Thanks man for making an Illusive Concept Jabba video. This was probably my first high-end collectible purchase way back in the day. It was my "1/6 scale" Jabba until Sideshow came out with their first one. I sold it years ago, but man I vividly remember constantly taking a wet washcloth and wiping the dryness away. It was really awesome for its time, and I totally missed out on their Rancor. At least I ended up with that _huuuuge_ (albeit not puppet accurate) Sideshow one.
Interesting enough, I heard Micheal Jackson also had a life size R2 & 3PO. If u’ve ever seen his video for Captain EO, he has a very familiar looking blue elephant musician named “Hooter” that plays keyboards…
1:55 No wonder for the last decade I always struggle with remembering if it's Illusive Originals or Concepts. So they _did_ actually go by both names. Ah, thanks for inadvertently letting me know my brain isn't totally slippin'.
I have one of these! Inherited it from from one back in 2003. It sat in my childhood bedroom under a semi-protective tarp for 20 years and now I’m scratching my head wondering what to do with it. Mine is a much darker coloration, though.
I know that type of material. I had an NHL plush made of that material. Was in the garage for YEARS and in good condition. Then one day I moved it to my room and within a few weeks it deteriorated.
Me too! I got it when it was brand new, and had it for so long; then sold it many years ago, probably not long after the first Sideshow Jabba came out.
I have a 2023 ET that is made of foam. Hopefully that holds up. Your 29" Jabba here looks well-preserved. I wonder what conditions you are able to preserve it in for so long compared to those others that are degrading over time from owners. Yes, I see there is not quite as much red in the eyes, but still looks good. Thanks.
I have that (almost) life-size NECA ET too, but I got one the first time it came out...so it's certainly more than a few years old. So far, it's accumulated zero damage. I own other foam filled latex items that are much older, and there hasn't been any damage on them. The only thing that's happened with me is they tend to get a little faded/dying ET lookin', so I'll take a damp washcloth and give 'em a wipe down. Like you don't want to keep them in humid environments, but you certainly wanna moisturize them in some fashion every once in awhile.
I have mine displayed with my 12" Kenner/Hasbro figures and they look great together. One of these days I'm going to make a dias platform for it. Mine's the same coloring and nice condition like yours. I've had it since the late '90s.
The expression is like a combination of when jabba is getting choked out by Leia (and probably very aroused at the same time), and _'I'm really stoned'_ Jabba.
6:50 Jabba looks like he's rated Pooh's honey pot stash. ...He had the munchies. Yeah yours definitely has a lot more Jurassic Park amber lookin' stuff added to it compared to the one I had - just needs a little mosquito in there. But obviously there'd be a varying degree of differences from copy to copy.
As usual I enjoyed watching your video, thanks! Was wondering.. how much reproductions of Jabba does your focused collection count? Is there an estimation or a number?
Greetings exalted ones. My wonderful daughter just purchased this Jabba the Hutt for me from a local Comic Collectible store and it's got a small problem on the back of his head. Any suggestions of what to use to fix it? The yellow spot is a soft rubber latex and the shell is hard plastic. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi's you're my only hope.
Hmm that’s a bit tricky. I don’t actually have any experience trying to fix something like this, but I would suggest looking into how people repair or restore latex masks
Those Yoda degradation shots are pure nightmare fuel. 😂
as Yoda said, when 900 years old you reach...
It looks like the Yoda from the JonTron video from when he was on the drugs. 😂😂😂
"Younglings, do meth, you must not."
never did i think id find a channel dedicated to Jabba memorabilia lol i love it

I had one of these and it was AMAZING through 1995 eyes.
the party the hutt hat is so hilarious for some reason
Illusive Concepts made some awesome stuff. I heard Trick or Treat Studios bought the rights and is bringing back some of their items.
The degraded Yoda reminded me of ‘Mac & Me’
I enjoyed the video as always.

_He he!_ Whaaaa? I like blue elephaaants 🙂
I'll be buying number 918 tomorrow!

I’m not entirely sure what the story was behind the two names, but I have definitely heard them both

I had that

Have you seen the one on ebay with a red symbol instead of yellow on the right arm there? Pretty neat.

Not perfect, but I like how derpy, and stylized he looks.

No idea really. A lot!

Not sure I understand the situation. Are you taking about the Illusive Concepts Jabba?
@MightyJabbasCollection yes. The back of his head has the yellow latex showing a 3.5 inch hole with cracks around it.
Hmm that’s a bit tricky. I don’t actually have any experience trying to fix something like this, but I would suggest looking into how people repair or restore latex masks
yeah it definitely looks rough
I have one In mint jabba
Mine is #4964
I remember seeing this guy at a comic book shop back in 96. It seemed so cool at the time, seems just alright now.
one day he will own every vintage jabba that ever existed
🙈 Promo sm
idk.. those eyes. he looks high af lol i wonder if this would accept a repaint or maybe the material would break down.
