Thanks for posting. Great advice. Every time I watch one of these checkride videos it seems to ease my fears. More information on what to expect is so important to having confidence. Thanks again.
Love this video. Made me think about a lot. Realistic, practical and reassuring. Getting ready for my check ride in the very near future weather permitting and I will watch this again. Thank you!!
*so very calming and reassuring, some great chaps you guys thanks so much for this video!! I liked how instead of asking how to pass you asked "how can one fail", coming from the other side that actually really helps calm me for some reason haha! I'm taking my PPL checkride July 20th, I'm not great a slow flight & I know that's a big one, so I gotta practice! I self correct out loud (verbally) though, so at least I already do that. I think overall I just gotta be well rested and study hard and remember to fly safely, don't make the DPE want to jump out of the plane*. :)
I failed my commercial not because 2 of my maneuvers were not in standard, they were not executed with smooth control inputs. Lazy 8s and accelerated stalls. I told the examiner that I’ll redo these maneuvers he was not satisfied with. His reply was: if you aren’t smooth on the controls then they are not to standards of a commercial pilot and you need to do them right the first time. I practiced my butt off on those two maneuvers and passed. The CFI who signed me off for this checkride was very angry with the examiner and never sent another student to him. I passed 4 other subsequent checkride first time. All applicants must read the reviews on the examiner prior to the checkride.
Why havent I seen this video before my checkride (two years ago). I really hope many students will see it before they go into the air with their examinar
Ryan Kruse as far as I know my first hour of pic time was on my first solo . When I’m in a solo flight who else is suppose to be pic? My instructor on the ground ?
My Checkride is in 2 weeks - thank you for this video!!! I’m so nervous and feel like everything has to be done perfectly. This puts my mind at ease.
The best RUclips channel regarding aviation. Thanks

Great to see another aviator named St. George and one much more accomplished than me. Great tips!

10:28 well said. i’m too much of a perfectionist with my flying. i think i’m doing terrible and my cfis like you’re fine??
I am now going to add to the passenger brief to not open the freaking window.
Nate, I was wondering if you could share any tips on preparing if you're going on a vacation?
Hi, Sam. If you're a Gold Seal member, download the "Oral Exam Summary" PDF from the ground school. It's great study material!
Glad he mentioned don’t too much ... literally can’t stress that enough
And you guys need to get in the plane and do a mock checkride
David says at 29:30 that your flight with the examiner is your first hour of PIC. What's that about? Doesn't FAR 61.51 (e) (4) say otherwise?

I'd think they mean PIC w/ a passenger.
I tabbed my log book and it just made a confusing mess of it. However, my log book only has 4 complete pages so how hard is it to find something 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you very much for making this video"!
Starts at 3:30 Yw
Can a USA online ground school be valid in Canada???
Sweet, great pointers
Noted- tell examiner no talking during the whole flight :)
Tips on diversion? WInd card? Rule of thumb to calc ETE to the new destination, Fuel burn? Without having to grab an e6B in flight.../
Whoa whoa whoa..... at 1:38... did I hear you say what I think you said? Wow.. i am so offended. "You people"? Racist!!!
Vanquished Canadian lol what
