The clickbait title really does a disservice in showing you practical aim exercises instead of some wannabe pro going "just aim better" for 8 minutes. Like the eye tracking exercises gave me a theory that the reason why I overshoot is I keep on predicting enemy movements rather than actually tracking.

I genuinely love how this guide talks about tracking enemies with your eyesight and including the eye training exercises. It's something that is never talked about by Pros and Streamers and I was constantly asking myself why I have one day go really well ingame and the other day I cant shoot anyone. The reason is typically my brain isnt focusing on the enemies and my crosshair but getting distracted by whats going on in the ingame environment. This aim Guide is really good to understand better aim tracking.

Great guide, but one thing I thing you neglected to mention is the opposite of eye tracking, which is when you blur your vision to see more at once, or the negative to relying on eye tracking alone. The more you focus on an object, the more tunnel vision you get, so eye tracking is most useful for full auto weapons where every bullet counts. When you blur your vision and take in the whole picture you can respond to new and multiple threats faster, and helps with flick shots more. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but rather it's a when to use each kinda thing.

For those having difficulty tracking the ball, imagine you are Superman, using your lazer eyes to drill a beam (pun intended) into the middle of the circle that you are tracking, it makes it a bit better and you can apply this to other games (even non-FPS games where you still need immense control like rocket league) just aim for a spot and target that place.

  • @tomharrie8075

I've been playing the 4 + minutes of eye tracking for over two months now. Every time I login into play I watch this and then go to Apex Aim Trainer and take down 25 targets each with wingman and flatline (no avs). A couple of weeks ago something just clicked. I was hitting on almost all of my shots. That's when I realized what I had been doing wrong for 2 plus decades of FPS gaming. Your video showed me that I've been tracking the target and not my actual gun site. I no longer spray and pray, I wait until the target is within my site and I fire. I actually tell myself this during 1v1's now and I stay calm and focused. I'm not a very good shooter regardless. My lifetime kdr has hovered around .33 in most FPS games. Apex learning curve has been harder. Prior to this season my lifetime KDR was about .24 I'm proud to say it's trending in the right direction and this season I'm up to a .43. I know that's still laughable for good players but for me and my two buddies you've helped to improve our overall gaming experience so thanks much. Also anything that helps to stimulate cognitive function as our aging brains are in decline is a very good thing.

Great vid. That eye tracking stuff is something a lot of people don't cover in aim guides, but for me personally, I sometimes just panic and see enemies as blurs, so these eye tracking things seem great to do before aim training/doing it the days I play my shooter without aim training. The ball kinda vibrates back and forth for me as it moves during those exercises, but I'm sure that'll go away in a few days

I will say just after watching the eye training a single time then immediately jumping into Apex I was hitting probably 70-80% of my Wingman shots and about every 1/3 were headshots.
I thought I was just losing my reaction time over the past year or so because my performance had greatly dropped when possibly my eyes have just become slower, guess that's what working 50hr weeks over the past year can do to you.

23:58 WRONG! Brain does run on sugar OR ketones and some studies show that the brain functions even better (about 20%) when it's main fuel is ketones. Your body does not need carbohydrates. Your liver produces all sugar needed for the body. Carbohydrates are just chains of sugar. If you don't want those crashes after you eat I highly recommend eating a ketogenic diet as it is very healthy for your brain. Intermittent fasting or prolonged fasting has also been shown to produce BDNF=Brain-derived neurotrophic factor which is a building block for new pathways in the brain aka boosts learning. Everything else I agree with. Overall great guide and quality content! I've been beaming and clutching games alot now even gettng 3k dmg games. i think the thing that misslead me in this game was the bullet travel time. i realise its there but its very distant compared to games like bf4. So i just keep my cross on the target utilize hipfire at the right ranges and im golden. thanks for the vid bro. now if i can git good with the wingman

if you guys are stuggling with the fast moving balls at first like I did I reccomend trying to get one direction down if this makes sense like the up and down ones just do the ones going down and flick back up and don't worry about tracking up you can practice this later then you combine them. This is what I used to do and now I can track them the whole way up and down

I loved this video! Especially how you promoted exercise and proper diet, these two things have kept me locked at a lower skill level and took me over a decade to realize... Good work Ottr!

I never realized how much I relied on peripheral vision. Now that my eyes are "more active", even just watching gameplay feels like I'm aiming by just looking. Best guide yet, much love since OW days, Ottr!!

You should 300 % continue ie to add these types of vids in addition to your gameplay, which is arguably the most entertaining . These vids will get views and exposure. I know it. I just hope they get the views to get you the fast exposure. I hope you never want to quit being a pro gamer and content creator. I will watch forever

If you want to increase the challenge of the eye-tracking exercises, you can increase playback speed. I've started doing x2, and songs that seemed impossible in McOsu are now doable.

Could I maybe suggest not having the eye training backgrounds be pure white? Not sure how much (if at all) it would affect the training to change it to a darker color but something doesn't feel right about staring at a mostly white 24" screen that's only about a foot away
    Besides that, loved the video
