Doctor D.S. its struggling for air intake because you fucked up the back pressure. I did this last year using a high performance scooter muffler on one of my husquaverna trimmers and after tinkering with a few things like a larger fuel line that is braided stainless steel, opened up the air intake and installed a multistage/terminal spark plug and put a crossdrilled saw blade and aluminum chain saw blade(2) and I use it on jobs where I'm clearing out high brush/thicket. People ask me a lot "wtf is that?" Lol. Works really good for what I use it for.
The new muffler you made is more like silencer for 4 stroke engine. I believe your engine is 2 stroke. In 2 stroke engine you need resonance chamber before the silencer, otherwise your fuel consumption will be higher and your engine will loose power at certain rpm.
NOW ALL the you need is chrome handles, dual intake, bigger yard rope head, chrome plated of course, 3rd stage wing, and a hand brake for those really big drifts, around those trees and bird baths, your all set!!!

When you are talking about making it louder you are using a resonator made specifically to make the noise louder, as a normal resonator is made to make it less loud.

That exhaust is not a bad idea at all! It will definitely get the heat out of that cylinder better than the stock can ever will. Might be slightly louder but it will help the engine last longer as long as the carb gets adjusted after the mod to compensate for the better flow.
Good job. The 2 things i have to comment about. 1 surface prep, grind the paint or rust off. 2 do an undercut when grinding so when you weld it fills the groove. this makes a stronger bond and wont be removed when grinding away excess. good job once again

The ideea is great,only one BAD thing you did...you used very thick materials and that will be very overheating after 30 minutes of work,BAD RESULT,good result you get if you are using (maximum) 0.8mm steel sheet,otherwise the muffler will overheat very bad because cannot cool fast enough due the thickness of the materials...consider this as one of my previous experience with a home made (similar type of build) muffler on a chainsaw,great noise reduction (without loosing power) but severe overheat 20 minutes later...the plastic case around started to melt and i stopped the engine and water spray to cooldown the muffler mounting back the original muffler was a better ideea untill i built a new muffler but with thinner materials (this time welded with oxyacethilenic torch),with 0.6mm steel sheet and 0.8mm wall thickness pipe,that was a HUUGE improovement,after 7 years,that muffler still sits on the chainsaw,haven't used since 3 years because i moved on city with rent apartment. But the building ideea is great !

the shanks are made of thinner sheet metal. The idea may be good, but it is not an industrial ending. the mower has an additional load of at least 2.5 kg.
A burn is the worst pain there is. And you have for sure got something right there that when it burns you your gonna wear the mark the rest of your life👆💯

So it is louder now? 2cycles are notoriously hard to quiet down. I tried 2 car mufflers at once on a snowmobile engine with no success. I think it needs to be tuned to the motor.
That exhaust is actually a straight pipe now. He should have put fiberglass in the outer pipe before putting it together. You don't have to tune an exhaust but you can build them them tuned. Stock exhausts are not really tuned for performance just noise control. That pipe he built is a little large to be a performance gain for a stock cylinder but should be fine. With kind the of change to the flow that exhaust makes you must re adjust the carb to compensate because it will run lean and potentially burn up the cylinder. With the carb adjustment it could be a good pipe. Good video

Nicely done... I was thinking of changing a better muffler on my brush cutter, but I lack the tools and skills of welding 😁. BTW, should always set the camera with the brighter side behind the camera. With the camera in your workshop facing outside, what's being focus in the works appears darker and lost resolution. Anyway thumb up for sharing this.
The fuel mixture is way off now maybe a smaller pipe with a smooth transition to expansion chamber would give you the performance your looking for. But that engine does not have the displacement for you current set up

That exhaust will burn the piston out in a season of regular use. 2 stroke motors need specific exhaust if they don’t have expansion chambers

This muffler doesn't do anything. It can only reduce the power od the engine itself. 2t engines requier resonating muffler.
