Doctor Who
The home of Doctor Who on RUclips with clips dating back from 1963, all the way through dozens of regenerations, to the latest clips of the Peter Capaldi era and the announcement of Jodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor: bit.ly/WWDoctorWho
PART ONE OF TWO: When the shuttle bus the Doctor is riding on is attacked, the most frightened passenger, Sky Silvestry, seems to be the most affected. The Doctor's attempts to get her to speak make her repeat what she is told. The delay between what the Sky repeats get shorter until she begins speaking in unison with them. If Sky isn't in control of herself, then what is? Amazing performances from the BBC series Doctor Who.

Look at Jethro literally saying the most random things and enjoying himself while everyone is freaking out.
That's probably what I'd be doing as well
My name is jethro
666
Milly Hia honestly I'd do the same
😂
I'd love him as a companion!
That mother going "Make her stop it!" DRIVES ME INSANE
Pretty easy to make her stop; SHUT UP!
It's surprising how intriguing this episode was. Considering that almost nothing happened.
Well, for once the Doctor almost died, and would be not "turning back"..
"I think you should all be very very quiet."
David Tennant is awesome.
Midnight is probably the only doctor who episode that actually sent chills down my spine at the second watching when I first watched the episode I didn't appreciate how good of an episode it actually is. The acting is brilliant and never knowing what the alien actually is also if it died or not brilliant episode best in the entire RTD era.
Same! The episodes now seem cheesy and cheap, and they seem to be trying to cater to a younger audience. I loved this episode and the two library ones before it. This one is still my favourite though.
I completely agree! The Moffat era has ruined doctor who for older viewers the stories are catered for a much younger audience and are very cheesy and unrealistic.
Thethistle gunner Remember the beast. Don't forget him
The impossible planet and the satin pit were two of my favourite episodes as well mate but this one tops them in my opinion
Thethistle gunner Well said
I can relate to Jethro on a personal level. While everyone else is freaking out he's screaming out things he wants sky to say. The line where he yells out "666!" Never fails to make me chuckle.
I think one of the scariest and best things about the episode is that you never see the monster which makes the claustraphobic feel of the episode more terrifying.
Yeah, he assume the form of a "shadow" at distance who can posses you...
Fear of the unknown. Humanity’s greatest fear.
I dont think anybody realized how hard her part must had been...great job on her point
This episode scared me more than any horror movie I've seen
You need to see Blink then.
Are you my Mummy?
To burch I have the weeping angels don't scare me though
+Marshan Mitchell Agreed, I never really thought the Angels were as bad as everyone else seems to think. This episode, on the other hand, is so creepy! It's the combination of Sharp's skill at repeating and matching, the sound crew's clever editing, and especially Tennant's face near the end! An amazing job all around!
Of course, if you really want to see an amazing Sky, check out the theatrical production of "Midnight" that's on RUclips. That woman manages to do all the repeating, all the matching, every line done on TV, but *live* with no fancy editing and no retakes!
Critter Keeper I'll look for that now thanks for telling me about it
This is some great acting here
+ShirtOfTheWolf She does a great job of not just repeating lines but doing the inflections of the other actors.
+Kolumaic They did have the advantage of being able to shoot lines in bits and pieces, and then edit them together. Did you check out the Confidential for this episode? Search for "How Sky's Lines were Filmed" and you can watch the process.

+Liam Roberts You forgot the full stop.
You forgot the full stop.
The camera shots and use of shadow are incredible here. The side shots where her shadow is in the background, like its the creature hanging over her.
My all time favourite new who episode. Tense, terrifying and perfect.
Agreed
Agreed
+Alex Crane right!!! Very well written. I was impressed after I finished it
Actually, I've changed my mind. The Zygon Invasion is better.
you prefer that political p.o.s epsiode to this ?! just because of that overdramatic speech about war
This is the only new who episode (from Christopher eccleston to David tenant) that doesn't have the Tardis in it.
fun fact
wow did not know
What other episodes don’t?
@@maxeyre2024 Heaven Sent and The Woman who Fell to Earth (might not have come out when you posted this)
Or episodes that just have the TARDIS at the end, like Turn Left or It Takes You Away
For me this out ranks Blink as the best episode of the revival. It's been so long since I first watched it, and it still creeps me out so much. The claustrophobic setting, the monster that literally seems to steal your voice, and the group of happy tourists ready to cast someone to their death in less than an hour. And I'm pretty sure this constitutes a bottle episode! Not to mention how impressive it is for the actress who has to speak concurrently with everyone else. This is just such a good episode on all accounts.
