I'm getting some serious Blondie vibes from this one. Thank you Violet for sharing this work of art with us. Love it. May you have a whole bunch of good ones. Have fun take care
People often make the mistake of trying to straight copy the original when doing a cover. Sometimes it works out, but when the original singer has as distinct a voice as Debbie Harry (Ann Wilson also springs to mind), no matter how good the cover is, the listener is left with "yes, but it's not Debbie, is it?" Wise choice making this your version; nice job.
Heard the song on Spotify, but watching the video adds so much. I know there's video editing and sound engineering magic. But that doesn't take anything away! It just stands on its own, stunning both-visual and audio.
Despite its simplicity, this is one of the coolest music videos that I've ever seen. I know you probably see yourself as plain, ordinary, and doing nothing special here. But when I look at you in this video, I don't think that I've ever seen you be any more the distilled essence of pure poetry. Saying only what you want with as little as possible; like sculpting a statue by just removing the unwanted material and leaving only the desired perfect product behind. It's not you sitting there and doing nothing but play the music, it's everything you don't do. It's tough for me to put it any other way The melody and pace of the song is brisk; it rocks, but without going too soft to be hard and while still keeping the roll very smooth. It's a really cool way to be upbeat without being happy go lucky or false/artificial positive, the way most "cheerful" songs do (I hate that). It has your characteristic intensity throughout the entire track; coupled with your bursts of energy at the proper opportunities it makes for quite a sweet little firecracker of a song. I love how you can see past the original artist's work to the purity that is the song itself (rather than just how that artist did that song, even if they wrote it), and you then work with the pure song and put your own magic touch on it. Whenever you cover a song, I know that it will always be something unexpected and unique. My muse doesn't "cookie cutter" her creative process =) Every song is precious and unique and is treated as such The solo where the sound becomes electronic is particularly awesome and trippy. I grew up with video games, hearing so many thousands of hours of tracks only about as long as your solo, and on endless repeat. This particular one sounds like 16 bit SNES to me. It's one of the best I've ever heard, and makes me wish that I was good at RPG maker. I'd use it as the battle music, or better yet - the boss battle theme! What you've got here reminds me of the chorus in this track: ruclips.net/video/NzFh9GuE0rA/видео.html. It's called "Those Who Fight Further," which is the boss music from Final Fantasy VII. The music for regular battles is just "Those Who Fight." Because most people would just quit, surrender, or flee from the odds being stacked against them like in a boss battle. But the characters, obviously, simply persist and kick the damn thing's ass to death. Some of the best song naming ever, in my opinion The music in background at the start and at the end of every verse reminds me of this: ruclips.net/video/LiMOkq1RLac/видео.html. What I find so similar to the two tracks is how they remind me of the unbroken stride of total triumph straight to victory without so much as slowing down or missing a beat. Once again, when Violet covers a track, it's a march right to success Your vocals here are outstanding, Violet. You do things with your voice that I can only fantasize about. You never cease to impress me with the lovely sounds you're capable of making. 1:58 Just when I thought I couldn't fall any deeper in love with you Violet, you go and break your own record for being adorable
Showing off your versatility & giving us an awesome performance! Love the boom box! Did I search eBay for it after listening to this full video? Yes. Yes I did.
What I was thinking, too. I fell in love with her voice and look, when she mostly did black and white videos, just playing guitar. And this video is a thowback to those days.
Did anyone notice that the piano in the credits is playing clutter as a throne? You can feel the amount of love an effort that was put into this, even in the most minute details
As a GenXer who's been in love with Blondie since 1979....BRAVO!! You not only made Debbie's song your very own -you have a lovely alto for singing punk rock. I'd love to hear your take on something from the band X!
I love your music. I started listening to you through the many, and many covers. I enjoy some of your original content. Some a little harder than my normal music. But, very excellent music
Your voice is so unique. It's what sets you apart from other artist I just discovered you a couple days go but i'm all in now Just wish i could of found you sooner
