Good job. I've never caught a wolf using a drag. I've caught 5 tied solid though. What worries me about drags is this very thing....if it runs down the road / trail like this one did, then it snows 3-6 inches, it could be very hard to find. Also, if it had not been caught well, say one or two toes, it might tangle up, then get loose.....you probably would never find the trap. A LOT of people use drags, and I set my traps up with about 8 feet of chain for a drag, but it worries me. Ever had it happen?
I think we have had it happen once on a coyote but never on a wolf, just have to make sure all your traps after a snow are still set. This one would have been really tough if it had snowed though. Thanks for watching 🍻
@Trapper’s Dad Yeah, that sort of thing never makes a guy feel very good, but it does happen. A Game Warden friend of mine told me about a mountain lion on a drag he helped let loose.....in the top of a tree! I like the idea of drags, but I've never tried them for these reasons. I don't stake either, but cable my traps to nearby trees instead.
@@tytanventures I lost a coyote once in a staked trap. At the time I thought it had been stolen, but I think it just pulled the stake loose. Never found him of the trap. Another coyote managed to break a weak chain. There was plenty of snow, and I was able to track it down and shoot it, but it was an all day thing. It went a long ways! I like the idea of drags. Fast and easy to set, but I'm a little afraid to use them.
90% of people hate trapping and 40% of those people are hunters. All the missing people are the 90% that just wish they would shoot the damn thing and skip out on all the other bs. If you were there to witness it happen after about 4 seconds you'd go from overjoyed to trying to reassure yourself it was the right way to go. We aren't profiting off the fur trade anymore...take a day off and go hunting
Rifle in the case, wearing snowmobile gear for riding in the mountains, and pulling that wolf out by the back legs against the lay of the fur. Boy you got a lot to learn.
Great show my Friends. Those Wolves are smart. Only took a little while to realise it was easier going on the snowmobile trail. I trailed one for a kilometer one time across some open Meadow. Finally he got tangled up in a clump of willows. Its always exciting!
Probably needs to be sharper or a twist in it yup! They work good most of the time but there is the odd time like this one where it could have been better. Thanks for watching 🍻
@tytanventures brilliant, didn't realise you had so many wolves. Amazing when setting traps you can guess accurately where they tred without bait in some cases. Also is it hollow point 22lr your using?
I did not see a scope?. Just hang it on the wall. I bet your dad didn't walk around for 30 year with his in a case.? Just dont make much sence to me. But glad to see you all's successful hunts keep up the good work. 👍
What in the hell. Is that gun that rare or special to be in a case. After a pissed of wolf. Thats a new one for me. Grant you odds are low but wild is wild.
I find the idea of hunting wolves for deeply troubling, especially when it involves causing harm to animals for sport or thrill. It reflects a level of disregard for life that I struggle to understand. I can't help but feel both enraged and disgusted by this behavior, and I genuinely believe it's harmful not just to the animals, but to the individual’s mental well-being. It seems to me that causing suffering in this way reflects an unhealthy relationship with nature and life itself. And this is coming from the heart of Boston. Truly saddening to see majestic animals be killed.
Should use a better drag, had a cousin make me a 3 prong grappler type for Mountain lions in the native rez. Use to be legal to foot snare them in my state till about 5 years or so ago, now these lions every where!
Thanks for not showing the kill shot.I understand the need to maintain a balance with deer and wolf but i have never liked any body showing the kill shot.
I don't understand why you would use a trap like that, is it necessary? Or is it a ego thing like shit I can't believe that worked? I'm not against trapping or hunting I'm a hunter myself could someone inlight me
That was awesome my friends! She went a long way! Can't wait to see the next one! Good luck with everything!
Same to you! Thanks Mark 🍻
Congratulations, Sweet Wolf 👍. Good luck with some more
Thank you 👍
Awesome catch and video. You just about had her girl but they are big animals and now we know how they can take down deer
Great video! Got to manage those predators.
Big dingoes you got there mate. Love your country and hope to be back soon 👍

Wish we could trap those here in the U.P.! The deer herd here (west) is almost nonexistent due to the wolves.
That’s a shame :( Trapping is vital to conservation.
Well done, lots of wolves around means lots of fun!
Definitely 👍 Hopefully we both have some more luck once it gets cold
Exciting videos!
Congratulations on the great work!
I have trapped for 45 years, but not in wolf country.
That would be an adventure for sure!
Thank you 👍
That was some great catch and chase video!!!
Kudos to that young lady. She is a catch! Enjoy your videos
Thanks for watching them 👍

@Trapper’s Dad Did you have a video on that? I watched one a few days ago. Exact thing happened.
I just looked....it was someone else. I think the video was something like "Don't be a lazy trapper"?
Awesome work. Only good one is a dead one!
Great job guys and gals! You are doing your part to maintain the balance and keeping their numbers down. Thank you for all your work.
Thank you 🤟
Nice video
Congratulations. Beautiful dog. Tight chains!
I'm shocked this channel doesn't have many subscribers. The content is super unique with the pursuit of the live wolves using the drags.
Thank you 👍

I don’t know about the laws where you are with the laws where I live. We are required to check traps every 24th hour.
Are you required to keep your rifle in a case until your ready to dispatch the animal?
No we just do
Thats what iwas thinking thanks for the reply.

Definitely 👍 tracking is the best part! Thanks for watching 🍻
Good going
The next, great!! Good luck
I live in Mn sure would like to buy a pelt.
Fishing for wolves . Novel concept!
Nice work ! You guys ever think about a better drag ? That looks like something you would use on a coon .
Congrats again

Great job I am from Nova Scotia we don’t have nothing that big just coyotes but real love your videos keep them coming
Thank you 🍻
Just came on these videos where abouts is that Northern Canada?
We are in central Saskatchewan! Right in the middle 👍
@tytanventures brilliant, didn't realise you had so many wolves. Amazing when setting traps you can guess accurately where they tred without bait in some cases. Also is it hollow point 22lr your using?
Why the hell was the gun in the case
Congratulations on a beautiful animal
Awesome job guys! Question for you, why do you keep yr gun in case while you track them?
Keeps the snow off the gun when going through the brambles lol
I did not see a scope?. Just hang it on the wall. I bet your dad didn't walk around for 30 year with his in a case.? Just dont make much sence to me. But glad to see you all's successful hunts keep up the good work. 👍
@@tytanventures just have to be a little smarter than the gun and weather son. Think about it. Good luck .

Odds are extremely low and snow gets in the barrel and action if it’s out of the case in the bush.
that was exciting

Carry a short rope tie it around the nose drag it with the hair. Its easier and combs the fur to.
They drag way easier head first.

We don’t have many lions around here but yes the drags should be a little bit better 👍
@@tytanventures good luck, buddy. Wish I could get a wolf!
Guys first congrats
How much Average female and male of wolf you've trapped weights?
I would say it’s about 50/50 male, female. We do not get the weight unfortunately! Thanks for watching 🍻
That's a big wolves!.

Don't watch!!