3:10 that reaction is priceless
@∆@
The look on her face when she said wow frightened the hell out me
This is it; this is the one thing in my history of horror-watching that succeeded in scaring the daylights out of me. I've sat through the Grudge, the Exorcist, Nightmare on Elm Street...you name it. Even Blink didn't hold a candle to this episode.
By far, one of the the creepiest episodes of doctor who! That really disturbed me when I first watched the episode haha XD
+polishgirl9329 By far, one of the the creepiest episodes of doctor who! That really disturbed me when I first watched the episode haha XD
+schildiish definelty!! Scariest episodes list so far: the gas mask boy, weeping angels, water on Mars, and this one! I didn't expect doctor who to be that creep inducing! Lol
This is definitely my favorite doctor who episode of all time, even though it was scarier than a horror movie to me....I'm watching this at midnight (yes midnight) right now and.... wow I forgot how creepy it was....
+Hazel the 11th Erudite Half-Blood Nephilim Princess (Hazel Lightwood) This is definitely my favorite doctor who episode of all time, even though it was scarier than a horror movie to me....I'm watching this at midnight (yes midnight) right now and.... wow I forgot how creepy it was....
Don't forget Blink though.
+Hazel the 11th Erudite Half-Blood Nephilim Princess (Hazel Lightwood) Ah, but is it enough of a favorite for you to have memorized the square root of pi to thirty decimal places? ;-)
I loved this one! "Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Donna Noble TARDIS." Best line XD
This episode scared me the most
I'm rewatching every season before Doctor Who comes back :) Now when I see Colin saying "My name is Jethro" I wanna scream "shut up, your name is Merlin" haha
CaroliiinaPaz nice refrence
I really like the word "impossible", when the professor said "That's impossible" after she repeated 30 digits of the square root of pi and when Dee Dee said it when she started repeating at the same time.
That must have been so confusing to film, especially with the full number of Pi. XD
My mom mimics me because of this episode. I freak out every time.
Merlin from Merlin!
MakesYouSick Merlin from Merlin!
+Olivia Lim Merlin from Merlin
@@connorllewellyn6289 Merlin from Merlin
Unforgettable classic =)
I remember coming home and getting really mad because my cousin started watching this episode without me. *that was 9 years ago*
What if the midnight entity is the great intelligence since it has no form and the great intelligence copy’s the man and posses him but since this is the future maybe the entity is like river like the entity is traveling through his past and that’s when it got destroyed I dunno though it’s just a theory
‘She’s got my voice! She’s got my words!’ - I love that part and it’s not even on this clip
3:12 Despite how creepy this scene is, watching this episode a second time made me fully appreciate how hilarious the look on the professor’s face is
Absolutely terrifying episode; definetely one of my favourites. Superbly written!
13 seconds in and I already got chills. One of my favourite episodes.
I love that music that starts at 0:07 when Sky turns around and how it escalates.
This episode shows how the music and the body language and great writers and directors.
"Oh doctor you're so handsome, yes I know thank you" LOL
this episode was so good i almost forgot the doctor always wins
What a simple concept, so beautifully done.
One of my favorite episodes right here!
We're stuck. I'm the middle of nowhere. Best line.
Jethro is a mood. I'm always the one enjoying myself when everyone is freaking out
My favorite episode!!! Incredibly well written. Although it wasn't scary for me, it built up tension and suspense and I loved it.
The monster in this episode deserves a finale where it finds itself on earth, taking over peoples speech, then drain their body, and move on.
Oh this is such an amazing episode!
Especially with Merlin in it too :D
my favorite Doctor Who ep to this date
when david said sky, it made me feel like he was saying my name, cause my name is skyler, and everyone calls me sky, i just feel special for some reason lol.
One of the best episodes of doctor who and the whole bbc in general
One of the Best Episodes of this season... Mainly because it's soo simple. it's The Doctor, the passengers, the repeater and a creepily tiny space! Priceless!!!!!!
