The third movement drives, Lewis plays with such intense passion even more so than on his album and the Steinway piano sounds utterly amazing! The timpani is also mic'd, compressed and tuned to perfection! Absolutely brilliant!
Only the 1st, but no, I must. At first? an unsympathetic rendition of what I have so long loved. _And then?_ Of just why I had so long loved, so well. And then?! *How dare you represent Beethoven's **_bravura_** and courage? and strength!* _A vous, Msr Lewis ... et merçi._
AIanchurcher Beethoven took genius to a new level with his best compositions that to this day no one can even get close.Every composition sounded so different from the previous one.Deservedly the greatest composer the world has ever seen .
Yes, superb. I enjoy the strength and physicality of his playing. The strength does not detract in the least from pianissimos and pianos which are gorgeous. I have much admiration for his work. Thank you for this upload.
Just wanted to know has Paul Lewis ever performed at Saint George's concert hall in Bradford, he is so incredible and brilliant this orchestra deserves a lot of credit too the sound is so sharp and very pleasing to the ear l would go to watch this pianist were ever he was playing.
Thanks A LOT for your art today, October 10 (2021), in Palau de la música, Barcelona, Catalonia. Whith your partners Franz Schubert Filarmornie, before Camera Musicae you have doneus to be happy, cry, an eat after a lot of days whithout any aliment. Great. Great. Thanks a lot
So many women in the pit. Lovely. And the first violinist and concert master a woman of grandiose gestures and regal proportions! O and the music aint too shabby. Now if we can just get that knuckle-fisted ivory pecker to pick up the beat. I think I saw him snooze for a second!
Clearly there are balance issues. Most likely the editing process. Sometimes the high ww are way to loud or quiet vs the rest of the orchestra. And there is no way the piano is louder than a full tutti, but it often is in this video. I believe it is audio editing process though. The performance is excellent.
Bravo Paul Lewis! 🎹🎵🎼🎶👏💐
Congratulation Orchestra and Conductor! 💐

The interpretation of Paul Lewis is superb.
One of the greatest performances of this fantastic concerto of all time Period !!!!!
Superb !
The piano composition from 35minutes onwards takes music creativity to a new level of genius that is far beyond previous or later composers.
That was really terrific! Paul Lewis nailed it as did the orchestra. Bravo to all.
its the first time I hear Paul Lewis... I'm impressed by the quality of this pianist and outstanding interpretation .. great
Great performance by everyone, pianist, conductor and orchestra. Love to see more of the orchestra on RUclips. Go Iceland!

WHO IS THE ORCHEST REGENT ?
DAVI GUBIN
Outstanding interpretation of this extraordinary concerto. Great Paul Lewis!
I,d put this incredible work of Beethoven right up there with Grieg Rachmaninoff and of course Tchaikovsky !!!!!
Desde luego ver eso y cotejarlo con lo que hacen los músicos pop, es comparar la belleza imperecedera con la ordinariez más absoluta.
Paul William's interpretation is magnificent. His technique is perfect. Terrific orchestra!
Paul Williams?
I think he's Paul Lewis, isn't he?
One of the positives of living in our suicidal age is Paul Lewis. With great audio quality!

Agreed - right to the end of the movement!

In my next life I want to be an Icelandic cellist.
philppe p dommage de ne pas connaître le nom de l'orchestre ni celui du chef d'orchestre
Orchestre Philharmonique d'Islande sous la direction de Matthew Halls
Met zorg en verfijnd uitgevoerd.
Nicholas Brittel completely ripping off the end of movement no. 1 brought me here.

very interesting take. Would increasing the tempo make this piece more interesting/ enjoyable? Why?

Si il y a qll qui parce par la de la classe 5A slt a twa
Paul Lewis violin??? In a piano concert?!
Other than that error, great performance
No error!😡
Rather Ott's version. Can you please play it instead?
The 'concertmaster' is insufferable . . .
They so often are
Hand soft, so sound quality bad.
