Every week : well that's the darkest episode yet. Imagine dr strange breaking the universe not being the saddest thing we've seen. Also, Peter's line of smiling for those who are gone was especially poignant for me this morning. We got news last night that my grandmother is losing her fight with cancer and we're saying our goodbyes this weekend. Maybe that's why it feels especially dark for me, but the tone seems to be getting more and more dark with each episode. Still love this though.

There were ALOT of references to the original, not just the leg. the head in the jar was in the comics, and some of the infection methods were also in it.
My only singular issue with What If... is, I want more to all these stories. Like... keep going. I wish they were an hour. These are SO fun and stark. Dang.
I was about to say that each episode of What If…? are one-shot, until I remember that main characters from the previous episodes will assemble. And the fact the writer wants to continue with Captain Carter’s story in future seasons.
People dont seem to realize that even if Hope did get smaller, she could still use her suit as a zombie to grow big anyway, like Hank did to bite Steve. Whether she was small or huge it doesn't matter, she still had the suit.

Of course then we wouldn’t have had the plot point of her sacrificing herself in redemption of being partly responsible for the zombie outbreak. Plus it was cool seeing a giant zombie.

But after she was infected she was sat in the train, knowing she was infected and turning while still wearing the Wasp suit. If she had turned while still on the train she would have infected everyone by shrinking.

I’m with Adam regarding Zombies::: It’s the “shadow” of their former living selves that terrifies me… When they hold objects and attempt to use them, opening doors, it’s all just macabre in the best way.
My son turned on the TV while I was taking the dog out and he came running out the door with this huge smile on his face yelling "it's zombies!! Dad! It's the zombies episode! It's here!!" And then giggled all the way back to the couch. If was so fun/scary/sad/great time with our boy.
I wonder if the finale of the show is characters of all the different episodes teaming up to stop the zombie virus spreading throughout the multiverse, like the plots of several marvel zombies stories.

My immediate thought when Hope got hurt and had the potential to turn was "why aren't they removing her from the suit so that, if she turns, she'd be far less of a threat?" I guess people in horror movies really don't think of the most obvious things.
I suppose so but she was turning slowly, and I'm not sure if she can go big without her suit (which if she didn't, they wouldn't have been able to pass through the field of zombies). I did think it was stupid she didn't become smaller though after she dropped them off.
Part of me was like “hmm maybe they’ll let them have a happy ending this time since they lost so many people along the way”. But no. They’re literally bringing the last infinity stone right to zombie Thanos with a full gauntlet and that’s an ending that’s perfectly on brand for this show 😂

Sharon was killed and eaten by Cap and we saw her lie on the floor, before exploding because of Hope. We saw Tchalla without one of his legs because Vision used him to feed Wanda and Scott Lang without his body...

So question for you two: Since a lot of Tony's suit was actually controlled first by Jarvis, but then by the updated Friday replacement, wouldn't the Friday AI be able to stop Tony from going on a kill spree? Or at least just refuse to do most of the Iron Man suit powers?

That's a really great question... Hmmm... could the lack of helmet be a contributing factor? Tony must not have had time to activate Friday when he was attacked. And since he doesn't have comms, he's basically operating the suit manually without Friday's help or instruction.

A lot of people were complaining about the timing of the jokes not the jokes. During emotional beats of certain parts or constantly joking over the jokes in the episodes. Like they were auditioning for a stand up comedy show instead of reacting to the things they are watching.
I found a very ironic that they went to New Jersey and wandavision was based in New Jersey because when Vision bought the deed before infinity War that means they went to go move to New Jersey before the outbreak happened
This episode had some really poenient moments and some really dark moments. But it still kinda struck me as a little more of a fun episode than last week. Until the end. Freaking ominous! I needed part 2 of this yesterday.
That zombie chuck by wasp who said "ow" at the quinjet makes me think the zombies are sentient, but just a little hungry. Maybe it's time to cut the undead some slack.