Fun fact: The actor who plays the proffesor is actually patrick troughton (2nd doctor) son
ashley kay Really?! Wow!
This one of my personal favorites. :)
Love this episode!!!
i remember accidentally watching just 15 minutes of this episode and couldn't sleep for days, so scary
The scariest episode of Doctor Who for me. Ever. Thrilling and unnerving. I seriously hope no fiction or episode ever tries to explain the creature.
Loved this episode!
:D
Lol this was the best episode of Doctor Who why cant it be more like this
This is a emotional episode because the first time I seen it was not long after my mother died.
I love this episode!!!! I can repeat every word they say. Ten is brave. I even got scared, for him. I wanted to hold him.
This is acting at its finest and you know it
Minimum special effect, maximum drama and tension.
This is the doctor who equivalent of a “trapped inside a powerless elevator” scenario, and everything just gets progressively worse
OMG i loveee this episode :) so real, so human, so frightning...
frightening episode. i love it.
Good Job!
I think this was the scariest DW episode.
The music is amazing
The music is amazing
Midnight and Gridlock are some of my favorite new Doctor Who episodes
CHILLS
This episode is worth watching in black and white if you can. It makes it soooooo much creepier, honestly. It’s worth seeing that way
scrax6 You know when the guy In the front could see something out there, could you see It??
I watched this last when I was a lot younger, and I think it's even more scary now that I can start to realise just what's happening, how scary it is that she is saying it at the exact same time as them...
What a great creepy episode!
love it!!
This is such a brilliant two hander between two brilliant actors, totally scarry. 😱❤️
When David Troughton says I think we should all calm down, he sounds just like his father Patrick. His brother Michael was in The New Statesman with the late Rik Mayall. He also played Wellington in Sharpe before Hugh Fraser did. Go watch Colin Morgan in The Fall as a policeman, using his real accent. ❤️
YAY!!! your putting up 10th doctor vids
merlin still looks so young even this far into the future
It Copys to Learn how they speak and think so thats the first stage and since the Doctor was speaking the most it was absorbing the most from him
The episode and the horror comes from the script of the cast, the paranoia of the passengers and the intense background music. That is Doctor who. Even the monsters themselves don't have to be monster like creatures when they can be an entity that drives human beings to the brink of doing something which turns them into monsters and very afraid because of the effect that this entity is having on the passengers and the atmosphere that accompanies it
One of the best Doctor Who episodes :) Good and Scary! :)
Best Docter who actor ever!
Her eyes are terrifying
One of my favourite David Tennant episodes
Probably the best Tennant episode ever.
I can do this...
talking at the same time as someone
it freaks out my teachers in the middle of class XD
good episode
Great episode... proper horror story kinda like an old hammer film
I heard somewhere that the thing that possesses Sky and the Doctor is actually the Artificial Intelligence...
+Joshua Oliver If that thing is the Great Intelligence, then the Hostess must be a splinter of Clara.
No one will ever know. I like those kind of episodes, which leaves it up to your own imagination.
What's the scariest thing out there-
Answer-Nothing
The midnight entity, a lifeform living on the planet Midnight. It was one of the few beings that the Doctor had no knowledge of at all, which, given his expansive, encyclopaedic knowledge of the universe and everything in it across time, was a testament.
I LOVE DAVID. He will always be my doctor.
This is a lesson, some things should be left undiscovered.
when sky turned around I pulled out a "hello sweetie"
Unless the 1st paragraph was edited in recently, there must be some kind of time travel from 2011 to 2019 when Jodie Whittaker became the new doctor.
ask her, "how much wood can a woodchuck cut if woodchuck would cut wood"
This episode was creepy as hell.
this was my favorite 10th doctor episode.\
NagualElias
this was my favorite 10th doctor episode.\
Doctor Who and Merlin? best thing ever !!
If the Doctor hadn't been there it might have possessed Jethro or Deedee instead
This episode was creepy...I loved every minute of it! :D
Not only was this cool because its Doctor Who but Merlin is in this too :D
Gothic Merlin :P
My top 3 favorite episodes.
1. Heaven Sent
2. Planet Midnight
3 Don’t Blink
Collin Morgan as Merlin or Jethro
And David Tennant as the Doctor
Both in one episode!!!
Can this get any hotter???
By far the scariest episode.
Ok thank you! :)
