I think Jess works so well, because her character is so different from most of the other characters. She is a much needed foil for many sketches. Trapp can fill a similar role, but he's also usually the "boss", which creates a different dynamic.

You'd be hearing all Christmas songs in the malls with Christmas decoration. We don't have Halloween so we don't really have to change the decoration from September to January. Houses will slowly start having Christmas decorations and some tv station will start their countdown to Christmas. (115 Days to Christmas!)
