- Today I'm activating US-4567 Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail. This runs the entire length of the Susquehanna River. Thanks to Brian Card NE2B for pointing that out to me, because the river is very close to my house. That makes quick activations super easy. I ran the KX2 with my WRC Silver Bullet today. It performed well for what it is. All in all, it was a successful first activation of this park. I'm sure you'll see more of this place in the future. Thanks for watching and 73!

Great view! And nice to hear you 😉
Great that you QRS to the other operator 😊👍
I always try to. If I'm on a radio like the KX2 that has easily variable key speed I'll turn it down. If I'm on something that's more difficult to change key speed, I'll add Farnsworth.
Another good video. Thanks. I agree on the KX2. No radio is perfect and they all have strengths and weaknesses. All things considered the KX2 is very hard to beat in terms of size, performance and features. It’s a great radio and was way ahead of its time. In terms of compact CW only radios I’m looking forward to you getting a chance to test a KH1. 73
Nice little spot! needs some cleaning up. It was low 60's this morning. WTH! June 30th.
Good activation, good video, not boring in the least. Glad you found a close spot!
Of course, as soon as I did they closed the park indefinitely to rebuild it. Go figure LOL
Hard to send when your hands are cold especially holding a tiny paddle in your hand. I always envy SOTA guys who are activating in freezing temps. Been there done that, HI. But it’s all part of the fun. Nice video. 73, Marc, W4MPS
After suffering all winter, I tried a CW Morse paddle. Being all plastic your hands don't get nearly as cold. Night and day.
47° F? I’m jealous!! I’m sweating by just watching wearing a sweater in June. I’m prepping an umbrella clamp for my next POTA activation.
LOL yeah......BIG difference between FL and NY in June. It was 46 today when I woke up.
