That video was absolutely awesome! I need to build two toy soldiers to stand outside an old-fashioned toy store in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. No plastic toys will be sold there. They will only commission handcrafted works. Right now, everything is in the production stage, nothing is set in stone. I had in my head that I was going to build a couple of these out of 12-inch PVC water pipe and 4-inch PVC drain pipe. Before I got started, I thought I'd look to see if anyone had a better idea. Wow! What a better idea! The 12-inch water pipe was way too expensive for a prototype. Maybe later, but for now, I think I'd better stick with this cheaper version of the design instead. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with the rest of us online. It is much appreciated!
In my universe, ZIP TIES are the greatest invention after microwave popcorn! My nephew and I set up a hunted walk at out local park and have used 100's of zip ties to pull it off! Plus we thank you Mr. Hopps for several of your tutorials for props we have built over the last 12 years. Hopefully we will be back next October 202`1, COVID shut us down in 2020!
@@CobwebsandCandlesticks I have the wheels turning...lol...I think you could do the Bride too...lol...I have to wait till warmer weather because of my health, but I am telling you...that would be cool in an entrance like Allen said...not to mention for our "kiddie haunt" those would be great! Unlimited possibilities :)
First... I love this big guy. Yay! Next... 2 gallon, 3 gallon, and, 5 gallon buckets with lids, square and round are $1 at all Walmart bakeries. Their baking supplies come in them. So, they are also food grade if you need them to be.
Voice over no problem watching you put that together was absolutely inspiring I love toy soldiers. I can't hardly wait to be able to make one of these even if it's smaller. And I think you're an awfully good painter especially for what you were going for thanks so much for the inspiration
I made a totem pole by stacking coffee containers. I had a dickens of a time locking them together. Your zip tie idea is awesome! I will add that I had to add dirt in the bottom to keep the pole from tottering in the Oklahoma winds!
I think this is a phenomenal practical, application with the 5 gallon buckets and whatnot containers! Love the detailed step-by-step and the final product.
This is the one I meant to comment on. Haven’t seen the tree yet. About to watch it now. You see things in everyday stuff that most people would not. If I had half of that imagination I would be very happy. Thank you for always challenging us to open up to see things as you see them.
I am so glad you did cocovid this summer and it was online! I love watching the dainty historical costumes, but man, I have been into Halloween since forever, and you just rock that! So glad I found you. Love all of your stuff. My sister-in-law and I live for RUclips Wednesdays!
Thank you so much, costumes and masks are a huge part of what I do, but my business shifted from them a bit because of the pandemic. I wont do dainty and historical, but you will see more costumes soon! so glad you joined us.
This is LEGIT WAY cool!!! I love it! These are absolutely on my create list now for this year. We have strong winds, so I think I will add some concrete to the bottom bucket and maybe even some rebar. THANK YOU!!
You know that you are the best of the best person who DESERVES so much respect and creativity in all the work you do and have a great time doing this for us. Well I’ll be... it’s a HUGE TOY SOLDIER!! That’s awesome I’ve never thought about building anything like that out of buckets very creative and great job! 🎄👍🏼
Go make stuff! A very effective build out of the buckets. If it wasn't already gone Christmas I'd be tempted to try making a mini-version with yogurt pots or something. I'll store the idea away for another time though..... that endless list of "ooh, I want to do that". during the time to finish one project I add another three to the list! Anyway, Fantastic video with clear and effective directions to get such cool results. Thank you!
You looked like you were having a great time building him , turned out very festive . Can’t wait to see your Nutcracker Army next year . Loved the ending .
Oh! He's so dang cute!!!! I love him! 2 of those would be cool posted on either side of a door!