In the comics it was Wasp's head in a jar after Ant-Man bit it off. Deadpool also became Headpool and used a beanie hat to fly around. Marvel Zombies sure does love using disembodied heads as comedy relief. Headpool and Scott-In-a-Jar would make a great Marvel Team-Up, maybe even a DC crossover with Jarro the Boy Wonder.
Re: Blamming. In the early HP movies, Emma Watson was so obsessive that she memorized the entire script. In her scenes, she would mouth along with the other characters as they spoke. She got to hear, "Cut!" a lot.
Could this be what leads the watcher to unite the “multivengers”? Zombie Thanos, after collecting the stones to propagate the virus. Could become a multiversal threat that causes The Watcher the him to scramble them together ?
If they follow comic rules the stones dont work outside their universe (Loki kind of confirmed this with the TVA having loads unused, though that might not be 100%). In addition, we have seen a clip of them fighting, and i wont say what it was for anyone who stumbles on this comment, but it wasnt zombies (though again, could be trailer trickery)
My only question is how the fuk do you let yourself get bit or whatever when you have 4 of the stone's, there should be no way your losing that fight. Unless he just doesn't know what zombies are and tries to fight them in close quarters.
I liked this episode, but I feel like there was ALOT going on. I liked the group of people they had fighting together, and that Black Panther was an official Avenger. I am curious as to why Wasp didn’t bring the army of ants with them to the base. Also, this is the first time in the MCU that Uncle Ben has been mentioned 😢
The fact that the metahumans can use their powers, the turn is stupid quick, the zombies can somewhat retain their memories, (Wanda feeling sad for Vision and the Avengers still having their combat training and skills.) Black Panther specifically being used as spare food for a zombie, a human head in a container that is still alive and cured. These are all references to the OG Marvel Zombies Comics.
At the end of the episode my son said "wait - if Thanos has the reality stone, why couldn't he turn them all to normal humans or something else before he got bit?"... Great point, kid.
The amount of Resident Evil homages in this episode is uncanny. The zombie head turning (stark) and the train scene, plus a boss fight at the tail of the train.
I've been waiting since the first preview of Bucky throwing the shield back at Cap like in The Winter Soldier; And then the shield sliced him in the same spot where Cap caught it in the movie too!
The remaining on the jet might wanna find some reinforcements like ALOT OF REINFORCEMENTS cuz they literally have to deal with thanos and his new army of zombies
The one thing I don't understand with this one is how did the zombies get into the nanosuits? They can withstand the vacuum of space and it took Thanos to tear off bits of Iron Man off. I find it surprising they got taken out as fast as the exposed ones.

Wasp passed out. Just like Ant Man did in Antman 2 after growing big. So she couldn't take off the suit or destroy it.

This series is really showing that IW/Endgame missed an opportunity with no having Strange's cape surging the Snap and becoming an Avenger.
I knew that no matter how ridiculous the violence Adam always feels it, but I had not realized that his legendary empathy extended to zombies.
I liked this episode, but I feel like there was ALOT going on. I liked the group of people they had fighting together, and that Black Panther was an official Avenger.
I am curious as to why Wasp didn’t bring the army of ants with them to the base.
Also, this is the first time in the MCU that Uncle Ben has been mentioned 😢
Kind of sad to think this may be the only time that Chadwick’s Black Panther ever spoke to Ant Man and Vision.

Talking-head Scott as the comic relief is technically from the comics, except it happens to Deadpool.

The fact that the metahumans can use their powers, the turn is stupid quick, the zombies can somewhat retain their memories, (Wanda feeling sad for Vision and the Avengers still having their combat training and skills.) Black Panther specifically being used as spare food for a zombie, a human head in a container that is still alive and cured. These are all references to the OG Marvel Zombies Comics.
At the end of the episode my son said "wait - if Thanos has the reality stone, why couldn't he turn them all to normal humans or something else before he got bit?"... Great point, kid.
Excellent point! But he might have gotten bit by one of the Black Order, as they're the only ones might get close to him unnoticed.

The amount of Resident Evil homages in this episode is uncanny. The zombie head turning (stark) and the train scene, plus a boss fight at the tail of the train.
So, how many times has Vision died? I am starting to take it personally.
I can see that Cape Scott working as a figure if you mold the cape out of a plastic strong enough to support the weight of Scott's head jar.
I loved this episode...not only was it faithful to the comic, but it hit on every Zombie troupe you could think of.😰

The one thing I don't understand with this one is how did the zombies get into the nanosuits? They can withstand the vacuum of space and it took Thanos to tear off bits of Iron Man off. I find it surprising they got taken out as fast as the exposed ones.
