@CrazyFish hi, CrazyFish! You got me wrong! But no problem at all! I was just reacting to the hate the band gets FROM some metalheads, hence the "ok they're not metal." The bands you named have written fantastic songs indeed. Personally, I'm more into Rory Gallagher, Pink Floyd, Led Zep as well as hard rock and (old) heavy metal acts. Are they good/better? I don't know and honestly I don't care, I love songs not bands and music is no competition. you feel connected to the song or you don't. Anyway, I'm glad we have music to talk about in these troubled times. Stay safe!

I will defend Nickelback's first few albums all the time as well as the capabilities of their band members. But I don't like them as a band because they had 3 or 4 hits from those first few albums and realized they could go the rest of their career just rewriting those same songs over and over again.
Eh some people just genuinely don’t like them. I find their music a bit annoying and I don’t like their singer.
Maybe some people are "bandwagon haters", and I respect your opinion, but they really are a terrible, terrible band. I saw the title of this video and honestly thought it was a joke. Never understood the negativity around Nickelback. It supposedly started as a joke on a podcast and became a thing on the internet.
They do have some killer riffs and good songs. “Never again”, which has a deep subject, is my favorite.
CamaroAmx i think it’s because of chads (the lead singers) attitude. He would talk a lot of shit about slipknot (we all know slipknot fans are very protective) and he was just all around very douchey

The first time I heard someone say something negative about nickleback was that comedian with the beard and high pitched voice say - nickleback makes me wanna kill nickleback” something like that, then I heard it every where! Sorry for being such a rat ..... better go get my stitches now!☺️

1. Photograph, their biggest hit got overplayed
2. Chad Kroeger is a dumb ass, not for his opinions but for belive people won´t backlash at him just for open his mouth
3. Internet bad mouthed them so much that somekinf of mandela effect happen so people think "Nickleback? yes, all songs the same, bad band" immediatly, wich happen a lot like Ac/Dc plays the same song all of the time or that Lars Ulrich sucks (Now, Lars did sucked when starting this decade, he was very lazy and uninspired, but he´s been playing good for a while now and the hatred towards him had gone so far to call him mediocre in some of his best work in studio)

I won tickets to Nickelback once and decided to go and was impressed with how tight they are live. Disclaimer I never hated on them just because it was cool to do so. They have a really good live performance of sharp dresses man floating around on RUclips look it up

I have a lot.of respect for Nickelback. I read in an interview that they consider themselves a "live" band so they don't write anything that they can't play live. Not to mention you have 3 great vocalists between Chad, Ryan, and Daniel that come together with some wonderful harmonies and call/answer type of stuff that a lot of bands aren't capable of because they only have one, maybe two, guys that can sing at all. They're pretty talented performers no matter what you think of their actual song content.

Bravest youtuber ever for doing this. Don't want to be nitpicky, but "Side of a Bullet" and "Because of You" are usually the go-to riffs I use to argue that they're at least somewhat decent... Dimebag solo on the first, and surprisingly one of the most agressive tributes I heard at the time... Totally guilt-free.

Everyone laughs and memes when a nickelback song comes on, some wbn roll their eyes. But the second the chorus hits everyone in the room is singing along. And they’re constantly being talked about. The way the singer writes and structured songs are on par with bands like volbeat and A7x. I’m talking the structure of the songs. The intros build ups riffs and the acoustic guitars they fit in there. Plus the singer is single handily responsible for the success of the bands my darkest days and Theory of a dead man writing songs for them and getting them deals.
Nickelback are great and so are their riffs!

Hey Rob baker love all your content and videos been following you for a long time now and as a Canadian myself I can tell you nickelback isn't half as hated between here, niagara falls to Toronto as they are worldwide! Personally I love their riffs and think Chad despite some cringe worthy interviews and douche things he's said/done over the years has a killer voice.

Of all the people to grace an album as a guest he really is the icing on the cake on that song. Sounds like he just plays the main solo and outro but maybe he doubled Chad's guitar at other times because after all he has a seven string "N7" wood guitar that he whips out occasionally! So you never know!

I was recently roaming the mean streets of Bend, Oregon when a bearded young man wearing tight fitting trousers approached and said “Brah! Have you ever paid attention to the riffs on Nickelback tracks? It’s fantastic. “. I looked at him, smiled as he was clearly deluded, and decided an aggressive tone was required. I said “LITTLE MAN! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF THAT MEANS BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR PASSION!” And then went about with my afternoon.

I've done some gathering about why they have hate is because they let the studio make how they sound rather than using their own sound. I like Nickelback a lot, and I mean Chad can write some badass riffs. I got the chance to meet him a couple years ago. Some guy was talking shit about how Chad was a terrible player and only used his 7 to "be cool" and Chad started shredding all over the guitar and said "yep just to look cool"

Where Do I Hide has an awesome riff too. Not hard at all to play but really badass. Also I really like almost all of Nickelback's songs. Idc if everyone wants to hate them xP

I really think enough time has passed for the "Every Nickelback Song Sounds the Same" haters to have gotten bored and moved on to other artists such as Falling In Reverse. Earlier Nickelback was HARD ROCK with some Metal thrown in there. Later Nickelback did start to become a little too formulaic/predictable with their patented paint-by-numbers rock songs and less musicianship. Rhythm over music melody. I listened to their first two Albums enough to have worn them out (remember CD players?? lol). Then they realized their biggest sellers were actually songs like "Photograph" and decided to go the more sterilized pop rock road. The same thing happened with the other Chad Kroeger clone, Theory of a Deadman, when they found more money in Santa Monica instead of their more interesting songs that required more talent.
Oh well, thanks for this video!! It's about time people start realizing Nickelback can write some killer rock riffs.
Not to be that guy, but Silver Side Up was actually their 3rd studio album (4th if you include Hesher, which I don't). Great video, great job nailing down those riffs with the right amount of distortion . Keep up the good work 👍
Ok so I’ve listened to Nickelback for years and It stinks they get the hate they get. While I feel a lot of it is just because it’s cool to hate them. I can see where some people don’t like the sound they’ve been doing for years. I listen to a lot of their stuff from ATRR and “Dark horse” and even new stuff from “Feed the Machine” and I’ll stand by that. That being said, I recently started listening to their second ever album “The State” and I was hooked on like 5 of the songs right away. It’s so different from what they’ve been doing but it’s kinda like a breath of fresh air. Still love their stuff that came afterwards, but I’d be lying if “Breathe”, “Cowboy Hat”, and “Leader of Men” weren’t on repeat a lot.

Growing up among my circle of friends in shoegaze and post punk bands in Olympia I was known for mocking the hell out of Nickelback. I would learn their songs and memorize their lyrics just so I could play and sing them in satire. Well guess what? The riffs are actually pretty dope and throughout that time I was actually growing an appreciation for them. I still don't think they are necessarily "good" music personally, BUT they honestly don't care what people think, they are doing what they love, and people eat in right up. Honestly what more could you want as a band? I respect that. Props to you bro for doing this video. Also copying Chad's voice, satire or not, is just plain fun.
