    Great video , I use an ex2s and a xt1 with manual focus lenses mainly vintage and I’m shooting some of the best images in my life . I have a Nikon dslr and Olympus dslr but they are rarely used now. I would like ibis but I love the Images from the xt1 sensor and shooting at higher iso is not a problem with Fuji 😊

    Hey Craig - do you ever still shoot your Canon or Nikon cameras? I’ve shot primarily Fuji since 2016 but used DSLRs and glass are very inexpensive right now as more people are moving to mirrorless. Currently you can put together a full frame mark i or mark ii kit for under $1000 including lenses. I quite enjoy the optical viewfinder experience again. Right now I shoot Fuji for paying gigs and Canons for fun; quite the opposite of what people were doing only a few years ago.

    • @CraigBergonzoni

      Hey Lyndon! I’m currently only shooting Fujifilm but that’s just as much to do with me simplifying my setup as anything else. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting an older Nikon DSLR to play around with. I might soon.

      @@CraigBergonzoni If you do indeed get serious about getting an older Nikon DSLR, I highly recommend the Nikon D700. Although I can't put it into words, this legend has something special when it comes to the look of its images.

    Why I shoot Fuji (in no particular order) - What I like
    1 - XF 35 F/1.4 (first time I used this lens I left Sony)
    2 - ASTIA Film simulation (Is where I start all my portraiture edits in lightroom)
    3- Choice (Bodies) you can shoot with the camera you want, dials or PASM, range finder or dslr style
    4 - Lenses almost everything is covered with Fuji glass, and now Tamron and Sigma are there to fill holes in the line up
    5 - Price even though prices are creeping upwards the range is still affordable
    6 - Fuji support, granted I'm really only talking about Fuji UK, the after sales support has been brilliant the few times I have used them
    What I think could be improved (other manufacturers have some of the same or similar issues)
    1 - Castrating cameras for no reason, as an example the X-TXX lines do not support tethering wifi or wired when processor and sensor support it, (to make you buy the X-TX line), SD card slot speed 1 SD card is fine but why not support UHS II (there is zero cost difference)
    2 - Lenses (yes it is in the what I like side too) more specifically Entry level lenses. Spending £1000 on a lens is reasonable for a lens you use all the time that you want the best quality from but is way harder to justify spending £1000 on a lens you use occasionally. Fuji launched the XF 2.0 trio (23/35/50) which were priced around £400 and then they launched an XC 35 F/2.0 with the same glass just with a plastic non WR build for £169. It would have been nice to have the XF trio released as an XC trio at £200 not just the 35 (the 16mm F/2.8 was released later). The lack of entry level primes is a shame.
    I don't shoot a lot of wide angle stuff but would buy an XC 23mm F/2 instantly, but I'm not spending £400 on a lens that would only see use a few times a year (I'd just use the 10-24 F/4 or 16-80 F/4 etc). I have the feeling with Sigma releasing their trio of F/1.4 lenses (16/30/56) fuji may just leave the budget autofocus to them. (Also I do love the Sigma 56mm and have no issues using it for professional work).
    3 - Wildlife this is a smaller issue for me as not what I spend most of my time photographing, but the 100-400 was great, the 150-600 was a disappointment as it was F/8 which is the same as the 400 with 1.4 TC (560mm) which unfortunately is too dark to shoot flying birds in the UK most of the time unless you really want to shoot at ISO 6400/12800 a 400mm F/4 or 500mm F/5.6 prime would be nice, I am not holding much hope of sigma or Tamron making a super zoom for APSC, Tamron have released their Full frame super zoom, but that adds to the weight, and maybe sigma will release their full frame 150-600 super zoom but again this is a lot heavier than an lens designed for APSC would need to be

      @@CraigBergonzoni You're welcome, it was a good video :)
      I'd add to the pros, the way the XTrans sensor renders it is not clinical (too digital looking) but is sharp enough without being too sharp
      The type of photographer i am, i could live with just a 35mm APSC (50mm Full frame) and be happy, the 35mm F/1.4 has been great for my portraiture work, I'm one of those guys that would rather be 2m away talking to my model, not 5 meters away. But I have to admit, I had the Fuji 56mm F/1.2 in my shopping basket for years but never pulled the trigger, then when the Sigma was released (having used it, but not owned it on a sony system previous) that was an easy buy, at just over 1/3 of the price of the new Fuji XF56.
      My bug about tethering comes really from a popup studio we set up on site and print straight to an 8" x 6" print (Dye Sub printer) and currently we use an X-T3 to send the jpeg straight to computer via tethering (keeping the RAW file on SD-card), since these photos are SOOC images and are quickly printed a lot of the high end features are not required and any XE or XTxx would do the job as good as the XT (since as you say same sensor and processor) if it wasn't for the lack of tethering support which forces us to use a "higher end" camera than is required

    • @CraigBergonzoni
      @CraigBergonzoni  Год назад +1

      Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. You just have to decide which features are more important to you. If you think you'll use IBIS a lot then the X-S10 is the way to go. But if weather sealing on the camera, 3-way tilting screen, ISO & Shutter speed dials, option for vertical grip; are important go with the X-T3. Let me know if you have any more questions about them. Best of luck! Let me know what you end up doing. Thanks for watching!

    Bought an X-T3 brand new and it was the worst camera that I have ever purchased. Even the old East German made cameras of the 1960's were more reliable than this Chineses made piece of junk. Battery grip didn't fit properly as every time I picked the camera up it would move ( donates bad engineering ) No Nikon that I have owned has ever done this. Underexposes images, and I am not the only person to say this see Omar Gonzalez video on this subject. Dial on the front of the camera that changes the shooting modes is in the wrong place as I was always accidentally switching it to manual and loosing so many action shots. Images in ambient low light looked abysmal and in Velvia were oversaturated. But I was willing to forgive all these idiosyncrasies because I loved the camera and it was so much lighter then my Nikon gear, but the one thing I could not forgive was that this camera shut down on me 7 times in 8 months and I lost the entire final sidecar race at Mallory Park. So it went back to Fuji for repair under warranty and when I got it back I sold it and bought a Nikon Z6ii and never looked back. Yes I might of had a bad camera but I will stick to a brand that I have use for 40 years and know is reliable 'Nikon"

      Yeah you got a bad one, I have both that you mention, the Z6II and the x-t3, yeah the Z6II is better but they are different and different generation. I love them both tbh. The lens that you use is another factor to consider.

    What about autofocus my friend? Can we talk about that. Fujifilm autofocus sucks.

    • @CraigBergonzoni
      @CraigBergonzoni  Год назад

      Sure. Let's talk about it. Saying it sucks is a general statement. What specifically about the autofocus are you talking about? Single point/single shot? AF Tracking? Eye/face detect? Also, which models are you talking about? I recognize Fujifilm doesn't lead the industry in any auto-focus category but there is a lot more to consider when buying a camera. It's great to give people information and feedback. So if you want to leave constructive info for people coming here to read comments then leave some specific information about Fujifilm's autofocus hasn't worked well for you. Share your experience.

      @@CraigBergonzoni Thank you for your reply. Don't take me wrong I love the Fujifilm, but AF is big problem is not reliable. My telephone got more reliable autofocus, I am not kidding I'm being honest. Eye/face detect camera find faces in the tree.
      Then I take portraits camera telling me that Everything is in the focus, When I review my images 60% out of focus. And yes, I know to use my cameras being photographer over 30 years and tested almost every Fuji camera. And yes, I got five Fuji cameras and many lenses Including fujinon 200mm f2. I Love the Fujifilm cameras but sadly will not use them professionally.
