Was Mack a mistake? Two 1s for the best pass rusher in the league on a d that desperately needs a consistent pass rush, no brainer you do it in a heartbeat. Draft picks are a crap shoot. A lottery ticket.
Nagy makes the playoffs year one more because of Vic fangio. The offense SUCKED in the second half of the season. And that team in 2020 shouldn’t have been there 🤷♂️ everyone watching knew that.
@ And he knew who the QB was when he came to Chicago. Vic gets majority credit for 2018. Not Matthew. How good were those offenses that Nagy has a winning record with? How was his record after 2018?
I get building through the draft. What evidence shows that the bears can even do that? I see both sides of the argument, but what d lineman in the draft is going to be better than Garrett in three years?
You guys can rationalize Bienemy all you want, but he hasn’t learned a thing. At UCLA he was fired by one of his best friends, then he threw his friend under the bus.
The only player I think Bears need to go after is Trey Smith. We have the money to pay him. Bears need to man up and pay him whatever it takes, and then go all in on the draft.
I think the Bears with better coaching and no change to the roster would be much better team than what they were. A few roster changes along with coaching upgrade (if it proves to be an upgrade) will make a world of difference. If I thought we could get last years defensive production and add Miles, I would give it a serious look. I might overpay a liitle, but I wouldn't sell the farm. Then put Bagent at QB1 and take the north.
Because it's irresponsible. You're giving up SIGNIFICANT draft capital, his salary against the cap over the remainder of his contract (2 years) also would command significant money which could be better allocated for MULTIPLE free-agents (instead of just one in this case), & likely he would require a new deal, which would be an insane hit monetarily - especially when Sweat already commands significant compensation. This would be a luxury acquisition, & the Bears have too many needs & are too far away from SERIOUS Super Bowl contention at this point.
@legitwafflezz9935 No, the Bears aren't a "ways off". There's no way the Bears aren't a strong contender this year with the talent they already have, and the coaches coming in. 5 of their losses came down to 1 play, which fell mostly on bad coaching, which would have put them in playoff position this year. They have a better defensive coordinator now than Flus was at calling defense and a way better coach calling the offense, and with the line getting addressed in the draft, there is no reason they can't do what Washington did this year.
@@Metalguy86 I hope so, but it's the Bears, they've done nothing but let me down for the past 40 years I've watched. New head coach etc. I would be happy if they got above .500
Is Ben Johnson is ready last year he would have been the bears coach last year you all know that's the reason they kept the head coach last year y'all know that because it's more important for y'all to drum up a narrative yeah he deserves play extension rather y'all believe it or not that's why y'all not executives of no team
Kap rants are nothing but knee jerk hot takes and click bait. The Bears should ABSOULUTELY explore this trade. A comparable situation would be the Vikings trading for Jared Allen in 2008. The Vikes had to give up a single 1st rounder (17th overall) and a pair of 3rd rounders. At the time, Allen was 3 years younger than Garrett is now, which suggests that Chicago could get this trade done while giving up less. Caleb and Rome are making minimum wage for the next 3 years, so the cap hit wouldn't be that scary of an issue. And yes, the Bears are nowhere near being a "contender" right now. But isn't that why you make a deal like this?
Is kap ok because his takes have been horrible. In the first round good teams draft best player available. If you can get garret for a one and two he’s clearly best player available
There's nothing wrong with his take. Why give 2 or more draft picks plus pay a huge chunk of our salary cap, when they could instead go after a more important person like a Trey Smith, lose no picks in the process, and look for an edge in the draft?
Agree completely Kap! We need every last draft choice to build this team.
The Bears need to participate in the Myles Garrett lottery in order to raise the price for the other teams that will have to overpay for him

To be fair he had Mitch as his qb, man has a winning record with dude at qb think about that lol

The bears need to draft better instead of overpaying for free agents who show one year and then fizzle
Fans get so upset when our teams do not land FA. They think there is on line portal where a GM can pick what they want!

If Poles somehow gets OL right in free agency for once, why wouldn't you trade for Garrett to team up with Sweat? 🤷♂️
Garrett wants to get on a team that is going to be a contender soon, not the Bears. We're still a ways off!
Because you need young talent on rookie contracts
Because it's irresponsible.

We lost 3 games on subpar coaching
Guys, fix your audio

Hey Fat, boy look at his work out in the off season. I don't any Bears or any one in Chicago. Works out like Garrett
Age really don’t matter for some players
Well, extend Poles and if Johnson is gone after 2 or 3 years then you have more dead money on the books.
Their salaries don’t count against the cap.
@ I know it is still dead money that the Bears are going to be paying to former employees and coaches

Kap doesnt take no 💩
FYI Garrett is 29 he won’t be 30 until the end of the next season.
Yea and he probably has like 3 years maybe 4 tops left in him . Not worth it 💯
