    In 2017 i was unmotivated with photography after around 18 years of it. I started using a film camera for the first time in almost a decade and fell in love with it again. I wondered what clicked again and realized like many people in this video, it was the usage experience! The engaging camera operation. Did research and found the XT Line. Haven’t looked back.

    There is a certain joy of using Fujifilm cameras. I now have the X H2s and X T5 with an x100vi on backorder. The film simulations, recipes and the shooting experience is so "fun". I've gone through Sony A7R iv, A7 iv, R6, R6 ii, Nikon Z7ii, Z6 and the Fuji is the only system for me.

    I came out of the photo finishing industry years ago and Fuji killed Kodak in so many ways. Better films, paper, chemistry, processors, and all around quality. I was thrilled to see them successfully flip to cameras in the digital space as film was declining. Funny how Kodak tried to have them restricted in the US and now Kodak is defunct (original Kodak pre selloffs).

    • @TaylorJacksonPhoto
      @TaylorJacksonPhoto  2 месяца назад +3

      It was very interesting to watch Kodak miss the switch to digital. They were early as well, and I feel like they had a lot of the market for a minute.

      Kodak was plagued with bad management. Typical “We’re (insert name) and that’s not how we do it” mindset. Completely out of touch and unfortunately, the ones that couldn’t evolve or adapt put the company behind the 8ball and screwed a legendary company. Old mgmt isn’t right mgmt in a lot of cases.

    I shoot a FF and a X-H2. What drew me to Fuji, the incamera recipes that I don’t need to edit after. I get the shot at the time. I feel I enjoy the creative process more as I know I am 95% done with little/no need to edit after. I am bored with the technically accurate colors at times, I love that filmic look.

    I switched from the canon 60D to a Fuji X-T4 and have loved using it. It has served me well for all my photography needs so far and the dials are a true joy to use. I will be using my X-T4 and a friends X-T5 to shoot the upcoming eclipse which I am really looking forward to. Fuji 150-600 on the 5 and a Viltrox 13mm on the 4. Should be a good time as long as it isn't overcast lol.
    It's a real shame the X-H2 is pasm styled. The screen is dumb and useless, settings are always visible either on screen on on the camera (with dials). Part of me wishes that they would just combine the XH and XT cameras, they are close enough to each other and use practically the same hardware. Regardless, I still plan on upgrading to the X-H2.
    Also, when are they going to expand in the the film market! Surely instax has built a large enough part of gold for them to start bringing some older films back.

    Loved this video - entertaining and who doesn't love talking about Fuji - film and cameras. I started with a Finepix, then an XT-1 which I will never sell, XT-4 that I sold and just purchased the XH-2. Simply beautiful cameras, all of them. And the color is what drew me when I first bought the Finepix (which I also still have!).

    I started shooting weddings on a Nikon D810, then two A7RIII’s for 6 years.
    The problems with the system got more irritating to me over time and it made me really not enjoy photography/hybrid coverage.
    Enter the A7RV. It fixed all of my pain points, and still was a massive overall improvement beyond the A7RIII.
    Having said that, it still feels soulless. It’s a great, probably perfect tool, but that’s about it.
    I picked up the X-T5 and the X-H2S. I haven’t gotten to know the H2S much yet, but I absolutely LOVE the T5. It made me enjoy photography again because I can take it with me everywhere. I can take GREAT photos of everyday things and not even have to edit them. I’m greatful to Fujifilm for restoring my love of photography.

    Such a cool video ! I have been a fuji shooter for about three years now and my love for photography has only grown to say the least. The cameras are great, the colors straight out of camera even better. I am honestly glad to see Fujifilm picking up so much market these days in the digital sector, amongst all the crazy professional level gear (which they also make, yeah, I know). I think the beauty of the fujifilm cameras still lie in the smaller, more compact versions like the x100 or the x-e series with smaller prime lenses.

