do you run it in low or high with that attachment?
I got a Milwaukee and I have to run it in high when your going deep otherwise the motor kills
Sir. What model number on your trimmer. Couldn’t find 40 v brushless expand-it for $130. Please get back to me. Thx Bruce

Me too 🤷🏻♀️

the Hart Powerfit edger attachment and other attachments are sold at Walmart
mine stops a lot while using. does anyone else have the same problem
Yes, it seems to happen when I'm holding it at too steep of angle to the ground? I'm using the 40V power head and the battery is fully charged.
Who uses petrol powered garden tools in these days?
