My favorite era of music is the PTX era of music 😄
The 90's Dance Medley is also a great Evolution video by PTX! Thanks for reacting to them!
Considering my age as a senior, I have to say my favorites are the 60s and 70s. I think we had the best music.
Agreed! They were definitely the years of massive innovation in all styles of music and the breakdowns into genres. I still love most of the music from those years.
Definitely! I agree
Thank u for the reaction. As far as I know, a PTX member will recommend a song or idea and all the members pitch in to make it better or choose who should do what section. Sometimes their producer Ben , often referred to as the 6th Pentatonix helps them to arrange.
All the evolution videos are filmed in one take. Normally 3 or 4 takes are made and they choose the best.
PTX 🤘
The great Ben Bram was a pivotal part of the arranging of this and many other PTX songs.
It was Ben whom Scott called needing suggestions on a great bass singer for PTX and without hesitation, Ben told him to call Avi Kaplan and gave Scott Avi's number. Avi had just been hired by the Los Angeles Opera House the day before as their Principle Bass when Scott contacted.
The opera house was a sure thing and PTX was just forming to participate in the NBC A Capella
sig off. Avi, who loves A Capella decided to take the chance and of course PTX won that sing off.
He and Kevin were called the "Meat and Potatoes" of the group.
Ben Bram really favored arranging parts for Avi with Avi's wide range, Polyphonic/Overtone singing abilities and overall vast music abilities and training.
Ben is a musical force to be reckoned with.
By the way, Avi decided to found an A Capella choir for young people long ago. He Approached Ben and their mutual friend Rob Deitz to see if they were interested in co-founding it with him.
It was right their ally as well, and the three men founded A Capella Academy. It consists of young people from all over the world. They apply and interview online and the cream of the crop are chosen. Every summer, they gather at a college in California for 9 days of intense music and especially A Capella training and entertaining in small groups as well as the choir.
Some of the young people come from third world countries and cannot afford the fees to fly over, and participate so Avi gets online once a year and takes live requests from callers to sing their favorite song for donations to pay the way for those without financial resources.
Here is an example of the Choir performing an Avi Kaplan composition.

This was one of their original done around 2012. And Their BohoRhap was 5 yrs in the work to be happy with it and once it was done someone sent it to Brain May and he posted it on his channel with 1 word...ENJOY
Recommend their 90s Dance Medley.
Great reaction! You would like their mashup of New Rules x Are You That Somebody, Butter x Dynamite, Can’t Hold Us, Problem and their originals Sing, Happy Now as you dig a little deeper in the Pentatonix song roster. ❤❤❤❤❤
Great!! Thank you. Yes absolutely creative. Greetings from South Africa
Based entirely on their comment at the end (which you skipped over), my guess is that the hardest part was deciding which songs NOT to include, since they had to keep the song from going on forever, which it could easily have done.
As for how long they devoted to each song, that was almost certainly determined by what worked for the arrangement. Each song had to last long enough to be recognizable. After that, they would want to transition to the next song at a natural stopping place, the end of a phrase or sentence. After that, they would have wanted it to end on a note that fit well with the next song, to smooth the transitions somewhat.