Another classic, another VO classic! This was a lot of fun!! I truly love your acoustic works. That stripped back sound is more vulnerable and intimate for both musician and audience. Keep going!!!
Amazing. So glad to have found you thru your collaborations with Dan. But this cover, I remember but had forgotten how great it was. TY. Blondie. And she is still on tour…
Waouh ! Quelle interprétation ! Violet,v ôtre version acoustique est vraiment magnifique , vous avez une très belle voix et le clin d'œil aux années 80 avec le gros poste de radio est génial. Vraiment, bravo pour votre belle prestation 👏❤️
That "Amore chiamami" is wonderful😍, beauty, talent and voice all in one girl, no autotune, no filters, only music, ladies and gentleman, bow down in front of the Queen❤, excellent job Violet🖤❤️, and now...a song in italian language😊
Good morning, I just discovered your channel and your work and... Whooah ! It's really very interesting not to mention your magnificent voice. Friendships from France !
Awesome job. Always amazes me how musicians can do two things at once (sing and play a guitar in this case Violet). I cant even play one instrument. Love the clothing style. It's a very photographic style.
Hallo Violet, its called "RUF MICH AN". I really love your version and interpretation of the song. Aside from your voice, what I find absolutely incredible is your guitar work. Could you possibly make a tutorial on that? Greetings from Berlin!
Initially I was a bit "Hmm, classic guitar? Oh, so that's the background music? I'm not so sure about...eh. OMG!" There's is something to that simple background, the guitar, and the emotions in your voice. Especially the "CALL ME!" where it feels like you're not in full control (I know you know what you're doing, but it _sounds_ that way), because it just adds so much raw emotion to the lyrics. Or I could just put it this way: Shivers down my spine in all the best ways.
I used to think no one could do this song better than Debbie Harry...I was wrong!! You own this & it's now my fave version!! Thank you for this treat!! 🥰❤️
Got to say I've been following your progress for a while now. I think this is a great showcase of your talent. Kudos to the simple power and starkness of the black and white set. Your voice and guitar work really shine.great cover. It shows a lot of growth and the power of your vocal range. Unique voice. Love the eyebrow and the thumbs up. I'd buy it!
How do you say "call me" in your language?
Call me lol I’m British and of course English is my first language, much Violet, looking amazing as always xx
Me liga!
"appelle moi" (French) 🖤
Me ligue ❤ Brasil. Rio de Janeiro.
Ficou muito bom! O timbre dessa voz é magnífico. Parabéns Orlandi!!!
Desperate ❤
Just Violet singing like the good old days. Good stuff.
Your vocal tone is so rich. Goes great with the jangly acoustic.
Sublime! Sometimes the simpler videos are the best.
I agree but my favorite song is down with the sickness with Ai Mori.
Wow I really love the growl in your voice. It has that raw power that shows passion in your singing.
Wow!!! This cover makes my little black heart skip a beat! Very well done!! ❤
What a great spin on this classic. I love your emotion behind this. Shines with a simple backing track and some slamming acoustic guitar.
Thank you!! ❤
The eyebrow raise at the beginning got me. Powerful cover.
I’ve been working out that eyebrow muscle for years
@VioletOrlandi Just like
Leonard Nimoy doing Spock.
I love the stripped down sound when you go acoustic! :-)
Oh yes I definitely agree, it's far more personal when remove everything that isn't necessary
Back when this pretty much all she did was her "Golden Age"
@@enigmamz I enjoy all Violet's music. I just like to comment when one particularly speaks to me.
No problem.@@pendragon2012

Violet you can create any kind of content of you want but this the type of music you are the best at!!!!
Wow! And I love the retro looking SoundWave tape deck amazing.
Seriously. The radio band window has short wave and AM/FM!

That voice! Nice throwback Boom Box...Is that cassette! I might have owned that Blondie cassette. Well done.
И у меня такая есть!✌

A song from my youth. This cover, though, gave me the chills. Excellent job! Have you thought of doing "Atomic" by Blondie?
Speechless! Simply superb Violet!
Like so many things you do, I didn't know I needed an acoustic blues/folk version of Blondie. So thank you!

You almost reached debie's power, congratulation. Great arrangement BTW
She’s no Debbie Harry, but then, who is?
This girl took Blondie’s best song and slayed it, in a way that was totally her own! Love it!

Love the creative way to present this song. Impressive
You're back to playing again!!! Love it.

Simplesmente sensacional!!! Como sempre, você consegue dar um tom único para as músicas covers, Violet. Especialmente nesse modelo mais acústico!
