Yeah, I'm struggling, I'm doing therapy, but there's still a overwhelming sheer of hard times in my mind, and this song fits so well. To be fair, it's from being horribly overplayed on my town's only non-country music station. Imagine a single CD's worth of songs for a playlist, and every year one song gets swapped out. It could ruin almost any song. I hadn't really thought about this song since I left for college many years ago, because I stopped listening to the radio and hence, hearing this song. I think looking back on it with decades more of life makes a difference. I can appreciate it in new ways. And it not being over-played means I don't reflexively hate it lol. But mostly tho, I think it's hearing your version. I like it much better. Your version flows better. It's like electricity going through a wire. Yours feels like the better conducter, like the music is more effortless and natural. Easygoing. The original version sounds like it's working against itself, like it's trying too much and the timing of everything isn't in even sequence or timing. The original feels like mashing down the gas and brakes at the same time, while yours is an efficient acceleration. Also, I love your expressions and gestures for this one. Especially your concentration and trance-like state when singing or playing guitar. It's like nothing else exists to you in that moment, and you're supremely beautiful when in the heart of your own element
