If someone calls me at 8pm, less than 12 hours prior to our schedules departure time and asks to bump it up 5 hour!!! To 0400?!? Unless when they called I was already sleeping.... in the hanger... 10 feet from the airplane... that would be a “No, no and hell NO.” The most important piece of equipment on the airplane is the gray stuff in between the pilots ears. That piece of equipment is non-functional at 0300! Unless the pilots sleep schedule was planned prepared for a 0200-0300 wake up, that flight should be a no-go.
Right, even if I could manage to get the number of hours sleep I typically get, shifting my sleep schedule forward 3-4 hours on a moment’s notice = I.M.N.O.T.S.A.F.E. Currency & operable equipment don’t need to be checked. The decision is already made.
@@bluecow10 DPE canceled, he got covid. I don't want to go to another dpe as my cfi knows this dpe and what he looks for, so I am stuck. I thought of switching but I don't know
@@PilotDaveAviation Covid has been a pain in the butt when it comes to flight training, I guess it gives you some extra time to prepare but still no fun.
Thanks for your comment! The two are very closely related and exact diagnosis is less important than the understanding of the theoretical knowledge and the actions taken as the pilot in command - in this case increasing the levels of oxygen to alleviate any of the 4 types of hypoxia, and completing a safe landing to assess further on the ground.
Yes the Fundamentals of Instruction tell us Rote, Understanding, Application, Correlation. But this video isn't trying to teach how to prepare for the FOI written test, this is about how to become prepared for any checkride.
Same here. It all boils down to personals minimums I guess, but what if she had an engine failure en route while it's dark? Realistically it's a bad idea while VFR
The intro question shouldn't require quick answers. In real life, you'll have plenty of time to research before your flight. The others quick answers to demonstrate safe piloting. The exam should emulate real life.
Sorry to hear that, we have since upgraded our audio equipment. However, a version with a transcript is available on our website - www.flyaeroguard.com/learning-center/checkride-scenario/
4am!?
ain't nobody i know gonna convince me to take them to breakfast at 4am
no one.
Thank you for publishing this. You are helping pilots focus their preprations.

Exactly what i was thinking too. I’d rather not wake up that early to fly to breakfast, especially if it breaks my personal sleep mins.
Relax it’s just an assuming scenario
Yep agree. Not flying when half asleep. Personal minimum is to get at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep and I do not fly in the middle of the night.

@@simon0062 Yes, just like an assuming crash the airplane scenario.
My new favorite channel. Thanks Beth!
We're so glad to hear it! Thanks, Brad!
My check ride is in 2 weeks, so nervous ! Thanks for sharing the video

@@bluecow10 I passed my checkride 2 days ago !!!
Thanks for doing this!!
If you give an incorrect answer, should you say "just kidding" and follow with the right answer?
Me personally I would say something like: "Now that I think about it, that was not the correct answer, the correct answer is..."
Thank you for this
My check ride is today , wish me luck
Thanks, Cooper - we hope it went well!
Great video
Excellent video and it is really helpful. Could you talk more questions about Instrument checkride :)
Thank you for your feedback, Lucas! We'll pass this onto our team.
@@flyaeroguard appreciate it.
Great video / very helpful !
Actually The order of knowledge is Wrote, understood, applied, and then correlated, but I am sure you knew that. Even teachers mess up.
Rote, not Wrote, but we know what you mean.
Nice!
very helpful
4.00 AM in the morning is too early. One of my personal minimum is I do not fly at that hour. To tired to fly at 4.00AM.
10:40 cyanosis does not occur with with CO poisoning only with hypoxemia!!
Thanks for your comment!

Rote-application-understanding? Shouldn't it be Rote-understanding-application?

My personal minimum would require a landing light. What If I had to abort.
