This is what I remember playing as a kid I have all those cards, I hate what yugioh is now back then you had machine, bug, water, fire , dragon , magic decks and it was fun to make your own now I watch 2016 tournament and it’s over in secs they spend more time shuffling that the actual game that’s not yugioh in my eyes that’s boring
I'm not sure if this is a mistake but I don't think the early prints of Waboku protected monsters from battle. They just stopped Battle Damage I have an SDY Waboku and it says it just stops damage. I looked this up and it didn't get the protecting monsters from battle effect until its reprint in 2006.
Doesn't Waboku not protect in this format as he was only printed with the damage reduction effect back in the day? I'm pretty sure it got the monster protection effect much later
So fun story, I spoke with our judge about that and he stated that the protection effect was an implied thing back then. +GaRbS La Jinn was a bitch to deal with around the time. 2000 DEF monsters were needed around the time so you don't get wrecked by him but you still had to deal with things like Blue-Eyes or Summoned Skull.

How does the battle phase flip effects play out? Specifically when trap master attacked a facedown trap master. Also why are you guys playing current waboku ruling but old last will ruling? Sam mentioned in one of his vids that waboku worked differently back then.
Lorena Garcia waboku has always worked the same. It just had errata to make it easier to understand. Also you can use last will after your monster goes to the gy.
Last will had a ruling change some time after goat format. Before that, you could only special summon if you activated last will before a monster was destroyed.
