Started hiking 4 years ago, staying in Airbnbs, and thought overlanding would be cheaper and more fun. So far, I am $1k into my investment, and I've only bought the cheap stuff (not including my kayak and gear that I got in January). Now, I need another $1k for some boxes. The way things are going, I am going to spend more money on one trip than I did in my first 4.
Why do advertisers and consumers think "military grade" are synonyms with durable and robust? I spent 15 yrs in the military and trust me, even in Special Warfare, the gear is almost always made by the lowest bidder. We had to buy our own "non DOD system" gear if we wanted it to truly be tough.
I'm all for cool and sturdy gadgets for overlanding myself (I own a bunch of Pelican cases) but do you think this buying hundreds of dollars worth of cases to house a few dollars worth of camping gears/utensils is getting out of hand? No matter how I try to wrap my mind around it, I still fail to do the math. I roll my eyes of the thought,,,,,,, just before I click thy "Buy it" button! 🙄🤦
that is a good question and I asked myself the same thing. I paid for these, Roam did not supply. Based on my setup and the amount of dust and mud I go through, I feel these boxes are good. They keep everything organized and they are so flush under my cover, they barely move. Were they expensive, very. Would I do it again, most likely. I am pretty sure I am good for boxes forever at this point
My Roam case is garbage. Left the lid open for about an hour. Came back and it wouldn't seal. Wrote to Roam. They never got back to me. I wouldn't order from these people if my life depended on it.
I have been trying to deal with a return for several months. Gave up. Will never buy from this company again. They should take some of the money they use for paid promotions and spend on customer service.

Then don’t buy them

Agreed 👍
Bc we assume with that big ass military budget Congress gives ya’ll, you’d have some high quality shit.
Great video!
What molle bags did you buy from Amazon for the molle panel inside the rugged case?
If you upgrade to something like a GFC ( go fast campers) topper you can much more height room in your gladiator
I have looked at those, right now this is my daily driver and like using the low profile bars

Interesting. I have 3 of these, and leave the lids open all the time. No issues and have had a great experience with them.