    So much fun, thanks and sometimes people do forget: Even though a think is hyped, does not mean it is bad. Happens in a lot of hobbies, I can a lil bit relate, when you are in your bubble and over the years more people come in and make it difficult to buy, what was easy to be before. That sucks. The x100 is not the BEST but it is a great camera. Happy Thursday,😊

  • @matt88169

    Image quality per dollar is high with Fuji - that is what sucked me in overall. The top lenses are bonkers good. I spent relatively little and get high quality images that keep up just fine with better, bigger, more expensive cameras.
    But if "tactile feel" is so important to the user experience, why, Fuji, are you cheapening out on your most tactile cameras (X100VI and XT5)? Why put a useless top display on the XH series when buttons and dials are what we all love? Is it the chip shortage? Inflation? C'mon, you can tell us. I'd pay a little more to maintain a certain standard of quality.
    I'm hoping the 6-series puts the focus back on high quality for the XT line. I also hope they can pressure Adobe into providing real support for X-Trans files - for now, it is very hit and miss in terms of how certain images look, and it is a huge penalty on those trying to produce the highest quality images without the highest cost equipment (for the record, I use other image processors including Fuji's).
    Oh ya, uncripple Fuji Raw Studio - it runs like garbage but could be an amazing tool. Allow us to STRAIGHTEN photos in-camera making JPEGs, and have an option for compression RATIOS so I can optimize file quality and file size as I do a little cropping. That would be amazing. Oh ya, if you are going to offer features like exposure bracketing and pixel shift, you should find ways to process the images in-camera and spit out a RAW file that can, you guessed it - be edited in camera or on another processor.

    • @TaylorJacksonPhoto
      @TaylorJacksonPhoto  2 месяца назад

      I will say that the x100VI feels better now that it's a tiny bit heavier. But yah, I'd love an option for every camera to come in the GFX100 II texture. That camera feels really nice.

    There is an obsession abroad, fuelled by RUclipsrs talking incessantly about specs and cheese paring details.
    I've given up on all that cr*p.
    I enjoy using Fuji cameras. If I can't get the images I want in any given circumstance then I wouldn't get them using any other platform.
    (I will add caveat that the Sony A7 R V sensor is a beast and I'd make an exception for that when it comes to wildlife and cropping hard before printing big).

    I'm not sure who 'everyone' is Taylor, but it aint me. I was with them for ten years, but had so many frustrations and realised as a pro shooting events, weddings and Dragon Boat racing (here in Western Australia), I was really being held back. Since I swapped over two years ago to Nikon Z FF, I am amazed how gorgeous my images are now, and just the joy of shooting and using a fully pro camera. I know I'm going to get shot down in flames, but I'm not bagging out Fuji. Some of my timeless and most gorgeous images on my website and portfolio, have all been taken on Fuji-film cameras. However, because I can now get the look that my clients want, my business has increased and I get referred to others. By the way too, over here, I see many photographers now advertising for a 2nd shooter saying 'please, no Fuji-film shooters'. I think that tells the whole story.

      I shoot weddings and events on Fuji, and from a business perspective it doesn't make sense to switch. But I have noticed that it's super hard to get called as a second photographer if you just use Fuji Cameras. People associated them with fun and personal cameras with slow AF.

    • @rvpcqp
      @rvpcqp 2 месяца назад

      Fuji is synonymous with “fun & easy” when you need something to motivate you to get out and shoot without much work in post. For that, it’s the best. But too often it fails to get the results you want when you need them, especially in less than ideal conditions. They fall way short for wildlife photographers / videographers, which lead me to sell my Fuji gear after 5 years. Their af on brand new flagship cameras barely keep up with other brands mid tier bodies from 3-5 years ago. Today I see better value in used (or new) FF cameras which cost & weigh the same, perform better, and have a broader selection of quality lenses often at cheaper prices. Nikon making huge strides and everybody sleeping on LUMIX…

    • @philipsutton8921
      @philipsutton8921 2 месяца назад

      @@rvpcqp Well said and thanks for the reply. My sentiments exactly. The only thing that makes me really sad is that I scabbed it with Fuji for 10 years, trying to be loyal, trying to tell myself things would get better, but they never did. I really wish I'd never laid eyes on Fuji over 10 years ago.

    • @kaneclements7761
      @kaneclements7761 2 месяца назад +1

      Hi Philip. The no FujiFilm shooters thing is probably down to the rep of FF files when edited in LR.
      I'm not going to dis your experience. Glad you are getting more business.
      I'm not a pro and at an age where a FF system is rather more of a burden than I wish to carry.
      I was also using Sony an A7R IV. With quality glass. Fuji colour science is better. The images themselves, well that is a different' issue. I haven't seen much difference between Canon, Sony and Fuji in terms of the systems taking account of sensor size / generation etc. etc. From time to time the Sony had the edge yet now I have an X-T5 there has been a boost.
      If I had the cash I'd buy an A7 R V and a big wildlife lens for nature. Otherwise Fuji delivers in so many ways.
